I feel bad for Roman. If he'd dealt with the trauma of Seth's betrayal at the time, he might not be so untrusting and power-hungry now Bingo. That’s the story right there. He prioritized revenge on Seth over keeping his title because he’s still consumed with anger over his betrayal all these years later. And it’s that trauma from the betrayal that caused him to rule the Bloodline with an iron fist because he never wanted to feel that again. He needed to maintain total control. Really, it was a terrific ending to the match. And to finish my thought here: Seth understood that he was the one that turned Roman into a tyrant and monster, so the only way he could redeem himself for it was by sacrificing everything - his body and his title. Seth has been a babyface since the Shield betrayal, but tonight was him finally earning it and making amends for his past.

Quite. They literally went out of their way to put Seth in the middle of the Rock-Roman-Cody storyline, when no-one would've minded if his job this weekend was losing to Drew and moving on. He was beating The Rock all over Philly yesterday, kicked out of half a dozen Claymore kicks, cost Roman the title and then was the last person to interact with Cody before they went off air. Like, they're obsessed with this guy. Exactly. Also worth remembering that he's been one of Triple H's favorite guys for like a decade plus.Honestly I'm just happy to see Seth get to be so involved in the top stories this weekend. Whether people like him or not(I've been back and forth on him for years) dude's worked his ass off for that company for so long. To reinforce this, one of HHH's first comments in his press conference was waxing lyrical about Seth Rollins.

That and paying off Cody hitting the triple Cross Rhodes to put Roman away after the times he tried it in previous matches, he got stopped made for a very memorable finish.

Now he's going to defend WWE from The Rock at Wrestlemania 41. Redemption arc begins for Roman.

Honestly the past few weeks but especially now Seth has been one of the most unambiguously heroic characters in wrestling history. He knew going in that he was risking everything he had to help Cody and cost Roman and ultimately he got seriously hurt, he got embarrassed, he lost his title, and he took a beating from Roman, but it paid off. He gave everything because it was the right thing to do.

I'm just surprised he somehow got the blonde hair back.

If you remember 2010s WWE, you know those midcard guys(i.e. Kofi, R-Truth, Evan Bourne) that would often make a run-in to rescue guys like John Cena only to get absolutely destroyed instead.......yeah that was Seth Rollins tonight.....

Also a really nice retrospective touch - Seth meant all that he said to Cody in the months of build-up.
There wasn't some swerve or deceit, he genuinely realised the importance of what Cody was going for, and also his own role in creating what Roman had become.
Even though he was taking a huge physical risk by competing on both nights, he did it. Even with the probability, after losing his title and with his injuries, that he'd get laid out by running interference in the main event on Night 2 - and he did - he still went for it.
It's nice to have character with some depth. It's the old Sting/Luger friendship situation - face, heel, there can still be times when you reach across that aisle and support someone.

I thought it was a fake Rollins like a fake sting for a second with how easily he was taken out.

Hey if almost year long world champ and decade long main eventer Seth going into Bitchalla is the payoff for Cody winning the title, it’s well worth it lol. I think Seth will end up fine

The irony of this thread is that for almost a year people have been saying that Seth is insanely OP. "Super Seth" is what we called him. It was to the point where dude was kayfabe injured and still won the matches.
Just goes to show that booking is great.

I think Seth will end up fine Dude wrestled two gruelling matches this weekend with a wrecked knee and shot back, and went out there for a third time to take a beating from Roman. In no way did Seth ascend into Bitchhalla this weekend. Nobody did - Jey beat Jimmmy, Drew beat Seth, Priest won the MitB cash in for a World Title and Cody was Clutch.

This is also a good point, and the commentators acknowledged that (no pun intended). Only slight complaint I have is Seth getting smoked by Roman the moment he got in the ring the first time but it’s not a huge deal and totally worth the payoff

Seth took the chair to the back and the bump into the bottom rope the same exact way Roman did when Seth turned on him.
And I'm pretty sure that Cody said "I'm here because of you, you're the best wrestler on the planet" which is why they shook hands for so long at the end. Seth was trying to take the bullet for Cody (like someone else mentioned, Seth straight up said "I'll be your Shield" a few weeks ago) and it all ties together.

If anything, Bitchalla died the moment Cody got the pin on Roman last night. It "started" when Cody lost to Roman last year, and it's only fitting it formally ended when he beat Roman yesterday.

It did take me straight back to that Raw in 2013 when the faces ran down to save Daniel Bryan from The Shield and Randy Orton and Kofi still managed to eat a spear from Roman.

I thought it was well done. My only minor complaint is that I felt like the camera crew missed showing Seth there for an extra second or two holding the chair and about to attack.

The more I think about and I see all the twitter thoughts on this.
Seth truly had to lose it all, for forgiveness and for Roman to truly entirely let it go.
Now Seth must rebuild, reclaim and resolve once again.

Since everyone was going all in on comparing the match last night to Endgame, I think Seth's move in the match was basically the WWE version of Iron Man's sacrifice in Avengers Endgame.
