There was swearing tonight. Made me happy. Well, the election is over.

I know, the word is hailing. Mike McGuirk used to say unhailing a lot. Look up some of videos with her doing the ring announcing.

Who marked out when they heard, "promotional consideration paid for by the following..."?

I loved how they downplayed all the pyro, lights, video screens, smoke, etc. I wish the set was like this from now on. All the special effects they now add to Raw has become overkill.

What are some of the subtle things you were able to catch from tonight's Old School Raw ?
When Justin Roberts would be announce people, he was say,"unhailing from ..." I haven't heard the word unhailing since the early 90s.
Then how about when Cena and Orton started fighting and the officials in suits broke it up.
Wrestlers were cutting pre-taped picture-in-picture promos while standing behind the marble grey background. They used the marble grey background for pre-taped promos in the late 80s.

Have this even been discussed ? Just take a look at all the divas who have graced the cover.
Sable makes the cover in April of 1999, but departs from the WWE about two months later.
Next was Chyna. Chyna made the cover in November of 2000. Her last WWF TV appearance is in May 2001.
Torrie Wilson is the only exception. She appeared on the cover in 2003 and stayed with the WWE until 2008.
Sable did Playboy again in March of 2004 and was gone from the WWE by August of that year.
Christy appeared on the April 2005 cover. Christy would go on to leave the WWE that December.
Candice Michelle appeared on the cover in 2006 and lasted in the WWE until June 19, 2009. I guess three years isn't bad.
Does anybody remember Ashley Massaro ? She seemed like a flash in the pan. Her Playboy came out in Feb 2007 and she was gone by July 2008.
Finally, Maria did Playboy in Feb of 2008 and was gone by early 2010.
Overall, there isn't much longevity for a WWE Diva once she has done the Playboy shoot.

Another thing about women. You see some women wear skimpy outfits to the ring, as well as take part in bikini contests, but when there are bra and panties matches, the women feel embarrassed about being stripped down. I can understand about them feeling pissed about being stripped against their will, but some of them act like they never flaunted their bodies before. Especially in a clip I saw of Kristal and Layla. Their tops weren't that much bigger than their bras, but they still felt embarrassed after Jillian ripped off their tops. This one is a major pet peeve of mine: The fact that wrestlers still wear their ring gear, despite not being scheduled to wrestle at the event. I see this all the time. You see backstage segments with some people looking like they're dressed for action, pads, tights, everything, and they're not even on the card. There's also the fact that wrestlers come out to cut a promo in their tights as well. At least back in the Attitude Era, or even after that, there used to be moments when a wrestler came out to cut a promo in street clothes or a suit, a la Evolution. Aren't the 2nd and 3rd string NFL players still dressed to play on gameday ?

When Jarrett is heel and carries the guitar to the ring, every match ends with the guitar coming into play. If you were a babyface, the logical thing for you to do is get Jarrett incapacitated, then go to the outside and take the guitar and smash it over the ring post. That way you have neutralized his offense.

Did anybody realize the continuity problem with the back story in the angle ? Bret and Piper were billed as childhood friends. At Wrestlemania 8, Piper even cut a promo in which he recalled the times he spent at the Hart house as a kid. Yet, Piper's gimmick was that of a man who was born and raised in Scotland. So when during Piper's childhood youth was he taking trips over the ocean to spend time with Harts in Calgary ?

Is it just me, or is Wade boring to listen to on the mic ? Though he is British, I think William Regal is one of the best talkers in the business.

Do superstars now have to meet a quota for the number of times to mention "WWE Universe" within a given show ? When they first introduced the slogan, I though it could be cool, but now it is just getting too redundant. Within every 5 minutes of a given Raw or Smackdown, somebody is mentioned the phrase.
I was watching a clip of segment in which Luke Gallows broke away from CM Punk. Gallows grabbed Punk held him against the wall while he preceded to cut a serious promo. It was a really good promo until he interjected something about the WWE Universe.
I haven't watched much recently, but I hope they aren't having Taker include "WWE Universe" in his promos. That would kill his gimmick. I would cringe to hear something like, "Kane, for all the members of WWE Universe, you will rest in peace!"

No longer will you hear the commentators refer to the talent as wrestlers , the television show as wrestling or the audience members as fans.
That begs the question, is the word "wrestling" in World Wrestling Entertainment now the adjective and no longer the noun. It is Wrestling Entertainment, as in it is entertainment that has resemblance of wrestling.

My theory is that WWE management had these rookies improvise a beat-down to see how well they can call stuff in the ring spontaneously.

Here is another way the announcers missed the boat last night. When Stryker was interviewing Eli, someone should have said, "Since he has been eliminated he has grown a full mustache."

The beatdown hasn't even been mentioned on WWE.com. Wonder if they are just going to drop it all together and pretend it never happened? Kinna like how the Husky Harris beatdown on Matt Stryker never happened. I thought there was going to be an angle there, but it went nowhere.
