I have XM Radio, and I listen to the comedy channels on there a lot more than I do any of the music (MLB Homeplate takes up the other bulk of the time) I've gotten a chance to listen to a lot of lesser known comics, which is cool, and a lot of the older ones...But there are some things that get annoying really fast...let's talk about what those are, I'll start...
Why is it that minority comedians feel like they HAVE to only talk about how "differently funny" said race is compaired to the others? I've heard some really funny stuff from all different kinds of people, but there are a lot of them who just stick with that type of act...but could do so much more...
EDIT: And this is geared more towards stand-up, not sketch shows, movies and such...

Ones that prey on race, religion or sexual orientation for the vast majority of their material.

Everything. That and when they're on talk shows they always try way too hard to be funny. We get it, your job is comedy but tone it down.

You know what's really annoying about comedians?
...
The way they phrase things like that sentence above, especially if they're really lazy.

I don't like how mean spirited they've become. When Johnny Carson made a joke about somebody, you knew he was just joking. Sarah Silverman for example has no tact and you really think she means the awful crap she says(and she probably does) that's not classy. Example- take a look at a Dean Martin Roast, and the Roasts they do on Comedy central today-it's deplorable

I would also like to take this opportunity to say I'm thoroughly tired of Dane Cook. Enough of it already.

The cursing is just ridiculous. I'm not the biggest Brian Regan fan, but I can at least appreciate that he can tell a joke with cursing, which most comedians can't seem to.
And fat guys whose entire act is about being fat.

And fat guys whose entire act is about being fat. Yeah...you don't always have to talk about what you are if you're different. Jokes here and there isn't a problem, but if your ENTIRE ACT is about it, it's really annoying. And yeah, I can appreciate comedians who can do an act without swearing. I don't MIND swearing, sometimes it's just part of peoples' regular vocabulary...but it's when it seems forced and intentional for the sake of being "in your face" when I hate it.

I hate when a comedian coasts on their past, and they dip seriously in quality.
Robin Williams, for example. Stand up was never what he excelled at, other than his enthusiasm and energy onstage. His HBO special a couple years back was really not very funny at all. Once you get past the dancing, voices, and yelling, you find an entirely hollow act.
It pains me to say it, but George Carlin has been slipping. He's had serious health problems, though, so he at least has an excuse.

I don't mind the Blue Collar Comedy Guys, they hardly use vulgar language at all...(Ron White gets risky, as does Larry but not that bad)
What I hate now is every guy with a redneck sounding southern voice thinks he's a comedian...

Yeah, they rarely swear. But I also don't think they write very good jokes. That's just me though. Ron White is actually the only one of that group I really enjoy.

There dumbed down jokes are a nice change sometimes from say someone like Lewis Black or David Cross...

I like Bill Engvall and Ron White, Engvall most of all, though. Larry's just a gimmick, Foxworthy coasts on the "You might be a redneck" thing, White's pretty vulgar and plays up the "drunk" image, and Engvall's just a comedian, honestly. He doesn't really have a gimmick that I've heard. I like that.
