The ONLY reason i am thinking of investing in a PS3 is MGS4
BUT there's rumours that Kojima dropped a hint about a possible port to the 360.
First Virtua Fighter Then DMC 4
If MGS4 goes 360 then Sony can kiss my ass

20GB 60GB 80GB 60GB Starter Kit - Europe & Australia only 4 models so far. WTF? In the fall, there will be 4 360 models as well. 0GB 20GB 120GB Halo 3 special edition 360

HOW smurfING STUPID IS SONY!!!!! seriously, it's like there never was a price cut. Sure you're getting more, but the system's STILL $600 WHICH IS TOO HIGH OF A PRICE POINT. PERIOD. And they won't sell out by the end of the month. I was just at Gamestop, and they were talking about the PS3. The company, on a whole nationally, is selling .5 PS3's per week. That's right, a half a PS3 per week. That means that a store sells about 2 PS3's a month. That's sad. I'm betting everyone who jumped on the PS3 bandwagon is regretting it now. I'm not regretting it, and this fall, I still won't regret it, thanks to the games. I get a system for the GAMES, not for the COMPANY that made the system.

Sony's company line now is that they're selling out hand over fist, because...they're not. They throw out all these stats that are smoke and mirrors, and hope that people buy into it. An 80 gig drive and a free $60 game's a good deal, but eliminating a lower priced unit's ridiculous, especially when you consider the system hasn't even been out a full year. At least Microsoft waited a year before it canned it's bare bones 360. The only thing that would make me interested in a PS3 right now is Home. It's a cool concept to run it like Second Life, but there's bound to be things technical and judgemental issues that will not make it so great.

I'd rather a special edition gears 360 then halo 360 but what are you gonna do.
they did the same thing last gen I don't see why the halo 360 won't sell.

But notice Karraker isn't disputing what Kaz said about only having one SKU. I'd ask who's in charge over there, but I think the more appropriate question would be: "Is anybody in charge? Do they even know who it is?" Jed Shaffer ~If Konami puts MGS4 on 360 (they'll need to, to recoup money), I'll break my Microsoft ban and buy one.

Even if they aren't, the perception is that the inmates are runnign the asylum, and no one's doing anything to rein them in. Sony has only one war that it needs to focus on now, and it's not the Blu-ray versus HD-DVD, and it's not the software war. It's the public perception war. And right now, they're getting killed in that.

They always have used smoke and mirrors to inflate stats for playstations (i.e. reporting units shipped instead of units sold). It wasn't so obvious with 1 and 2 because they did, in fact, sell well. Now, with them getting killed, the numbers look ridiculous.

But to me there is not a single game coming out for the PS3 that I must absolutely play right now that I can't also play on the 360 or get an equivalent thereof.
Sure Resistance is good, but I'm perfectly happy with having Perfect Dark Zero and Halo 3 as shooters. I've never been a fan of MGS, so i couldn't care less about the 4th. Plus if i wanted to play a racing game, i could pick up Forza and not think i'm missing anything by playing that over GT5.
For someone on a limited budget, I cannot afford both systems and games for both, and that's what's killing Sony right now. $600 is just too much to drop when i can save $200 by getting an admittingly slightly less powerful system but getting the same games or at least similar games that are just as good.

There's only 2 Blockbusters in my area now, and I live in a fairly big city. I don't know if exclusivity is going to change people's perceptions of the system. Right now, Blu-Ray seems to be winning the format war, but honestly, this is a videogame system, not a movie player. Remember all of the PS2's that burned out prematurely because of the DVD player? I do. I'm waiting for that to start happening to the PS3 next.

And that right there is the nail in the coffin. Sony's PR woes are infinite and surely of no help. Gamers will go into GameStop or Target or WalMart and they'll get confused stares when they bring this up. But that won't kill them. And not having AAA titles right now won't kill them. It hurts like a bitch, but it won't kill them. But someone being able to find the same games on a cheaper system? In the end, that's the bullet in the head. If I'm in the market for a new system and I see I can spend $400 or $600, and MGS4 or GTA4 or the next Devil May Cry or whatever is on both systems, I'm gonna go with affordability. And when you lump in disgruntled gamers who are tuned in to all these PR nightmares, and are looking for a way to burn Sony out of spite? Welcome to Sega-ville, Sony. Jed Shaffer ~PS3: the system that should've.

If anyone can tell the difference (In picture) between HD & Blue Ray They must eyes like a Hawk The only people I've heard say there's a difference is if you've been watching HD for a while now and you look at blu-ray. Then you can see it is a bit cleaner. But honestly, to the average person it's not going to be noticeable.
