This thread has been done before. But I'm seriously interested now in hearing opinions regarding a wrestler that's critically lauded in contrast to the Cena thread.

Is a good face for the ECW brand, maybe not as popular as Cena/Batista but he's up there and does his job well.

Love him...great on the mic (even if he's rarely allowed to show it), great in the ring. There's little more I could want in a wrestler.

Consistantly delivers good matches, good on the mic. Probably doesn't hurt I'm a fan of his ROH work, either.

He's lucky to be around now. A decade ago, he'd be lost in the shuffle with HBK, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith all in their primes. Add Brian Pillman, Vader, Undertaker, Sid, Austin to the mix, he'd be an X-Pac like success (when x-Pac was over) - good matches, good mic skills, but just another mid-level wrestler in the wrestling world.

He's consistently great, has charisma, as well as the "IT" factor. Here's to him being in this business for another 20+ years.

If the WWE would allow him to develop his own angles and give him the mic time needed to push these angles (as they allowed Stone Cold) then he could be a breakout star for them. Unfortunately, I can't see that happening. 'tis shame.

A good wrestler that actually suffers from the internet overblowing his abilities. There is no possible way any human can be as good as some people make him out to be.

Would easily be one of the top promo guys in the WWE if this was back 8-9 years ago when guy's promos weren't scripted nearly word for word. And even now, he still makes scripted lines sound better than most in WWE.
One hell of a worker when he has medium-long matches, and you can't deny him being over. I wish him nothing but success, because he entertains the smurf out of me and I want to see him in higher positions on the two big shows someday.

Really good worker who puts on great matches and is very popular. But, for some reason, I don't see him being huge in the WWE. Yes, he is the ECW champion but he would be going after the IC or US titles if he were on Raw or Smackdown.

I don't really like his look but I like his size, his style, his moves and that's he's straight edge.

His promos, when unscripted, are solid. He has a good look, although other stars have better looks. He's not so good on short TV matches- they tend to be rather repetitive IMO, but on the longer 15+ minute matches, he's very good. Certainly overrated, but still a good talent and has real future potential.

Overrated, but he is in the upperlevel of talent in the WWE.

Legendary before he hit the WWE, seems like a hard worker, exciting to watch when he's wrestling with someone that can challenge him, and he seems like a pretty nice kid.

I do like him, though I'm unsure why he's talked about as though he's the second coming.

Noticed he's been getting some boos the past couple of weeks on ECW...Morrison was being noticeable cheered and clapped when kicking out of pins.
Now the first week I put it down to just a few people with an agenda to be annoying, but it was happening this week as well? Maybe there is a new form of anti smark wrestling fan becomming more prevalent in the areanas?

Undeniably, CM Punk has been one of my favorite wrestlers in the world for the better part of the last 3 or so years. Fantastic psychology, both in the ring and with the crowd, very good athleticism, and an innovative in ring performer.
But... Since coming to WWE, he's been forced to change his style, and while he may be adjusting better, he is just simply not as entertaining as he was ever in ROH.
He is in my top 3 of WWE stars, though, still.

He definitely seems to care about what he's doing in the ring, and there is a certain amount of uniqueness to him that sets him apart from the rest which in turn makes him stand out.
He definitely puts on entertaining matches, and I welcome his style as a direct contrast from the other generic guys on the roster.
People say that WWE has somehow misused him, but I argue that they did a tremendous job in building him up to a credible maineventer and presenting him as such to the wider WWE audience, while at the same time banking off his popularity and fan base that he acquired in the indies.
He definitely is one of the WWE's future main guys like Kennedy and others, and I truly can see him in the uppercard on the main show because the WWE cares about his character, give him time and he'll be just as great as he has proven that he can be.
