He also may have been checking for blood. This is true, also. Why am I agreeing with a Thread Pirate? Because It's a good point.

Now I'm not the biggest Hart fan (In fact I hate him) but I'm looking forward to this book. There are only two ways this can turn out. 1. Bret grows some Mahoneys and starts thinking how other poeple feel about some events, and why they did what they did or said what they said. This would maybe completly change my oppinion about the man. 2. He goes on pregnant doging about everything in his life that went wrong. This hopefully would make people realise that he is just a bitter old has been, which doesn't appericate the things life gave him at all. Kind of like the Ultimate Warrior without the epeleptic attacks. So no matter how this turns out: I WIN. So you want him to trash himself and make the WWE look good because you're a WWF mark or you're going to trash him because he criticize the WWE?

Dumb. He's already made his peace with Vince and said he understands why he did what he did and said that Vince understands Bret's point of view also. A lot of idiotic wrestling fans can't seem to grasp this and like to complain about Bret "whining". I'm not talking Vince alone here. Sure he made up with VinnieMac because it was getting unrealistic. But still in every interview i've read about him. He's just going all emo about all kinds of stuff. He even did it on his own freakin DVD Boxset. Bysides it's pretty hard to not like Bret here in germany. Everybody and there cousin in an other city loves the guy. So when you say just one bad thing about him to an other fan, you are in deep trouble. I'm talking Frankenstein movie climax here. Angry mob and torches. So maybe I'm a little bitter myself. On the other hand I as off late wasn't even half as lucky in live as he was. So, basically, you're upset that Bret has his own opinion and not an opinion that agrees with you and the WWE?

There's probably atleast 8 chapters dedicated to how much he hates Shawn Michaels You guys, Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon are the ones obsessing over Bret's dislike of Michaels.

How great would it be if Bret made absolutely no mention of Montreal in his book. I, for one, would find it refreshing. After all he dealt with that situation in "Wrestling With Shadows" and a majority of those who are going to buy his book have allready seen it or have at least heard his take on it. I would definitely appreciate not having to hear about Montreal again in this book. Why would he cut out an important story in his AUTOBIOGRAPHY! It would be cheap and a copout if he ignored something that big.

I'm not surprised. This board bashes Hogan, Flair, Shawn, so Bret isn't going to get away scotch free. What people fail to realize is that if it wasn't for these people, the current wrestlers wouldn't be making half as much as they are. Amen!

No. Not the best comparison there. I know what you're trying to say but no. Wrestling books are filled with lies and stories completely contradict each other so it's rather a useless endeavour reading them. I definitely trust your opinion on the subject since you've never read one. As long as you're sharing your wisdom with us, could you give me some travel tips relating to someplace you've never been or reccomend any good movies you haven't seen? You know, I am a member of wrestling forums. The amount of topics there have been topics discussing wrestlers books and the amount of lies and false stories have been more than a few. I read about Bischoffs book, Shawns, Hulks, Foleys etc etc I hate the "you can have no opinion until you've read/seen/heard", of course I can.

Yeah, he had the John McClane thing going on. It's funny someone else noticed that, it was very annoying. As for his book, I won't read it. I've never read nor will ever read a wrestling book. I know it's going to be their perspective so I know I'll never get the truth about things, or even if I am I'll be skeptical to believe it. Do you watch the news at all? Not really, no and if I do it's generally BBC. Them, or just the local news.

Well after reading from many sites that Wrestling books are filled with lies, and filled with half-truths and lies and considering these guys aren't going to outright say they were assholes, it makes me not want to read one. They're not going to admit they were wrong if they were, it's common sense really.

Can't wait for this one. He is my favorite wrestler of all time. It should be interesting to hear some of the stories from some of my other favorites like Davey Boy, Owen, Pillman, etc. same here, I want to know EVERYTHING about my wrestling hero, warts and all. Thirded. As strange as it might sound, the worse the stories Bret's willing to admit to the more admiration I might gain for him. I respect anyone who doesn't beat around the bush with what they've done.

What's the backstory with him and Bubba? I haven't heard. I don't think there is one, it's just that pretty much everybody calls Bubba Ray Dudley an asshole. (See: Batista's new book.) Breaking News... Sports entertainer Mark Lamonica, who's wrestled in ECW,WWE, and now TNA under various gimmicks as Buh Buh Ray Dudley, Bubba Ray Dudley and Brother Ray, according to backstage sources may or may not be an asshole. ~Rajah.com~

I almost don't want to read this. Bret Hart was my childhood hero. He was favorite wrestler by far. I want to read this book but I don't want it to drastically change my view on him. I tried reading his sister's book once..and she painted Davey Boy to be a horrible person. I had to stop reading it because it was ruining my childhood. See now I'm lucky, I had my father to do that for me. So now I can read what I like without fear.

Well after reading from many sites that Wrestling books are filled with lies, and filled with half-truths and lies and considering these guys aren't going to outright say they were assholes, it makes me not want to read one. They're not going to admit they were wrong if they were, it's common sense really. Not really. I've read a bunch of them and it's not at all unusual for guys to own up to mistakes that they've made. Also, there are more books that are wrestling related than just wrestler's autobiographies. Wrestlecrap is one, for example. There are also more scholarly works; for instance, right now I'm reading a history of the National Wrestling Alliance that's written by an author who's done research the same as if it were a book about the history of Disney or something. Furthermore, whether or not somebody was wrong is a subjective matter. You might read a book where a wrestler claims not to have been in the wrong in a certain situation, but you determine that what they're saying doesn't add up to your satisfaction. In that case, you've gotten that person's perspective and chosen to accept or reject it based on your own judgement. It's something any astute reader should do no matter what subject you're reading about.

I got Bret's book today, plus pre-ordered Jericho's........only 50 pages or so into Bret's book, but so far, it seems very honest.

Most of the way done Bret's book now. I am enjoying it quite a bit.
Definately worth the cash if you're a Bret Hart fan.
I'll post a review when I'm all done.
