I genuinely don't understand why Test didn't become a bigger deal. His physique and in-ring style are like Vince's ideals, and he's not terrible on the mic. Vince has pushed many guys who were much worse but with similar physiques.
Though I guess he just happened to be around during an era when larger than life personalities are what really worked and drew people in, and there were just...so many of them that a guy with a good look and a decent personality can't compete with a bunch of dudes who have incredible and vibrant personalities all over the card.

I was like 11-13 during the heyday of Nitro, so of course I always thought they were an extremely cool idea and I always wanted to be a part of one.

He would be spray painted often. I do wonder how a Nash vs. Vader match would've been. Speaking as a big fan of both Nash and Vader, that match probably would've sucked. A lot. Like really bad. Nash has never been tremendous in the ring; he's stylish but his moveset is small and he works best in a tag team situation. Vader is a tremendous talent but I don't think Nash would've allowed Vader to carry him to that great match. I think it would've been dogshit, unfortunately.

Yo this is so cool, you're lucky to have it.
Also I've seen his art before, but still, Jerry is such a surprisingly good artist.

My God the new design is disgusting I may be an outlier here but I actually really love the new design. The font choice is excellent and I just really like the feel of it overall. It feels like when artists and designers in the 90s were incorporating bits of Art Deco into their styles. It looks sick in my opinion.

That Asexuality thread has some scary incel energy all over the place I read through that whole thing, and what gets me is the utterly normal voice of reason and constructive problem solving that is chazraps. He's valiantly trying to salvage that dumpster fire thread. Chaz is a god damned treasure of a human being.

Mine's August 9th:
Chris Jericho made his WWE debut
Ric Flair won his fifth NWA championship
Sabu beat Terry Funk in a barbed wire match to win the ECW title
It's Alexa Bliss' birthday.
And most importantly, Chris Benoit and David Flair wrestled for the US title.

The Star Wars prequels, while flawed, are actually great movies and tell an excellent story.
The Matrix sequels were great.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a very fun movie and a worthwhile alternate adaptation of the book.
Friday the 13th (the original) is just so boring.
Super Troopers was okay at best.
None of the Saw movies are any good.

The look was good.
The concept was...not.
It could've worked if they attached a completely different concept to the character. But a weird pedophile lurking outside of kids' windows? Nah...that doesn't have any mileage.

Jeff Jarrett was never over, never any good in the ring and was hated by the Mcmahon clan after screwing them over for money. He was talented and over enough he could get a misogynist gimmick to work AS INTENDED as a heel, at a time people who were mistreating women got face pops because of the garbage nature of the attitude era. He was a good enough hand WCW wanted him, pre Russo and he was getting gigs in major promotions after TNA. He didn't ask for a penny more than he was due when he left the WWF, and put over Chyna when he could have just forfeited the title on his way out and left her dead in the water. When his wife died, Vince was one of the first people to reach out, he was close to Hunter as well, riding with the Kliq back in the day so when he stopped playing promoter, there was a job waiting for him in the WWE. 100%. I've been a Jarrett apologist for years. He's a good wrestler and is much more charismatic than he has ever been given credit for. Your point about him getting the misogynist gimmick over as intended just speaks so much to that. He deserves his HOF induction and frankly he should've been inducted earlier. I also very much enjoyed his work in TNA, but I also like long/frequently reigning heel champions.

Back in 1991, Bill Watts did an interview with PW Torch and made these comments: - “If you want a business and you put money in, why shouldn’t you be able to discriminate? It’s your business,”
- “That’s why I went into business, so that I could discriminate.”
- “I can’t tell a fag to get the f*** out. I should have the right to not associate with a fag if I don’t want to. I mean, why should I have to hire a f***in’ fag, if I don’t like fags? Fags discriminate against us, don’t they? Sure they do.”
- “Who’s killed more blacks than anyone? The f***in’ blacks. But they want to blame that bullshit Roots that came on the air. That Roots was so bullshit. All you have to do if you want slaves is to hand beads to the chiefs and they gave you slaves. What is the best thing that has ever happened to the black race? That they were brought to this country. No matter how they got here. You know why? Because they intermarried and got educated. They’re the ones running the black race.”
- “Lester Maddox was right. If I don’t want to sell fried chicken to blacks I shouldn’t have to. It’s my restaurant. Hell, at least I respect him for his stand.”
Maddox catapulted to infamy in 1964 while operating a chicken and burger restaurant in Atlanta at which he refused to serve blacks. He also drove them from his restaurant with a pistol and pickax in hand. He closed his business after a federal court ruled that he must integrate the facility. In 1994, Mark Madden brought the interview to the attention of Hank Aaron. Mr. Aaron — who, at this point, was not only a baseball legend and a prominent civil rights figure, but also an important executive with Turner Broadcasting — petitioned to have Watts fired. Or Watts quit for other reasons, if you want to believe his word. Either way, Watts was out and Ole Anderson was in, albeit temporarily. Not long after, Turner decided to go with a choice outside the box, Eric Bischoff. "Easy E" went on to fire Anderson, take WCW to Monday nights to compete with the WWF, and eventually change the entire wrestling business. This has gotta be one of the absolute worst. Watts was such a piece of shit.

Rick Martel being in WCW in the late 90s. I genuinely thought he retired in like... 1994. His late WCW career is actually when I was introduced to him! Even though he didn't have much of a character and didn't do a lot at that point, for some reason I just really liked him.
