This could be potentially very good news for WWE. If NBC start putting them on prime time, even when the strike's over, some of the audience might continue watching on USA.
But yeah, I just hope this strike doesn't mess with Lost.

Wow, this could be potentially HUGE for WWE.
They need to sort the product out, if this happens.

Surely the writers strike wont effect this season of heroes anyway? How does that work? Surely they have a decent stock of them already filmed/written?
I mean, i like Raw and all, obviously as im here, but Heroes is the best damn show on tv and i certainly don't want it held up by a bunch of greedy pinko commie writers or replaced, even with WWE.

It might affect impact in that way as well. Although I don't think Viacom own any of the network channels.

Even more viewers can watch raw if it went on nbc for some time. And could bring them over to usa. Very good news for wwe if this happens.

People laughed at me when I said the Writer's Strike was the reason ECW wouldn't get cancelled...

Awesome. More wrestling on TV... Nope, it would most likely be Raw moving to NBC for a while. They could really expand their audience, if they provide them with some good writing and storytelling.

Heroes should be OK until just over halfway through the season. It'll be the later episodes that won't get made. They've held up production of the spinoff Heroes: Origins.
As for the later new series, like 24 and Lost, they've only made 8 episodes of 24 so far, and they're struggling as it is with those fires. ABC are considering moving Lost back even further to see how the strike plays out.

Is this strike actually going to happen? Or is it all just speculation at this point?

ECW will probably end up getting another show on sci fi. So, we'll see Morrison/CM Punk twice a week.

I've been hearing all this talk about a writer's strike, but I don't know much about it. When is this supposed to go down?

Supposedly, this will cost Hollywood $500,000,000. You have to think making concessions to the writers guild would just be a lot cheaper.

Is this strike actually going to happen? Or is it all just speculation at this point? There's still a slim possibility that might not, but there's been very little movement on either side to prevent it. The strike is WGA only and is primarily aimed at TV (people assumed it was movie-targeted, but everything for 2008-2009 is pretty much set up already)

You would think it would make sense to write the show before production starts.
Still, i hope this all gets sorted quickly so Heroes isnt too screwed over. Not coming back until February last year killed off ratings in shows like Jericho, and although that probably wont happen to heroes, it'll annoy me having to hang around waiting for it!!!

At first it'll be shows like The Daily Show or The Colbert Report that rely heavily on topical jokes, then it'll be the big TV dramas and comedies. We should know by the weekend if there's going to be a strike or not.

Only show I really know is "safe" is Prison Break. I read that they already written the 13 episodes before their usual "hiatus". So if the strike does happen, the supposed "cliffhanger" for episode 13 will be their season finale.

Most shows write half seasons, then while they air write series of scripts. They have to make concessions for schedules, possible changes in actors, a whole bunch of stuff that can killa show if the writer's aren't there to fix it. Saturday Night Live will go bye bye QUICK. Prepare for a few months of "The Best Of...." stuff. Probably the only safe shows are Simpsons and Family Guy as they HAVE to write the episodes rather far in advance.
