With the crushing weight of actually living up to the hype, you would hope that Auston Matthews' illness is something serious like malaria because man he's been questioned to be soft and sitting out an elimination game in hockey is a cardinal sin. Guys have gutted it out with separated shoulders, torn ligaments, broken ribs, broken hands, Chara had that broken jaw. And then they go out and win. Phew, that's a tough look. Good for Tavares though. He really pushed the defense and made something happen. Knies in the right place at the right time. It’s the playoffs. Unless you can’t physically stand, you haul your ass out there. Gutless team with gutless leaders. Yeah, it's different than football where guys are too macho and think they're athletic god incapable of being stopped. NHL players know they're just dudes, but they can't look around the room and quit. They could have a leg falling off and still say they're good to go. Worse case scenario they try to gut it out and get told by the team they can't go. Auston being out so far in advance tells me he didn't try too much to get out there, if at all.

I liked Yam Yam, but I feel like he and Shan both got so much screen time that I could go a very long time without seeing them play again. I just couldn’t stand his “If you’re not actively trying to help me win the game, you’re a garbage person and must be destroyed” attitude. Yeah, it's a thin line between being entertaining and being an asshole. Or just being Colton.

Idk how much this will hit if it's too new era heavy. There really isn't a lot from 41 plus I really want to see again. Hell even the one I'd consider to be the best player of the 40's (Jesse from 43) wasn't really a great character. Sure there's great players, but is anyone really asking for more Yam Yam and Shan? I despise Yam Yam, so not me. Now, I could go for a round 2 of Gabler. I liked Yam Yam, but I feel like he and Shan both got so much screen time that I could go a very long time without seeing them play again.

I feel like they starve the contestants more so they get more emotion out of the modern day gamebot casts.

My least favorite part of the season is the Applebee's commercial. Bring back the Bula Burger Bar!

As a Bruins fan, I feel like I'm already starting to get that same, awful pit in my stomach that comes with remembering last year's Florida series. Last year, the Bruins held a 3 games to 1 lead over Florida, coming home with a chance to close out the Panthers. The Panthers won an overtime game in Boston to send the series back to Florida after switching goalies mid-series, then won a close Game 6, then beat the Bruins in Boston in Game 7. It's hard not to feel like this could be history repeating itself, so Boston better close it out on Thursday night or there will be 17,000-plus antsy Bruins fans filing into the Garden on Saturday for a deciding seventh game. I think Boston's goaltending advantage will definitely give them one of the next 2 games, if not ending it next game. Woll played great last night, but how long can he play over his head?

So LaMelo got this thing on his back: Not sure being a rare one is a good thing when he's always injured. Mf it's rare to see your ass on the court.

Fun fact: Embiid has shot 4/22 from the field in the 4th quarter this series. Must be the ghost of Ben Simmons lol

Elimination game and Embiid shrinks again, only going to OT because of Maxey.

Sixers are ass. Embiid not even looking where he's passing, Batum overthrows Maxey when he's 10 feet ahead of everyone on the court. It's like they want their season to be over too. NY doesn't look particularly good, but they look good enough. They might miss Bojan's shooting once the games get tougher. They've really filled in their depth gaps though with Donte, Hart, and OG. If only Randle were healthy. Really underrated roster-building though. Thibs just need to learn to call offensive plays. It is basically play defense, get a steal and try to run for a lay up Brunson, make something happen. Also, Brunson always look like he's about to cry or what? I don't recall that, but every time the camera shows him tonight he looks on the verge of tears.

This has Gabe Sapolsky vibes NBA coaches are essentially just scapegoats. Everyone loses the room because the power is already imbalanced from jump. There's like 4 coaches in the league who can actually make orders and everyone else is waiting to lose so they can get thrown under the bus.

I would say I can't believe the Bills made that trade, but it is the Bills... So you are of the belief that Worthy to the Chiefs is a good pick. Yeah. I like Coleman a little bit more all-around than Worthy, but Worthy opens up the field a lot for the Chiefs. I think Brown's speed is a little overstated and I think Worthy is that home run type threat that stretches defenses deep. And Reid is gonna love that, because it's going to help make up for the lack of a true #1 WR and makes his playcalling life easier. Not that the league wasn't already having trouble with him.

Jeremiah Trotter Jr to the Eagles. Reminds me of the NFL I loved. He fell like a rock because LBs that suck in space with questionable cover skills value is heavily finished in today's game. I wouldn't even say fell, he was never thought to be a high prospect. His dad was f***ing huge, he isn't. His dad was a one-man run defense, he isn't. Hell, there is no premium on non-rush LBs in today's game. Great traditional LB prospects go late-1st, early-2nd. Trotter Jr is slightly below-average and would go later if not for the family connection.
