I was just thinking about it, and I've decided that the WWE is the only wrestling federation that counts.
Don't get me wrong- you can see an interesting match or promo from time to time in ROH, TNA or whatever your favorite collection of 3 initials is. But the WWE is the big show, and it's the only place that counts.
You know, from time to time I'll see someone say that their favorite baseball team is the (insert name of local minor league team here). And that's exactly how I feel when I hear someone say that ROH is the best.
Sure, minor league baseball may be more "pure" without the multi-gazillionaire players. Maybe the players hustle harder. But you know what? It's the minors and no one cares. Major League Baseball is the only game in town. You can like the Columbus Clippers all you want- but the Yankees are better.
Likewise, ROH may have matches that Dave Metzler gives one hundred gold stars. But who cares? If it didn't happen in the WWE, it doesn't really matter.
Does anyone really think that there is a wrestler alive who'd rather be in ROH than WWE? No way. For all the talk of integrity and not wanting to sell out, the only reason why someone's in ROH instead of WWE is that Vince doesn't want them. Every wrestler on Earth would rather be making $200K/ year dressed in a chicken suit on Heat than making 40K per year as ROH champ.
Don't get me wrong- from time to time I'll take in an episode of IMPACT! and I've seen some of the "epic encounters" ROH has to offer. But let's not kid ourselves- putting on a 5 Star match in ROH is like setting the minor league home run record- five people know about it and no one cares.
People can say WWE is in a slump all they want- but it's still the best program an 9PM on Mondays and it's still the only wrestling that matters.

Well I wanna wrestle and nope, if I had the choice between 40k and being able to wrestle the way I want and have the character I want, and look like a moron in the WWE and get my career ruined for 200, then nope, I'd choose the 40,000 anyday, thats more then enough for an apartment and a comfortable type of living...

Personally to me good wrestlers make wrestling entertaining to watch and put on matches that are show off how good skills are.Likewise saying that WWE is better due to the fact that it pays the employees more and gets more tv time is like saying you would consider a promotion that does not care at all about its fans the best promotion around due to how much money it makes

Yeah, WWE is the only wrestling mainstream fans care about.
...Alright? That doesn't make it better or more enjoyable.

Well, if someone actually offered you the $40K or the $200K, I bet you would change your tune. I would wrestle in heat dressed up as a woman for 200K. Oh wait, that'd be gimmick infringement on Vito. But all the same, you would NOT leave $160K on the table for the sake of integrity. And it's not like you're "selling out" by taking Vince's money! Almost all wrestlers want to be involved in the greatest wrestling company on earth. So, if all you have to do is play a slightly different character than you envisioned to get there, so what?

I'm not saying that WWE is better because it pays more. I am saying that it is better AND it pays more. Production values with other companies suck. Commentary for other companies suck. In ring wrestling OVERALL is better with WWE. Writing (yes, writin) is better with the E. Even if you dispute that, the who package favors the E.

I couldn't disagree more, but it's your opinion.

But just because mainstream fans like it ALSO doesn't mean that its automatically NOT the best wrestling out there. The IWC is like a rock music fan who assumes you no nothing about music if your favorite band isn't some garage band from Toledo no one has heard of. Likewise, "real" wrestling fans know that the WWE sucks, and ROH is the "real deal".

Im getting back into the buisness after a while out and honestly I would want to go to ROH because the traveling is easier, get to do indy shows, work with some of the best wrestlers in the world and that I could also live in England still while in the E I would have to move to America

ROH is my favorite company right now. TNA and WWE right now are about tied. And tons of wrestlers have turned WWE down for less money, so don't pull that card.

The reason I don't think WWE is the best wrestling out there is because their Monday Night Program sucks, their Tuesday program went from being a fun watch to possibly sucking worse than the monday program, and the only thing they have going for them is on Friday Nights. Is WWE the most successful, profittable, and most important? Absolutely, no one can argue that. Are they the most entertaining and highest quality? Hell no, they aren't close.

Commentary for other companies suck, yeah tell that to Dave Prazak, Ben Jordan, UltraMantis Black and Exalibur. Seriously WWE has crp commentary save from JBL's rants. Plus WWE's in ring product sucks compared to ROH, TNA , etc and WWE's storylines make no sense and are unintresting, while TNA have built a really good feud in Sting, Abyss and Christian Cage and ROH have created many great charcters and built some great feuds up. Also yeah most indys have bad production values but if watch PWG Battle of LA you'll see that any indy can outdo WWE with a little blue screen technolgy.
Also how can you compare Wrestling to Baseball, there's one glaring difference Baseball's real wrestling isn't,

Who has turned WWE down in favor of ROH? And I'm not talking about people offered "developmental" WWE deals. Who turned an actual WWE contract down for a ROH deal? And part two, whoever that may be would be working in WWE right now if Vince really wanted them.
