Starship Troopers. It's cheesy, it's fun. Ok, I like seeing Dina Meyers naked. Is that so wrong?

Just remember, some of history's most successful films got crapped on by critics. How many critics liked Star Wars when it first came out? BTW, Rat Race was great. Actually, most critics liked STAR WARS. Oh sure you had a few rotten egg reviews (like Kael), but for the most part it was well-liked. Hell, got a Best Picture Oscar nod.

Critics are as prone as audiences in general to be mad when they don't get what they are promised. STARSHIP TROOPERS was advertized as an action movie up the ass "From the Director of ROBOCOP and TOTAL RECALL." Instead, they get Vernhoeven making a mockery of militarization and its history. Just such a misunderstood film with some idiots calling it one of the worst ever. Instead, I think its aged well, which I can't say for INDEPENDENCE DAY.

The Usual Suspects... Only because Ebert gave it, like, 1 star! As much as I like Ebert, and hes penned some great reviews....he fouls up sometimes horrendously. From crapping on A CLOCKWORK ORANGE (hell, his review basically is slamming critics for missing the boat on 2001, but trying to make up by praising ACO. Umm Roger...how about its because its a damn good movie?) To hating on DIE HARD (yet he went went on himself for the inferior DIE HARD 2. Go figure.) To giving 3 stars to THE GODFATHER PART TWO and so forth.

Friday. it got a bomb rating.......and people cant stop reciting lines 12 years later I still remember that New York Times critic who was the only guy in the landscape who gave the film a positive review and guess what? He got fired.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Not because it was a druggie movie, but it was the ultimate guilt trip movie that really gave an insight to two guys who were living the American Dream even though the 60's were over and along the way really pushed the boundries of what was either funny of smurfed up. Well also, FEAR & LOATHING is really about the American landscape after the high tide of the 60s has come and gone....with narcotics taken now for quick pleasure instead of a connection to telepathy or whatever from the 60s...... Really, that whole sequence is about a drug-user having a poignant perspective of that whole era in American history. Damn great movie, too bad many critics who wanted to keep sipping cocktails and being received by their older, more respected critics were cowards for falling in line and thus "hate it" (it happens more than you think.) Really, why can't someone just let Terry Gilliam make a damn movie without the project getting cancelled or molested this side of THE BROTHERS GRIMM?

Wild Wild West- This is a good movie! I guess since it doesn't have some "pulled out of left field" plot twist, it sucks riiiiiiight. Will Smith and Kevin Kline were excellent as a movie duo and had great chemistry. Transformers- so what Michael Bay directed it?!? Just enjoy the movie. Elitist, nitpicking idiots. Stop being sooooo damn serious and have a sense of humor. Look in the sky! Its a Bird, no its a plane, no its... BROKEN RECORD! *cue theme music* Sense of humor? Do you want me to haul out my in-progress malpractice lawsuit I'll file against Bay in the name of thousands of people? "Join next week for another thrilling adventure starring....BROKEN RECORD!"

Will Smith and Kevin Kline were excellent as a movie duo and had great chemistry. Yes, such great chemistry, there was NEVER an awkward moment of silence or dead air in that entire movie. Yes, I'm being sarcastic. Anyway, WWW really is more of an example of a great idea in general bloody wasted. Enjoyed the old TV show as a kid, because come on....its pure money. "James Bond meets the Western." But the movie has problems. For one, the US Government hires a black man as a federal agent in the late 1860s/early 1870s? No way. I don't care if he is Michael Jordan with a gun, no way. I know Will Smith made millions by having one-liners and rapping, but come on! Whats funny is, GEORGE CLOONEY originally was supposed to play the James West part, and you know what? Thats great casting. But he left the project because reportedly, "he thought the script was too silly." Well, he did BATMAN & ROBIN. He's had a tour of duty with CRAP.

BTW, I have to add my vote for UHF.
Really, UHF is the s***. It works in the MAD Magazine style of zany but safe humor that made Weird Al his singing career.

A TON, and way too many to name.
When I see a movie get ripped, I usually find myself liking most of them.

Crash- the 2005 film. Yeah, I suck that much. Wait... didn't that win Best Picture? Anyways, I really agree with UHF and Starship Troopers. I'll try to think of one that hasn't been posted yet and put it up later to. I'll just go up and down my isles.

Wait... didn't that win Best Picture? To the chagrin of all the critics that gave Brokeback Mountain at least ***1/2, which I thought was ok but the quality of the film decreasednear the end.
