The original ended on a cliffhanger, but it was meant to be a joke as far as I know. I don't think sequels were originally planned, but when the movie was so successful, they built off of that ending for Part II. you are correct. they put a time limit on how fast the wanted the sequel as well. and after some time. the producers realized they weren't gonna have it done in time. so they cut the movie in half and made two sequels out of it. Also the story for BTTF 2 was mainly written around the fact that they couldn't get crispin glover to do the sequel. Hense the whole George Mcfly is dead story. If I remember right, there was two options to it. One was to make the two sequels route, which Sheinberg initially vetoed. So Gale/Zemeckis squeezed it into a 3 hour epic. What got the two sequels-route to happen was that the 3 hour sequel would have cost $60+ million (and for late 80s, thats friggin expensive!) and each of the sequels would only cost $30+ million each. I once read a draft of that 3 hour sequel draft. Would have been interesting if they had gone that route.

"the bad news is we wont have the sequel done on time, but the good news is we'll have a back to the future 3 ready to come out the following summer" in which the reply was "We don't care about part 3, get part 2 on our table as quick as possible." the special features on the special edition box set are amazing.

the special features on the special edition box set are amazing. I bought the box set for something like $15 at Best Buy a year and a half ago. Possibly the best $15 I've ever spent on a DVD purchase.

I'm sorry but...I'm afraid this thread is too damn loud. Next please... huey lewis"s first acting gig. ;D In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

It was funny to hear how much he hated teen wolf. and it was interesting to find out they began filming BTTF with another actor until Michael J Fox said he would do it. With family ties and BTTF the poor man was living on no sleep for a year.

I love BTTF and BTTF 2. I watch them somewhat (like not complete attention) atleast once a week I think.
BTTF 3 was meh, but I hated Clara. And its funny how Doc doesnt care about people seeing a giant hovering train there at the end. Also I know its asked, but how did he get that going? He had a hoverboard, thats it. Cant generate 1.21 gigawatts with a hoverboard.
Oh and the original Jennifer looked way better then the replacement...

Would have been interesting to see it, and see WHY Zemeckis fired him.

I agree with Clara being a buzz kill but they wanted to do something different and giving Doc Brown a love intrest was indeed different (it was chris loydd's first ever on screen kiss) 2. He go the train going because he was able to invent a machine that allowed steam to control the thing which meant it no longer needed the 1.21 gigawatts. (it's all explained in the cartoon) on a side note the main reason the chose the number to be 1.21 was because when Einstein goes 1 minute into the future in the first movie he arrives at 1:21 am

Love the movies, was kinda disappointed bout 2 years back when someone announced a part 4 would be made with Michael J. Fox playing his own Doc Brown character in the modern day or something to that effect but it was just false rumors.

I really can't see fox being able to withstand the grueling effects of an acting scedule. altho I think he's at a point now where he could go out and act and people would say "good for him" I almost cry when I see him these days. This is one movie I really don't want to see get remade or anything. It needs to be left as is.

And I think Rush Limbaugh (spelling) is a jerk for what he said.
