I remember hearing about a shoot with Raven where he says it's disrespectful to call a pro wrestler by there real name.
I think that's a ridiculous crock of shit
I do not call Lindsay Lohan Anna Coleman (Her role from Mean Girls)
I do not call Pierce Bronsan James Bond if I see him on the streets.
Pro wrestling is ACTING. You are portraying a role and I don't see how it's disrespectful for people to call you by your real name (Hell, I think it's more respectful since you know there real name and not just some name in the ring)
Look at Screech. He gets pissed when people don't call him Dustin

If they walk away from after you call them they're real names, just remember its your fault.

Screech is not a wrestler. He is a waste of space.
As for wrestlers, you should ALWAYS call them by their pro wrestling name unless the wrestlers themselves say not to. It's a sign of respect between the wrestlers and fans.

It's because you don't know them, so that's why it would be disrespectful. It's the same as calling someone sir, ma'am, or Mr./Mrs/Ms. It's just about respect.

ugh for the last time YES you should call them by their ring names.
The movie poster of Forrest Gump and the credits in the movie did not list "Forest Gump as Forest Gump", its Tom Hanks.
With that said, its Hulk Hogan's name on the program, not Terry Bollea. Really, I dont know why people don't get this concept.

Could someone explain to me WHY though.
It doesn't make any sense to me since pro wrestlers are basically actors on a television show.
Don't think I would call Alfonso on Fresh Prince Carlton

Look at it as similar to military rank. You call a Sargeant Sargeant. His name's not Sargeant, but you address him that way because he earned the title. These guys work hard to be what they are. Mark Calloway has spent 10+ years working to make the Undertaker a name to remember. It's the least you can do to call them that if you see them in person. Unless of course they request otherwise.

1. You come off as a f***ing stalker if you go up and say his real name. In reality, you shouldn't even know it. (But we do. I know I know.)
2. Its respect plain and simple. In the locker rooms until they become friends they dont even call each other by there real names.

Don't think I would call Alfonso on Fresh Prince Carlton Most wrestlers like the name they're given. It'll usually make them more happy if u call them by their wrestling name. & if u call them by their real name, they may just think your f***ing stalking them.

Don't think I would call Alfonso on Fresh Prince Carlton Again, it's disrespectful. Unlike actors, their names aren't put in the credits. If some random person who I didn't know came up to me and said, hey ANDREW MACDONALD, how are you doing? I would be like, what the f***.

You're not going to impress anyone. "Yeah, right, 'Kane'... cut the kayfabe, Glen."

Most wrestlers seem to call each other by their ring names anyhow. Raven mentioned in his shoot that almost no one calls 'em "Scott".

Its a screen name. If an actor changes his/her name you probably should call them the name they are credited as not their real name. Its basically the same thing with wrestlers.

It's simple - you should call a celebrity by their "stage name" being their name that they are known as. Carlton on Fresh Prince uses Alfonso Rivera as his stage name, so that is why you can call him that.
For example, take Tom Cruise who played Maverick in Top Gun. I agree with your logic that we should not have to call him Maverick if we saw him on the street, we would call him Tom Cruise. However we would not call him by his birth name of Thomas Mapother. Tom Cruise is his stage name, that is what he is billed as.

You wouldn't call John Wayne "Big Jake" or "John Chism" or whatever his cowboy name was.
However, would you call him "Marion Morrison"? Why do I ask? Because that was his real name.
People use stage names in different fields for different reasons. It is respectful to call them what they prefer to be called.
EDIT: Dang it! Beat by mere seconds by Lenny Dykstra!

I think it's respectful. It shows you recognize who they are and what they do. Calling them by their name if you have no pre standing relationship just seems kind of lame.
