I said I wasn't posting here in this thread anymore but..... Why does he have to apologize? It wasn't known until later about it. They did nothing wrong.

And one more random thought.....no one is mentioning the statement made about calls being made to an Atlanta news station inquiring about Benoit's death TWO WEEKS PRIOR to it actually happening Where the hell did you hear this at..?

I haven't made a post on this issue as although I was gutted to hear about the death of a performer I respected along with his family I wasn't grieving for them or anything like that as I can't grieve for someone I never really knew.......Not a slight against those who felt that way or had a connection with the man
However knowing what we know now my biggest issue is actually getting my head around the issue of Benoit killing his wife and son and hanging himself (It still feels wrong typing that even)
I have the Benoit DVD and although I sincerely doubt I will get rid of it, I just feel that when I watch it again that I will be unable to get past the idea of Benoit killing his wife, son & self and enjoy the matches for what they are which is great wrestling
Just a hell of a thing to happen, the only thing you can say with certainty is that I do feel sorry for Nancy, Daniel and anyone related or a friend of theirs
Also credit to WWE for their handling of the situation

I said I wasn't posting here in this thread anymore but..... Not to sound cold, but I bet that was a swerve Vince would have never expected...at least in real life. "Hey! Benoit was a good family man. We all loved him. RIP" to "Uh, about last night...nevermind. Benoit was a sob." Lord, please don't let this kind of thing ever happen again, in real life or part of some stupid angle.

And one more random thought.....no one is mentioning the statement made about calls being made to an Atlanta news station inquiring about Benoit's death TWO WEEKS PRIOR to it actually happening I think she said that erroneously and it was addressed earlier today by several in the Benoit thread in the Wrest section. Unless those fans didn't watch wrestling, Benoit was on TV for the better part of 2 weeks, on Raw and ECW, so it'd be pretty hard to not notice Benoit's presence as he was lined up for a big title match on Sunday vs. CM Punk.

I said I wasn't posting here in this thread anymore but..... I wasn't offended that they did the tribute, but I'm glad for the apology. I'm sure had those facts come out earlier there would be no tribute, and rightfully so.

And one more random thought.....no one is mentioning the statement made about calls being made to an Atlanta news station inquiring about Benoit's death TWO WEEKS PRIOR to it actually happening Where the hell did you hear this at..? It was in local Atlanta news reports if I'm not mistaken. I spent most of the night combing through local websites since I couldn't sleep. I will try to provide a link even though it will be hard to sift through the dozens of Benoit articles reported since.

Ringmaster, you make me sick. Eddie did not what-so-ever, harm his family. Benoit KILLED his wife, and child.

There has never been anything like this before that I can think of, the only situations that come close in my mind would be Invader I stabbing Bruiser Brody and getting away with it in Puerto Rico and Shoichi Arai from FMW hanging himself to get insurance money for his family to pay the Yakuza. There were those rumors about Jimmy Snuka and his girlfriend and Lex Luger and Miss Elizabeth, but the key word there being rumors.
I don't know what to make of the fact that these days the only thing that gets the main stream media to report on pro wrestling is death and steroids.

It's more about covering their ass, i think. Sure most fans know the timeline, and know WWE didn't know until later that Benoit killed them, but others may not. Also, I don't see how you can seperate the two here. The "great wrestler" and the murderer are one in the same, wether you like it or not.

And one more random thought.....no one is mentioning the statement made about calls being made to an Atlanta news station inquiring about Benoit's death TWO WEEKS PRIOR to it actually happening Where the hell did you hear this at..? I heard this as well. If you watch the CNN video on their main page, the lady reporting outside of Benoit's home mentions how "it's even more bizarre that we received calls 2 weeks prior, asking if Benoit was dead". I can almost GUARANTEE this is a case of reporters not really knowing anything and confusing the Vince McMahon fiasco (people calling asking if Vince was dead) with this. Vince's on screen "death" was two weeks ago.

I keep hoping to wake up and have it all be a dream. I can't get the thought of watching all those superstars last night pouring their heart out to their friend, not knowing what they know now. More than that, I keep thinking about how they showed the Benoit family together on the lower part of the screen, and I can't help but feel deep sorrow that it had to end this way. I still don't know what to make of everything. Reading all these posts, while heartbreaking, has helped a lot. It's nice to know I'm not alone, mourning this terrible tragedy for someone I've never met. Thank you all.

I said I wasn't posting here in this thread anymore but..... IMO they shouldn't even do this, they should just let it go and push forward. They honored Benoit the wrestler, not Benoit the tragic murderer. Agree, they honored the wrestler. There's really no need to apologize.

Did anyone else notice on RAW how Regal made a point of only commenting that Benoit was simply the best wrestler in the biz. He basically implied that, for the moment, he was uncomfortable sharing any personal, flattering stories about Benoit. I watched it live and even then I felt like Regal must suspect something. I'm not going to say the other guys looked foolish, but given the benefit of hindsight, Regal's comments were very well crafted.
Naturally, I apologize if this has already been commented on. I can't possibly keep up with reading every post in this - and the other - thread.

This is all just horrible.........But question I have is what was the kid doin when or after his mother (nancy) died? Did benoit tie him up and torture him? Did daniel witness her death? what did Chris tell him what happened to his mom?
Just like OJ, u think you know someone BUT we have no idea what these people are like when their not in front of a camera.

They could apologize for airing the west-coast replay once the murder-suicide story was already out, but I don't think that is even needed.
Like someone said, they are trying to be as careful as possible with this to not offend anyone.
