They should keep him out until Wrestlemania, and not even mention him after a while. Then at the Orange Bowl have a special Pipers Pit or Carlito's Cabana, or Highlight Reel or whatever they want, and just have his music hit. He may not be everyones favorite right now, but being gone for six months will definately make the heart grow fonder and he'll get one of the top pops of the night. The whole key is that they can't market him though, and they shouldn't have to because at this point, Wrestlemania sells out on name value alone.
I hope he fully recovers and comes back when he's ready, whether that's April or Summerslam or next years Survivor Series, as long as he's ready and feels right. As much as I hated that he was Champ for a whole year, it will be disappointing that he's gone. I just hope we don't get the HHH show for a year. They need to mix it up with Orton, Kennedy, hopefully Y2J and Booker, a returning HBK, and a new top face.

Damn, im gone for a few days and i miss- with the exception of Benoit- the biggest news story of the year! Even though it sucks that he's injured, i remain positive about this. Raw will have a fresh new direction for a while, which hopefully will lead to some good TV. Cena will come back refreshed, and will no doubt get one of the biggest pops of 2008 on his return. It also gets the damn belt onto someone else for a while! The only thing that worries me about this whole situation is the possibility of the belt going automatically to HHH. I'm actually a fan of Hunter, but it would just be way to predictable to give him the belt. The title needs to go to someone new, and i think the best man for the job (for now) is Randy Orton. Ah well, good luck with your recovery John, and i for one look foward to your return.

I'd love to see Cena go back to Basics when he returns.....
Basic Thugganomics, that is!
;D
I fully concur with D2 about the "you just dropped the soap" rhyme.....that was brilliance, and made me actually like the Cena character.
I'd like to see him go back to that when he returns. I never have liked the "marine" Cena.

It's creative rhyming, but he implied that he wants to f*** Brock. Kinda gay.

Have him come out on a Piper's Pit/Carlito's Cabana segment and just destroy him (works better if guy is face). He says nothing during the beatdown except at the end, where he says "It's time to take it back to basics". Next week comes out to Basic Thuganomics. Massive pops ensue.

Don't forget the throwback jersey and pump up sneaks, with the chain and lock! Seriously, I liked "punkass rapper Cena" and his feuds with the likes of Undertaker and Lesnar were some of the best mic work he's ever done. A return to those roots could be just the thing to get the people on his side again. Well, that, and him actually having some sort of difficulty or strong opposition in regaining the WWE Title.

Well, I regret it had to happen like this, but I'm glad we finally get a break from Cena.

I'm all for a return to Basic Thuganomics. He needs a Posse (Random OVW guys). Big security guard (Bobby Lashely back from his injury should allign himself with Cena). And groupies (Random Divas). And a hype man (Colt Cabana). And a Coogi sweater. He also needs to do back stage promos like the Press room after the Grammys or American Music Awards like he's answering questions from different magazine reporters. All his interviews should be done in a recording studio. All the hype videos for his matches should be done "Behind the Music" style telling the story of his feud. He should become the 50 Cent of wrestling in a way. You hate him, but he knows how make the right moves to be in the spotlight. He should use this injury as an attempt to end his career like 50's 9 shots. He needs to be more flashy and arrogant like flashing his spinner belt in the camera more. Fans would eat this up. If done right the IWC would love as well...yes would...don't shake your head...yes you would...yeah huh...yes...ok maybe not, but i would get a kick out of it so let me dream.

Just watched the match over:
Kennedy: "What better way to make a statement here on Monday night RAW, than to take out the Top Dog, and what better a man to commit such an act as....
Mr. Kennedy......Kennedy!!"
Pretty weird quote if ya ask me
Not to say that Kennedy injured him or anything

It's a shame for Cena and for WWE.
And for us... because when Cena'll be back, he'll start exactly from where he left, like Batista if you will. And that won't provide a lot of tweaks to his gimmick.
Cena will need "his" title back and whatever had happened during the 6-8 months of absence will become just filler.
