i always love this argument that if your not in wwe you do not matter in the wrestling business since its the biggest company that makes the most money.
so if we use the that same logic and apply it to music and mtv does that make Britney Spears and the Backstreet boys who made alot of money and were all over MTV the only musicians that mattered? The musician who views their music as an art form who isn't "marketable and has a good look" (hmmm sounds familiar) unimportant and not as good as the mainstream musicians who makes tons of money? of course not I really hate when people try to justify something that they like by not pointing out why its good and what they like about instead say "it makes more money" its such a bad argument. McDonalds makes alot more money then my local burger place but i would sooner go there because of the quality not the amount of burgers they sell or how many employees. If you like something thats good and be proud of why you like it. If theres a fan who likes catchphrases, big men, and diva search competitions say it don't bash the other stuff and say it doesn't matter because of financial reasons. I will defend the type of stuff i love to watch and say what i don't like based on the substance and what i see not money issues.

I like the idea that "ROH is good for a match or promo now and then."
To me, neither TNA nor WWE can present as balanced, as varied, and as solid an all-around show as ROH. I don't just get great "pure matches" from ROH, I also get some of the best-developed feuds in US wrestling (see: ROH vs. CZW last year, and Homicide's road to the ROH World Title), some fine characters and promos (see: Delirious, Colt Cabana, Christopher Daniels, etc.), and I get everything from technical wrestling, to some high flying, "state of the art" tag wrestling (especially when Dragon Gate talent is involved), to brawling, to comedy wrestling, often on the same card.
Does that mean everyone who doesn't agree with me is wrong? Hell no. It's entirely subjective.
But does that mean I won't say something when someone points out a blatant fallacy about ROH? You bet'cha.

"ROHbot" isn't really an insult, champ. I've seen numerous fans of the ROH product refer to themselves as that. Seems like you are the one having the problem discussing this in a civil manner.

Its kina like the n-word. A lot of rappers will use it to describe themselves and peers, but if I, a scrawny white boy called 50 Cent the N-word, I'd be in trouble

I've called myself an ROHbot jokingly before, but the problem is so many people use it as an insult now. I love ROH, but I don't want to be grouped in with those elitist fans who will look at a great match or great wrestler elsewhere and shoot it down because "that wasn't ROH quality".

ROH is my favorite company right now. TNA and WWE right now are about tied. And tons of wrestlers have turned WWE down for less money, so don't pull that card. Those tons of wrestlers you are referring to have turned down developmental contracts, not full blown WWE contracts. I'd be willing to be my own money that had WWE offered these guys contracts to be called up to the main roster and get paid the big money, they would have bit. I know ROHbots would like to think the guys are loyal enough to wrestle for peanuts forever, but the truth is, there is no reason to do it for a living if your ultimate goal isn't to end up in WWE, or to a smaller degree, TNA. Raven has said that he makes more in the indies than he did with WWE.

Best Thread Ever
Of course WWE is the only league that matters, because when it comes to the world of wrestling, Earth = United States.
What's that you say? The world of wrestling is more than just American federations? What's this Pro Wrestling NOAH or AAA or CMLL that you're talking about? If it ain't popular in America, it don't matter.

But we also have to wonder, would Raven have made that much in the indies if they couldn't bill him as "former ECW/WCW/WWE star, Raven?"

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!As for turning down WWE (not developmental, but actually on the main roster), look no further than Brian Kendrick. He actually walked away from the company for a few years because he was tired of how he was being used, even though it put him into massive debt to do it. I know I myself personally have turned down a WWE developmental deal because I would have to take a MASSIVE pay cut to take it. WWE to me is apples. TNA is oranges. and ROH is bananas. You can like all three if you want, but prefer one over the other.

Oh, and for argument's sake, I'd throw out Christian as someone who turned down a new WWE contract and headed for TNA.

Tomko too, he wanted out of WWE because he didn't like doing nothing. Not that Tonko's so great or anything.

I wasn't using the as an insult, I was using it to express my dislike of the word. I honest to God didn't think people used it as an insult, I thought that was just a term that ROH fans used to describe themselves, as if simply "wrestling fan" didn't work. That is certainly the only context I've seen it used.

ROHbots, TNAdroids & WWEsheep. I believe they're the name going around for fans of the respective promotions.
