The Zoo - Bruce Dickinson (Originally recorded by the Scorpions) Dickinson's voice just lends itself to that song...the air raid siren wail of his vibrato just absolutely makes that song for me. Agreed. Bruce's version is awesome. I also like HIM's cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game".

A lot of the songs on "The Spaghetti Incident?" by GnR and "Garage, Inc" by Metallica I enjoy more than the originals. I think it's mainly to do with better production values. Plus, you know, both those bands kick arse.

Honorable Mention to Holy Diver by Killswitch Engage. (The Cookie Monster like vocals in the middle kind of irk me though)

I like everything G'n'R ever covered better than the original, especially 'Live and Let Die". Axl kicked that song's ass.

*Pearl Jam's version of "Last Kiss" is superior. Here is the original: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzU8f-TS_kcUh, Frank, it's a SAD song. He seems too upbeat. I could be wrong. *The Beach Boys' version of "I Can Hear Music" is good. And "Help Me, Rhonda" is better than "Help Me Ronda."

I think that song is a poor man's "Leader of the Pack" anyway. Both Pearl Jam and the original job to the Shangri-Las.

X's version of "Wild Thing" R.E.M.'s version of "Draggin the Line" Second time a Tommy James & the Shondells song has come up...no wonder Tommy James was also one of the wealthiest songwriters from the 1960s.

Sadly, a good majority of Dylan covers are better just because Bob is so damn hard to understand half the time. *sigh* Bob can really sing it, dude has an amazing gift. Whatever. 8) R.E.M. - "Toys in the Attic" (Arerosmith) Ryan Adams - "Lovesick Blues" (Hank Williams) Bob Dylan - "The Boxer" (Simon & Garfunkel) John Wesley Harding - "Like a Prayer" (Madonna) Jesse Malin - "Hungry Heart" (Bruce Springsteen)

Disturbed's Version of Land of Confusion I have to disagree. Somewhat violently, I might add. On a side note, I saw Genesis last Saturday and LOC was absolutely perfect. As was the rest of the gig for that matter.

Disturbed's Version of Land of Confusion Quoted For Motherf***in' Truth!!! Things are a lot easier when I can just hate Disturbed across the board, but then they do an amazing cover like this and I have to re-evaluate. Vader - I.F.Y. --- Simply destroys the Depeche Mode original Children of Bodom - Hellion Lullacry - L.O.V.E Machine Sentenced - I Wanna Be Somebody Suspiria - Wild Child --- All W.A.S.P. songs... for some reason, I can't stand any of their originals... but most of the covers of their songs are amazing. Faith No More - Easy - The Commadores.... to the point where if I hear the original, I wish it to be Patton on vocals so badly. HIM - Hand Of Doom - Black Sabbath .... I know, I know.. sacreligious.... but something about this cover just plain "works"

Mad'house Like a Prayer (covering Madonna) Looks better than the original too! (I'm in love) She looks a little like Rosario Dawson. I like.

As was the rest of the gig for that matter. I'm with you on disagreeance, albeit minus the violence. That whole song is a protest song about policies that would lead to violence...with nuclear ends. Keep in mind, many of our friends aren't politicos who will understand what Genesis had in mind with this particular song...orthe anger in the voice of Phil Collins. A great tune, but thankfully, without breaking the rules here at the Crap, we can remind ourselves that the curtain has fallen and remember that not everyone is as well atuned to events from years ago as we are.
