not quite film, but I Have a recording of this on VHS that I watch every so often when I need a pick-me-up...
the good ending to Metal Gear Solid 1. With Snake and Meryl leaving Shadow Mosses and they spot an Emu walking... Snake said something to the extent afterwords that "we are not prisioners of our DNA and that we need to find and forge our own futures". After everything I did in the game, that whole speech hit me like a ton of bricks and LITERALY changed my life. Very, VERY emotional and very heartfelt.
Thank you Mr. Kojima.

Sam carrying Frodo up the moutain. That one almost got me misty eyed. "I can't carry it for you...But I can carry you" Return of the King has such great moments. My personal fave is the Battle of the Pelennor, where the Rohirrim show up and Theoden makes his speech. "Arise, Arise, Riders of Théoden. Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now! Ride now! Ride! Ride for ruin, and the world's ending! Death!" and then they all ride through the Orc army just decimating them. Also when Eowyn reveals herself to the Witch King. When she pulls off her helm and says "I am no man" Just fantastic.

The whole Rohan section of the Pelennor is absolute greatness. Theoden's speech and the subsequent charge is one of the only things in cinema that really, really moves me. Bernard Hill is the man.

Amen!
The very first time I saw it I was tearing up so much. Bernard Hill was magnificence in both ROTK and The Two Towers.

A minor part that I love in the film is when Aragorn turns to rush the Gates, and Pippin and Merry are the first two to take off running after him.

The scene at the Black Gate after he's made his speech?

Right. He says "For Frodo" and takes off...everyone just kind of stands around for a sec, then Pippin and Merry follow before the rest do. Just neat to see how far they'd come as characters, to be the first ones to rush into battle.

Even with my problems with ROTK, I agree on Hill. Now THAT is how you shoot a "battle speech" that is actually an organic battle speech.

Just neat to see how far they'd come as characters, to be the first ones to rush into battle. Then everyone else rushes past them. But yeah, Merry and Pippin grew up so much in the movies. Their journey was just as important as Frodo and Sam's. Thinking about ROTK made me think of another scene that just made me choke up. When Faramir rides out with the Gondorian troops to Osgiliath. Combine that with Pippins beautiful song. I've watched Lord of the Rings more than probably any other film I own and no matter what that scene gets me every single time.

I know...my bad. I just get distracted when talking about Lord of the Rings.

Lol, s'okay. Going for great (but not uplifting) scenes from those films, Boromir's redemption and death has to rank right up there.

Definetly agreed. The way he just appears out of seemingly nowhere to defend Merry and Pippin is just magic. Even though he dies, he died with valour and honour.
To carry on the LotR theme (Seriously, I could never tire about talking about it). In Two Towers when Gandalf makes himself known to Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli.
And the March of the Ents. Seeing them reek havok and seeking revenge against Saruman was brilliant.

LA Confidential
After being shot through the face, you believe that Russell Crowe's character (Bud White) is dead. After Guy Pearce gets his medals and Kim Basinger comes to meet him they go outside. And there sitting in the back sea of the car is a mute Bud White!!! He and Guy Pearce look at each other and say nothing. Guy Pearce just says "yeah" and they shake hands.
