Yep, Hollywood cannot come up with anything new for Horror fans. www.fridaythe13thfilms.com/films/newfriday.htmlThis is getting way out of hand. So when's A Nightmare on Elm Street going to be remade? I hope this absolutely tanks and gives them a hint.

I'm already upset over the Halloween remake. This is just adding salt to the wound.

If it were in better hands, remaking Friday the 13th wouldn't be terrible idea.
Even though they are well known films, all of them are pretty pathetic movies. But this guy Liebesmen ain't gonna bring that to us it's just gonna be more TRASH.
That's what I was trying get at in that one thread about movies. If the right people were in charge in Holly wood the remakes wouldn't be that bad cause they'd get put in the right hands.
The fact that they'd put the guy who made Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning in charge of ANYTHING shows there is something seriously wrong in Hollywood. Shows they not interested in making good movies they are just concerned with selling tickets.

So when's A Nightmare on Elm Street going to be remade? I hope this absolutely tanks and gives them a hint. I've heard about the Friday the 13th one for a long time now, so I never knew if it was out of development hell yet or not. Didn't hear about the Elm Street one, though I did hear of a possible Elm Street prequel about Freddy when he was human. I see you're a Pirate now to Bob! Awesome. I'm already upset over the Halloween remake. This is just adding salt to the wound. I'm surprised because the Halloween remake/prequel doesn't look that bad to me. I thought I would have hated it, but it's been looking good. Some serieses need a reboot, and Halloween was one of them. Let's be honest, they would have made a new Halloween one way or another. At least we can get a reboot that has potential to be good and get things back on track, rather then continuing from the silly continuity that it had become up until now.

People act like remakes are something that's new in the past 20 years. Fact is it's been around for thousands of years. Legends and stories are always being revised and updated.
Example: King Arthur
It's just more noticable because of technology available today has increased the production of entertainment. Ratio wise it's about the same as far as remakes:originals

Yeah if the Halloween remake was being done by anyone other than Rob Zombie, I would avoid it like the plague,

The more Freddy, Michael or Jason, the better. Jason deserve one good movie, not just another. Jason franchise deserve one good movie in it. They're all bad. Every one of em even the original. So put it in someone hands gonna know how to make a GOOD film, so Jason can get good film.

This has been in the works for quite a while now.
However, what excites me on that page is the 8.1.7 newsbit. It says a new Friday sequel is on the way for 2009. I can only hope this is a proper sequel, and not the remake abomination.
Jed Shaffer ~Hey, FvJ made $70 mil and was $1 at the BO for three weeks straight ... how about we reboot the franchise?
