Sucks for Cena, but at least we get a breath of fresh air now that he's gone.

Why cant they just have Orton attack Cena before the match and then Punt him in the head for a 10 count. Because you would have 1000's of pissed off fans that paid $40 for a main event that lasts 10 seconds. Not good strategy.

that'd be wrestlecrap, the punt in head of doom
especially when a lot of people already know he's legitimately injured
Im glad hes going to be gone, not glad he's hurt but still lol
And those saying its "not a big deal" it most certainly is when you tear a pectoralis completely, its not going to be easy and depending on how damaged it was and the intensity of the surgery it could be even longer than Trips' quad recoveries, just because the surgery is so close to major organs.
I say he's back full strength in a year, we'll see him by Summerslam. Mania is probably a stretch.

Kayfabe wise, I'm glad. I really don't like his character nor the stupidity of his push. In reality, it sucks it had to happen like this, hope he recovers fully and quickly.

Like so many others I have to say, I was fed up with Cena as Champ and hoped for a change, but I don't wish an injury like that on anyone just because he bores and annoys me.
I once had a torn muscle in my shoulder, nowhere as serious as this, and it hurt like a bitch and took forever to heal. A muscle that's basically in movement all of the time, completely torn, that's gotta hurt like hell for a long time. Get well soon, John!

Sad to see him go like this. Like others his title reign perturbed me but I didn't want him to get injured. It's the result of steroids anyway.

I am surprised. Cena never seems to get injured. It's part of the reason why I thought they kept him as champion for so long.
Yet, I'm . . . sad that his reign ended this way. I was tired of him as champion, but it's never good when a wrestler is injured.

Randy Orton vs Johnny Nitro! If Nitro wins, we should start calling him "Mr. Opportunity"

I'd love it if, Orton was awarded the title and came out with it and called out Cena. Tried to make Cena put it around his waist. Keeping the fued going and then die down slowly. Rather than just stopping.

Sweet Lord, almost a year out of action?! I knew it was probably serious when they first reported it Monday night, but I also thought it'd be about the same severity as Edge's injury was and he would be out for like 4 months tops. Wow, the WWE really can't catch a break, do they?

Wow, the WWE really can't catch a break, do they? Well, to be fair, they set themselves up for this. I know it's not popular to say this, but a muscle tear that severe is almost assuredly the result of steroid use.

Well, the "monster" is gone, so I'm happily looking forward for the mood of the IWC to rise. That's the only positive I'm feeling so far, though.

I don't have an internet connection at my apartment (They need a new router and it sucks to be there right now so I'm at the local library) so I didn't know about Cena's injury until Vince came out on ECW last night.
Shock. Just shock. I felt sorry for Cena. The man has worked so hard and pulled out some great matches this year and it's just gone now.
I was never a person wishing for Cena to lose the belt. He's really improved and it seemed like every PPV had the chance of him losing (It was fun when he didn't and the "I knew it!" crowd complained too).
I wish him a speedy recovery.

I was indifferent to Cena as champ. I admit getting some delight in seeing people online go insane with rage that he keeps winning. (Hey, he's not HHH - it's an improvement, IMHO)
But I feel pity for him. He's the longest reigning champ in over 20 years, and THIS is how the reign ends. He doesn't even get to do a goodbye for now speech and a public handing over of the belt (like Batista got), just an announcement by Vince on a show Cena never even appeared on (well, once in a cameo AFAIK - and in recap videos maybe) and then a vague promise of "Something will happen on Sunday, we just don't know what, but IT'LL BE HISTORIC!!!!!!1111"
Hope he heals up, he's a good worker (who should be allowed to do more in the ring) and deserves more time to shine.

I hate that game and those Wrestling booking simulators. If you book main eventers in real life your show loses ratings, money, and sponsors. you book IWC darlings and the show gets 5 stars, sponsors are pouring in...blah blah blah Cena was on fire since 2006 in-ring wise. Seriously he's wrestled some of the best matches of 2007, and I hate that he has to go out not on his back or in a great match. Hoping he makes a speedy recovery right in time for Mania, I really want to see a Cena/Batista singles match
