Really that segment just didn't do anything for me at all to be honest, between 1), there not really being any way to pay it off because Rock's not even in the night two match and if they do Rock / Cody later Rock is almost definitely winning to get the title pointlessly involved in the Roman match because WWE loves doing that, 2), Cody not selling it very well, 3), Rock seemingly only having like a single line's worth of improv coming to mind for it with just how much he was repeating himself ("Look at you now, look at you now, look at you now, look at you now, look at you now, look at you now, look at you now, look at you now, look at you now, look at you now"), and 4), it just going on for a damn eternity. Conceptually it was neat but in practice I thought it was kind of a drawn out chore. Though I will give it that the money shot of Rock wiping up Cody's blood was pretty awesome and that's all they really needed for the video package anyway so it did what it was supposed to. Bro, you know perfectly well Rock isn’t winning the world title again. You’re just purposely scaring yourself now.

Why not, he's more present than the actual champion is and Roman's done jack shit with the thing the past year anyway, it's not like it'd be hard at all for them to have Rock show up, beat Cody, go away for eight months then lose it back to Roman. If anything it'd better fit the style of storytelling the company's been doing for the past decade than having a champion actually around working would.

Nothing more needs to be said.

Too much of a one sided beatdown for me. Cody beat Brock twice, and once almost with a broken arm. He should have been able to defend himself a little in the seven minute beat down. Also, where where his friends that showed up on Friday?

I can see people's point in terms of Rock having more spotlight but it just doesn't bother me, the title match doesn't feel any less important. For me personally the past few weeks have just elevated the whole Bloodline angle to another level and there is a very obvious (imo deliberate) and much more interesting story to tell between Rock and Roman post-Mania now too.
When I compare it with the paint by numbers booking for 10 weeks I was anticipating after Cody won the Rumble (and after Rock took his spot) this is all far more compelling.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like blood in rain.

I know it's not really easy to look at this why with a guy like The Rock (possibly the most famous WWE Superstar of all time?), but couldn't the writers be intimated that The Rock is doing Roman's (the Champ) dirty work for him? Again, obviously, it's The Rock, so it's very hard to look at it that way, but I think that's what WWE is doing here.

There's still another week, presumably that's when Roman and Cody will be more involved together.
Rock is arguably the most famous pro wrestler in history (bar maybe Hogan and Andre) who's clearly happy to be there. This is a good way of getting him front and centre without actually taking the match away from Cody

So Rock is the final boss. It's like an RPG where you spent the entire game pursuing a villain (Reigns) only to find out there's an even bigger bad guy (Rock) who's basically a god and makes you fight in space. Sorry, I just finished Dragon Quest XI yesterday So he's Necron from FFIX.

I liked the bit where he told him to look at himself now.

I liked the beat down and I think Rock/Roman wins night 1 and night 2 will be a huge run-in with Cody's crew vs. Roman's crew ending with (hopefully) Cody winning this time.

Masterfully done and I couldn't help but chuckle when Rhodes got to blade because I knew how happy he would be about it.

Yeah, all in all I thought it was an incredible segment. Rock is easily taking the spotlight in this storyline, but even if that’s not intentional (and I’m predicting that it *is* intentional) I don’t see how Roman or the title is somehow damaged by how the angle is playing out. Just by virtue of him still holding the main prize, his being kin to Rock and the building tension between the two that’s only tempered by how much they both hate Seth and Cody, it’s virtually impossible for him to fall out of importance.

I’m sorry, but blood in these kinds of feuds just makes them hit so much harder

Roman Reigns feels like the side chick to his own f***ing years long built feud lmfao It's both sad and hilarious how much Rock has taken this over, the very thing everyone was afraid of when he got a TKO seat and while the quality has been good, he has completely hip checked Roman out of the feuds spotlight... But at what point, do you just have to tip your hat to the Rock for just being that good?

As awesome as it was, it would have been a lot better had this happened on the build to the almost guaranteed Rock/Cody match at Summerslam

A Rhodes at any given point between 1967 and 2024: That's what they get for being a bunch of egg sucking dogs. The Son of Dirty Rhodes getting a parking lot beating like his daddy is what he deserves!
