Didn't that series end without an ending? I remember something retarded happening at the end yeah kinda. the Deloreon is destroyed. but seconds after that happens Doc shows up in a new time machine he built from a train. He also married Clara Clayton and they had two boys. I wouldn't really say it didn't have an ending because it lead into the cartoon.

Didn't that series end without an ending? I remember something retarded happening at the end The original ended on a cliffhanger, but it was meant to be a joke as far as I know. I don't think sequels were originally planned, but when the movie was so successful, they built off of that ending for Part II.

I don't think sequels were originally planned, but when the movie was so successful, they built off of that ending for Part II. you are correct. they put a time limit on how fast the wanted the sequel as well. and after some time. the producers realized they weren't gonna have it done in time. so they cut the movie in half and made two sequels out of it. Also the story for BTTF 2 was mainly written around the fact that they couldn't get crispin glover to do the sequel. Hense the whole George Mcfly is dead story.

One thing about the sequels I'll forever disagree with Gale/Zemeckis is how Jennifer was "ball & chain" in storytelling. She could have worked.
