The executive vice president of USA Bonnie Hammer has suggested to Vince McMahon that they re-hire Sable, Chyna and whoever else they can get from the Attitude Era. Vince is listening to all her suggestions just to be nice but is getting frustrated with her overall.

I think it may be nearly impossible to bring it back exactly how it was, but I think they could do it with a lot of the guys they have. Cena, Lashley, Carlito, Jeff Hardy, Kennedy, Orton, Edge, Matt Hardy, MVP, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, Morrison, and Burke are all fairly young and talented wrestlers to build a company around, along with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and a few other veterans; downsize the number of titles and pay-per-views, and better buildups and segments, I think they could easily improve the ratings and build memorable new stars.

You know i could put up with Bonnie's suggestions up until this point too actually, especially now that it's perfectly clear she knows jack crap.
On the other hand I expect people to be like "YEAH THE ATTITUDE ERA NEEDS TO COME BACK!!!ONEONEELEVENTY!!!!"
Well it's not coming back. It happened and it's gone, we now have this...whatever "this" is.

Wow, that's... the dumbest idea I've ever heard, and, wonder of wonders, it didn't come from Stephanie. Strange.

Bonnie Hammer's ideas the last few months:
-Make Raw go three hours weekly -Have more celebrity involvement (which almost led to Jackass) -Bring back the Attitude Era
She is one "Why don't you have a wrestler like Pigpen from the Peanuts" away from being renamed Kurt Angle.

The annoying thing is that eventually the WWE either has to bend to USA's insane will or try and go somewhere else. With the view on wrestling the way it is now they sorta need USA.

You can't "bring back era's", the era is successfull because of the time, the way people feel at that time, the way they respond to things ect...ect... It all just comes together at once. You can't just bring back peole and charactors that participated in that era and and expect the "era" to be brought back. The Attitude era is in the past, we're suppossed to continue to find ways to improve the current era.
I think it's just "edgyness" that the USA network is looking for, but what they don't understand is that just because "edginess" worked in 1999, that seems to be all they know, and they can't adapt.
"Edginess" won't get over by itself today like it did in 1998, but ther is one positive for USA network's desire for "edginess" that is, John Cena can go back t his risque' raps again. Cena stopped rapping in 2003/4 because the censores wouldn't let him be himself, and Cena didn't want to "water down" his rap style, so he decided to just stop all together. Cena should be able to do it now. That can be Vinces scapegoat for listening to this Bonnie woman, without actually trying to live off the past.

Well, the Attitude Era is long gone and it can't come back. Chyna and Sable are way past their primes. Sable attracted a lot of fans back when WWE was just starting to show flesh. It felt risque and big back then because it was still sort of new for WWE. Now each brand has its own set of Sables. Chyna was unique because she was a female that looked like she could kick the regular wrestlers' asses. She was effective for awhile, until they started letting her talk, made her cry over Eddie, and as her looks drastically changed.
They need to focus on building characters that fans are interested in seeing and creating situations and stories that interest fans. Make fans want to see wrestler/wrestlers A wrestle wrestler/wrestlers B. Build up the tension between the wrestlers and build up to a match where there will be a payoff.
Attitude Era worked because it was a much needed change from the New Generation Era, which was possibly WWE's weakest period (though I still watched). Trying to redo the Attitude Era would not feel as fresh and different, because many of the aspects of that era are still apart of WWE today.

Well for the "Attitude" era to be brought back, WWE is going to need some competition, and they have none.
But, they could merge Smackdown and Raw as one brand, and leave ECW to it's self.
Have only one WWE World Championship, one Tag Team Champions, get rid of the United States Championship, but keep the Intercontinental Championship as there only secondary championship, bring back the European Champion and Hardcore Championship as third-tier belts, and actually book a good Cruiserweight Division.
But, I'm dreaming, right?

The Attitude Era is over.
It can't be brought back.
In fact they should be moving on and getting rid of the scratch logo would be good step.

The Attitude Era is over. It can't be brought back. In fact they should be moving on and getting rid of the scratch logo would be good step. Yep. It even seems like alot of people still think it's the attitude era today, even the WWE at times. The thing is, is that I don't even understand why people need to "name" the era, as If that if you don't have a name for the era then the era isn't good. Era's aren't even named untill they're already over with, because then you can look back and remember It's defining charactoristics. This Era Is still being defined, and I actually like it better than the attitude era. I think USA netwrok just wants stronger ratings. How about Stories! How about charactors! The reason why all successfull era's are just that is because they have the great qualities, no matter the "type" of era. I personally believe that all WWE has to do to become unstoppable again just like they were in the early and late 90's is to just keep building charactors and flood the mid-card with them. We could use a few more good main-eventers, sure, but the heart and soul of the show is the mid-card. Everytime WWE gets a great prospect, they get pushed to the main event, and the mid-card is empty. We need more John Morrisons, More Cena's, more Lashley's, but we also need more Kennedy's, more Boogeyman's, more Carlito's, and more CM Punks'. And yes, they do need a new logo.

My biggest suggestion -- no more scripted promos. Sure, give the guy an idea about what to say, but these damn things are written word by word for the guy. Let creative, talented mic workers like Punk (and maybe Kennedy? I haven't seen him unscripted but he seems to have a knack for giving promos) have their time to shine, let them do stuff that doesn't look like bad soap opera acting. Improv is a beautiful thing and it adds so much to the show.
