I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but they cancelled a new Benoit figure that was coming out. Brian Kendrick has replaced him.

"Deleting" Benoit from history is just stupid.
It solves nothing about what happened...and like it or not Benoit is a huge part of wrestling history. Every wrestling fan will remember him no matter what WWE tries to do.
I just don't see a point in removing Benoit from history. WWE, try as they might, are not going to be allowed by the media to distance themselves from Benoit.
I can understand discontinuing Benoit merch, not making any more Benoit DVDs and maybe even leaving his matches off any new "best of" DVDs they produce...but taking him off old shows is pointless. The people that want to see Benoit matches will find a way.

This has convinced me that future printings of old PPVs on DVD will not contain Benoit's matches. I wonder if WWE has considered that by deleting Benoit from their video history, they're only creating an insane collector's market among eBayers and bootleggers and driving up the cult appeal of a killer. People are going to end up paying top dollar for early printings of those DVDs. Indeed. In the end, they're only gonna wind up costing themselves money and creating a miniature "wrestling black market" around Benoit footage. Perhaps, but I don't think it'll be a lot, Benoit was good, but it's not like he was a huge draw or anything. From what I've seen, the "black market" stuff has already begun. Certain Raws will be very awkward, such as the night when the Radicalz came to Raw and made their debut or when Benoit main evented Fully Loaded 2000 against The Rock.

I think whatever decision WWE makes, people are going to disagree with it. It's a very difficult time.
Plus, I'm guessing Vince would rather delete a guy from history than be accused of profiting from a "roid rage killer".

Removing Benoit from PPVs, means that basically 90% of PPVS from 2000-2007 will be bought via other means ie. Amazon, eBay, and other such sites. Bit stupid on WWE's part, especially when it comes to PPVs he main evented, which are Fully Loaded 2000, Unforgiven 2000, King of the Ring 2001, Royal Rumble 2004, Wrestlemania XX, Backlash 2004, Vengeance 2004, Summerslam 2004, Survivor Series 2004, New Year's Revolution 2005, Royal Rumble 2005 and Royal Rumble 2007.
How can they possibly remove all those Rumbles, esp. 2004?!

Man, that really really sucks. I have to go out and search for the original copies of the WM 23 DVD...I hope it isn't any trouble, I want the entire event. There is no way I'd prefer clips of some mediocre film over that MVP/Benoit match

We've got the technology to do it now. In all the DVD's and posters, why not just replace his likeness with something like Conquistador #49? ;D

There is now way I'd prefer clips of some mediocre film over that MVP/Benoit match Shouldn't be a problem. The other day, my friend found the Chris Benoit dvd still on the shelf, the same day they were going for $40-50 on eBay. That is just the temporary hysteria driving that price up. You've got to keep in mind the massive number of copies the WWE produces of each of these new dvd's. Even if they totally stopped production of them, which they probably will, they'll be 100 times easier to find than an original WCW Souled Out 2000 vhs, which was produced in limited quantities, mostly for the rental market.

If they could damn near erase Randy Savage from history and make no mention of the guy on TV, then they could do it with Benoit.

Lol, Ryan Clark is getting worse at this. If I recall Warrior talked about how prescription painkillers might have come into play.

I haven't watched it yet, but it looks like they edited the Benoit/McMichael vs. Jarrett/Chavo match off the Monday Nitro 2/10/97 show on WWE 24/7.

Source PWmania:
Reports are suggesting that people noticed Chris Benoit become a different person after Eddie Guerrero passed away. His wife Nancy was telling her friends that Chris Benoit’s drug usage escalated badly after Eddie Guerrero died.
After the death of neighbour Mike Durham (Johnny Grudge) and Victor “Black Cat” Mar, Chris Benoit became worse. Benoit was considered to be Victor Mar’s best friend during his time in Japan and Benoit refused to attend Durham’s funeral, saying he never wanted to return to church and hated religion.
A WWE source said Nancy was a described as a basket case on Thursday, which was a day before reports suggest Benoit killed her. Nancy was upset over the recent passing of her friend, Sherri Martel.
Shane Helms also said that Chris Benoit called him on Thursday to check up on how he is keeping as Helms is recovering from a neck surgery.

I just checked my 24/7 update. They have put WM 23 back on the listings. The Benoit & MVP match is replaced with what seems to be The Condemned footage and more Hall of Fame clips. I have the match on my 24/7 which is cablevision. I did not get the MNW so I can't comment on that. but Benoit Vs. MVP is shown in it's entirety.
