Alright, so if anyone else is coming to this thread late, heads up that Collision talk starts on page 786 so if you want to read up until Collision and and then watch the show, it's on page 786.

PAGE 800.
Time to go back and read from Page 744. I heard Punk was terminated at the Minnesota State Fair today while sipping a delicious ribbon winning Carribean Lemonade from the West Indies booth of the International Bazaar. Going to take in this one sipping a Diet Pepsi after a soothing bath bomb. I trust it was an amicable split, pretty cut and dry and didn't go mentioned on "Colission?"

Hey gang, I had a busy day today at the Minnesota State Fair where I didn't have cell reception, but I got to try a bunch of delicious foods and introduced The Bob Mould Band and Dillinger Four at the Hold Steady show at the Grand Stand, and then - since my cell battery was low, I turned it off immediately after Ubering from the State Fair to my local MSP Film Society Theater where I hosted a packed midnight screening of the 2001 cult classic 'Wet Hot American Summer.' Just got home now and have my phone charging - I miss any updates today?

Used to listen to Jimmy Buffet on cassette as my dad drove me to school.
Here's a delightfully strange late era Jimmy Buffet track everyone should hear at least once in their life. From 1999, behold Jimmy Buffet's "Math Suks"

I wonder if Bryan is returning early as he has a history with Ricky and they can do the "you challenged the dragon, and you'll get the dragon... THE AMERICAN DRAGON."

I've enjoyed Ian's worked since he was doing ROH DVD bonus feature dark match commentary. Especially those early *early* Women of Honor matches, he just made everything that much better being on the mic.
I can only assume Ian's looking forward tomorrow because he keeps getting better every day.
He and Colt were amazing (and probably still would be), he and Coleman are always amazing - Ian's knowledgable without being insidery or meta and a professional welcoming presence who calls it like a sport without downplaying the dramatic storyline aspects. He's someone you'd be proud to have at the booth when showing a prospective wrestling fan a match.
AND he's a fellow NYUnicorn.

I started wavering on the Punk train, to be very specific, in the press conference/weigh-in the night before his first UFC fight where he did nothing but big leaguing childish wrestling shit. When you make yourself look that embarrassingly immature in a UFC environment of all places, it's bad. It solidified every criticism of him "taking a spot" in UFC as completely spot-on and valid. But we all have off days. The point of no return was not paying for Colt's costs in the lawsuit like he said he would. Once that got out, it was like "Wow, this guy sucks. What a shitty thing to do." And then the more and more pieces that come out about that, like the judge dismissing the initial filing from Colt "with prejudice" meaning he definitely saw something there but needed the lawyers to word it differently, to the reason for the falling out being Punk getting buyers remorse and using Colt getting pizza with Sami, Kevin and PAC as a reason to cut him out and think he "betrayed him," to the absolutely gross bringing Colt's mom into it and trying to make the very real very America "sharing a bank account with your Mom" taking care of your parents consideration seem like a bad thing. Just abhorrent. And I used to absolutely love his work. He just drags everything down around him. I don't know if the present-day Punk fans still adore him as some sort of wish-fulfillment or a nostalgia for where they were in their lives when he was on top, or just a level of blinders where they can just take when they see of the guy that airs on television and then project that into the only way they perceive how he is in his everyday life - but I think everyone will eventually either hit their limit on Punk or just full-on identify as a bigger fan of Punk himself than the medium of wrestling itself. What do you mean by the dismissed with prejudice part? I thought Colt and Punk settled, so any settlement would be conditioned on the case being dismissed with prejudice (which means you can’t bring the case again). That was the time before the time they settled, the very first time Colt took legal action against Punk before a judge in 2018.

OK, what's disco elysium and is it available for PS4? I feel like, based on the screenshots, that personal preference it wouldn't be my kind of game per se, but based on this thread I'm willing to try it.

I still love that Danhausen, but him vanity search Punk and quote-tweet responding blue checks with less than 500 followers with a GIF (especially one of someone from an iconic sketch where the whole point is that the person himself is lying) is such a bad look -

You know it's been a day when the TNA faux-scaffold-bigfoot tapings from 2015 got three separate mentions.

I just watched Big Daddy V vs. CM Punk from 2007 and this might be the funniest match in human history. Big Daddy V just beats the f***ing shit out of him for 5 minutes, spinkicks him out of the ring, then knocks dude in to the announce desk and wins by countout while Punk cries on the floor like a wounded sea creature. Isn't that the 2008 match? The 2007 one (No Mercy 2007 I believe) had the baffling Matt Striker interference finish. Both laughably weird. EDIT: Wait, I misread that. There's a 2008 match where Punk has a countout victory that he over the top celebrates and I believe it's sadly V's last WWE match. It's also so funny and weird. This is the trilogy that deserves a special edition DVD.

Today is TV's Frank's birthday, so in celebration I uploaded from my VHS archives his 2001 stand-up performance from NBC's Late Friday that doesn't seem to exist anywhere else on the internet. This clip really helped me build my MST3K collection in the tape trading days and I'm happy to 22 years later bring it to the internet. Enjoy! archive.org/details/frank-late-friday-2001

I genuinely love reDRagon era Fish and KOR. They were so good for each other as evil hipsters - such a genuinely timely gimmick for 2013/2014 and they both grew so much as promos and characters. Fish helped KOR shake off all the bad Davey Richards habits and had someone to regularly playoff so he could grow as a promo.
The Fish Tank was a great segment in ROH, and I really like the majority of his TV title reign.
He was a breath of fresh air in 2012 ROH, was amazing in reDRagon, and was an absolutely necessary part of Undisputed Era. Given the wonders he did for KOR, I think he'd still have some quality gems to drop on a new up-and-coming talent or talents still finding themselves. Make him the heel leader or heel enforcer second-in-command of a faction.
Also, I thought he had amazing chemistry with Jay Briscoe both in tag matches and singles.

In all seriousness, what's kind of gotten lost in the Perry-Punk-Glass discourse is today's revelation that Perry had cleared the "Real glass" spot on that fateful Collision weeks prior and it wasn't until the alleged day-of that Punk, of all people, objected and told him he couldn't do it.
Regardless how you feel about whether using "Real glass" is stupid or really, really stupid (a case could be made for both sides) Perry clearing something with the higher ups and then having a fellow talent being the one to tell him he couldn't do that is valid gripe. You could replace Punk with anyone else on the roster telling him he couldn't do that and it'd be just as frustrating and f***ed up.
