Randy Orton *prepares for seemingly everybody disagreeing with me * I'm an Orton fan. If he didn't screw up so much I'm willing to bet he would have taken the belt from Cena at some point.

Ok if we are talking about guys who really aren't "pro" wrestlers yet let alone even belong in a real wrestling ring with a real wrestler like Cena I could understand Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson...if we're talking about guys who have actually "made it" in this business I'd have to go with Umaga, Jericho or Christian (if he ever came back).

The guy's been King of the King, two time MitB, tag champ, IC champ, WWE champ, and world champ. It's tough to see the 'holding down' part. I agree. Which is why these HHH things bug the hell out of me...maybe I'm just falling victim to the IWC machine. I just like the guy a lot and didn't like seeing HBK go over him which leads me to worry that maybe it's true.

1) Hail Snitsky.
2) I'm a big HHH fan but this thing he has against Edge really bothers me...how can everyone in the world love the guy but HHH and the guy with Wolf chick in his sig hate him?
I don't get it. If this is true it sounds like HHH is really jealous of the guy. That bothers me.
edit: Thanks for these updates. I really enjoy them.

This is really lame. The crowd wasn't bad. Where does this stuff come from? If you thought they were great, fine that's your opinion but they were awful tonight,IMO. I don't think they were great but I think this is over the top reacting to what it really was. To be honest, and I was talking with my buddy during the show a lot but I watched it in my home on surround sound and had no idea the crowd was anything but fine until I logged in here tonight and started reading the board.

Awesome show. As good of a non-big four show as I have ever seen.
Best Match: Cena vs. Khali (For sheer shock and awe. Had that big time Main Event feel and delivered in the end.)
Worst Match: Orton vs. HBK mostly because HBK's concussion impression was a lot more like a drunken sorority girl impression...
Loved the card. Carlito/Flair and Punk/Burke were given a ton of time and made the most of it...I thought the Burke and Punk match stole the show until the moment Khali tapped...
...I still don't know where they are going with the Hardy's vs. The Redneck gentleman angle but I like it...we got our classic Vince screw-job...MVP with the huge 2-0 win...man this guy is the next great thing...Edge with the clever victory and the Main Event...Classic hero vs. Unstoppable Monster booking with The Champ going over huge...what more is there to say.
Great show.

So...why won't they main event then? I meant WWE doesn't push the guys who are clearly better wrestlers because they need roided/fat muscular guys like Henry, Khali, Cena etc. etc. Cena: Roided fat muscular guy. Who knew? Great post. Very well thought out.

Great show. Top to bottom this show was awesome...
MVP winning 2 Falls to 0...
Edge with the clever win...
Vince screw job ending...
Awesome Main Event with a shocker of an ending...great show.
Cena > Your favorite wrestler.

Cena Edge Vince (I'll be surprised in Bobby wins it back so soon...) MVP Punk
I'd also like to Henry on the show...Flair vs. Carlito, The Hardy's vs. Cade and Murdoch on the show.
Wouldn't mind Cor Von super spearing Sabu across the ring again somewhere in there too.

I didn't get to see the PPV, but a friend did. He told me that he didn't like Burke/Punk. To quote: "How am I supposed to believe that someone with hurt ribs can do a delayed vertical suplex or would even WANT to try one? You know what, I do have to give your friend that one. I loved the match, but two times in it Punk had me going ...huh? He held Burke up for 20 or so seconds in that delayed suplex with his ribs. Tazz was trying to cover like hell for it. Then the dive to the floor. He sold it well, but why in the world would you want to do that with bad ribs? Overall he sold the ribs fine, but those two times made me scratch my head. Anyone who has ever been in a fight while injured knows those kind of things don't pop into your head. I bounced for seven years and had many a problem while hurt to injured and never once does it cross your mind during a fight that you should or shouldn't go all out...not to mention when in a fight the adrenaline often blocks out the pain...maybe that was the mentality of the story of the match...I don't know. But that's how I viewed it.

. If Cena was a weak PPV draw he wouldn't be champion for as long as he has been. After all the goal of the WWE is to make money not whizz off the IWC. You make more money off of house shows than PPVs. So as long as they aren't losing money on PPVs, Cena draws well as the champ based off house shows. PPV buys aren't end all be all. I agree 100%. I just disagree that he is a "weak" PPV draw. I was at MANIA and I'm telling you, a great majority of the people there were there to either see him win or see him lose. He's a huge draw.

how is listing official PPV buys an opinion? I'm at work so I don't have the time I would normally take here but... he states a fact like a PPV number then throws his opinion in there about how while the numbers are good they are crap vs. what so and so will draw, or should draw, or vs. Boxing and the UFC etc...if you read it you know what I mean... he always has an excuse even when the numbers are good... I have read in there recently not sure what issue...but that the PPV numbers are the best they have been in 5 years... then he trashes it...like I said...WO is a good read but it's not like the guy is the end all be all of wrestling info. just my opinion.

Cena only draws at house show he is a very weak PPV draw, Meltzer talks about it regularly in his newsletter and posts the numbers to prove it. I read the WO too but take it for what it is...a decent read but one man's opinion. If Cena was a weak PPV draw he wouldn't be champion for as long as he has been. After all the goal of the WWE is to make money not whizz off the IWC. besides, if you really do read it you know PPV numbers are up over the past couple of years, not down.

I don't know man...when WCW was kicking their butts they weren't selling out too well. I see what you are saying but I think it is a tad bit of a cop-out. If this were true ECW would be getting huge ratings because it's under the WWE banner but they don't. But ECW is seen as the "Weaker" brand anyway You are 100% correct...by that same theory to most of the IWC Cena is considered a "Weaker" Champion than other options available but he still draws... So I see your point and agree with it to a certain extent but at the same time I don't think you sell tix with a logo and a logo alone.

If Punk/Burke were on Raw/SD regularly (and not jobbed out), I think you'd have seen a much better reaction to them. I totally agree with this. Great point.

Ha. It's reading stuff like this that makes me love being a Cena fan. I think the Punk/Burke match was very good...but let's be serious...if it was matches like that that sold tix, ROH would be selling out major arenas and not Cena vs. Khali... ROH couldn't draw 20,000 fans if you gave every guy on the roster two pencils and nine notebooks each...these kind of matches are GREAT for the undercard and I think they did a hell of a job... But it's Cena and Khali who sold the tix and it's Cena and Khali that put on the best show of the night. That's wrestling people. That's all it is. You're saying that like Cena/Khali was a huge draw. Wait 'til the numbers 'til you start spinning your belt. I don't know if it will be a HUGE draw but best I could tell the place was sold out...someone else said "It's WWE it's going to sell anyways..." or something to that effect and I agree with that...But it's more than that.

That crowd sucked all night, until it came time to mark out for Cena. So they shouldnt take the crowd into consideration this time. It was one crowd, that just happened to suck. Ha.
