Carlos Mencia There I said it. So, a thing that annoys you about comedians is Carlos Mencia?

I also hate Carlos Mencia. I don't find anything funny about being openly racist no matter how much tries to justify that he isn't. He is trash.

I am a fan of george carlin's older material, But I saw his latest stand up three years ago..... to me, hes just a bitter old man now. Pretty much he talked about death for an entire hour. That wouldn't be because the special was called "Life is Worth Losing". could it? Also, about Leno, apparently he's never touched a dime of his Tonight Show money and lives off his stand-up earnings.

I hate when comedians laugh at their own jokes all the time or when their entire act is about being a certain race.

The fact that Steve Coogan A.K.A. Alan Partridge is considered a comedian.
That man is seriously not funny.
Steve Coogan is possibly the only 'celebrity' in the world that I want to dive into the TV and punch him in the face every time his crap-eating grin pops up on TV. This feeling is multiplied by 10 when he's playing Partridge.
That and openly racist jokes or lots of unnecesary swearing.

The fact that comedians now seen to think they have to swear constantly and make jokes about the most disgusting, rude, personal things under the sun to be funny.

The cursing is just ridiculous. I'm not the biggest Brian Regan fan, but I can at least appreciate that he can tell a joke with cursing, which most comedians can't seem to. And fat guys whose entire act is about being fat. Yeah...you don't always have to talk about what you are if you're different. Jokes here and there isn't a problem, but if your ENTIRE ACT is about it, it's really annoying. And yeah, I can appreciate comedians who can do an act without swearing. I don't MIND swearing, sometimes it's just part of peoples' regular vocabulary...but it's when it seems forced and intentional for the sake of being "in your face" when I hate it. Then you probably wouldn't enjoy Bob Saget's standup. I was absolutely shocked to find out that Danny freaking Tanner is one vulgar son of a bitch.

I know it's been mentioned, but I hate comedy that's based on derivative racial stereotypes. One of the things I found funny about Chappelle's Show was that he'd take a racially stereotype and turn it around and make everyone laugh at how idiotic the stereotype was in the first place, not out of stupid complacency and a fear of insulting others. Sure, some of it was just stupid humor, but he never seemed to take the easy way out when it came to racial humor and just throw iti n our face.
However, our favorite whipping boy, Carlos Mencia just goes on TV with black face and tells us all how black fathers are horrible people or doesn't even bother putting on a skit and, instead, just says "Beaner, Chink, Beaner, WASP" and thinks its funny because he's saying no-no words. There's no attempt at subtlety or humor, just cheap shock value by being "edgey".

when a comedian is on a talk so and just talks about their "troubled past" n stuff like that, ok don't be OTT funny but youre a comedian..we ain't paying you to be depressing
Ricky Gervais in general, ok Office was great..but you'd think anything he does is comedy gold now, extras is..well..a good idea..just poorly done
as stand up goes Peter Kay is just about the best (in the UK at least..with Jack Dee a close second )
but overall you'll never get as good a comedian as Rikki Fulton (go to youtinbe and type I M Jolly ) its one of his most famous routines

But far from the best IMO. I'm with you on Jack Dee though. I would put him, Ross Noble, Lee Evans, Bill Bailey and Eddie Izzard above Kay as far as the best goes.

what really annoys me is the standard of comedy nowadays..its all in your face and such but its not like my favorite comedian Bill Hicks who told truth in a funny way..he rebelled and did not shy away from "BIG BROTHER" if you know who that is.....other guys like George Carlin, Lenny Bruce, Lewis Black and Richard Pryor are in that category as well and I admire them a hell of a lot more than newer comedians( not all are bad)

I just can't bring myself to like Lee Evans for some reason..its like he tries too hard..and on one talkshow he had to hide his head when they played a clip of him (apparently he hates seeing himself..its a kinda phobia )

what I hate the most is the trend that seems to be building around making fun of the mentally handicapped. it's grosses me out each time I read or hear the word Retard. but it seems people chuck it out there as a common phrase in most conversations.

Comedians that make unfunny jokes "funny" to their audiences by A) pulling funny faces or B) being very very loud. More B than the other pisses me off.
Offenders include Will Ferrel, Jim Carrey, Lee Evans (sorry), Carlos Mencia (don't like anything about this guy), and especially Dane Cook.
I just don't see how Dane Cook is so funny. Really.
"So, like, sometimes, you get, like CHEESE...on your pizza...hahaha...but wait, it's not the *cheese* that you're expecting. Oh, no. It's a *different* type of *cheese*, and you're like "what is this cheese on my pizza?"
"What is this *cheese* on my *pizza*?"
"WHAT IS THIS *CHEESE* ON MY *PIZZA*??"
"WHAT IS THIS CHEESE ON MY PIZZA??"
Some of you might like the way he tells them. I just think he seems grasping.

1. Minorities with nothing to talk about except being minorities. There's a reason that guys like Chris Rock, Richard Pryor, and Bill Cosby made it big and your average BET comedian doesn't.
2. Shock humor for shock humor's sake. I'm looking directly at you Carlos Mencia.
3. How far George Carlin has fallen. There's only one good thing about the Life Is Worth Losing CD, and that was his narration of the end of the world. Everything else was boring and, again, shock for shock's sake.
Also, on Dane Cook. I own both of Dane's CD's, and his HBO special. My opinion is that he's a really really funny guy...the 1st time you listen to him. The problem is that his material has a very short shelf life. The 1st and 2nd listens are a blast, but afterwards, it's never that funny anymore.
