That basically guarantees that the evidence is assuredly showing something Punk doesn't want out in the open. He'll keep passive aggressively taking potshots at AEW to appease his diehards for sure, but the moment he tries to do a full-blown podcast/interview akin to AoW is going to be met with immediate defamation suit that has STRONG backing. AND/OR he's broke.

Random thought, but MJF and Eddie are the two local boys in world title matches next Wednesday...might be possible that they're both getting that spot so the crowd will take it better if one of them loses, but the other wins. Might not mean anything, but just popped into my head. OR, what if they both win and tease a Benoit/Eddie Mania 20 moment at the end (canonically, going back 20 years, Kingston has always publicly respected Samoa Joe, going as far as to say during the ROH-CZW feud that he likes him and thinks he's the only legitimate one on their roster) but then Joe attacks Kingston establishing Joe as a mega heel and planting the seed down the road for a Kingston-Joe match/feud.

Survivor series, which is in Chicago is in 2 months. Either they are keeping shit in wraps or Punk thinks that he’s going to be there but wwe disagrees HE'S RETURNING TO UFC!

I wonder if they would push up Cody’s title win over Roman to the Rumble show. Could be the reason he’s likely being traded to Smackdown. Let's say they do this, they should have Rock main event both nights at Mania. Cody wins the title from Roman at The Rumble. Wrestlemania night 1 The Rock beats Roman for a shot at Cody's title. Wrestlemania night 2 Cody beats The Rock.

Respectfully, these two posts are inaccurate and are an example of the correlation vs causation fallacy. Eddie was hugely over, so much so that they were having to backtrack on his heel turn when he died because nobody wanted to boo him Yet he was one of the worst draws ever. The brand split went hard in 2002, which happened at the same time (September 2002) and the deliberate devaluing of house shows (top talent featured on television didn't appear on them, advertising was scaled back, even less reference to the WWE coming to town was included on television). The entire business model switched, so on top of WWE's sinking popularity in general, it's wholly unfair to compare house show "Drawing" to even 2-3 years before. Further, Eddie's time as champion was incredibly short AND, due to departures, injuries and time off, Eddie did not have anything resembling a real dance partner following Wrestlemania 20. When you look at every metric that really mattered to WWE in 2004 during his reign, Eddie was as over as anyone and specifically asked to have the belt taken off of him. So Chris Benoit wasn't Champion for that long post-WM 20. Main reason i heard was the fact that he didn't Drew much at all. So had Rock, Lesnar and others not left after WM 20. Do you think Benoit could have went higher as Champion? It was like the start of lower times! I don't remember the PPV Buyrates from that Period. But it was obvious that much Starpower left the Company. The flaw with this argument is that after Benoit won the title and they had the rematch at Backlash 2004 (a success commercially in terms of live gate and buys, as well as critically), Benoit as champion was deemphasized and was not on top or the focal point of the show. Again, comparing "live draw" metric toward his run as champion would be a fallacy for the aforementioned house show business changing aspect BUT even if we *were* to take that sign as correlation equaling causation, you have Hunter vs Shawn on top as the main storyline through their programming, followed by the Hunter/Eugene storyline. Benoit, even as a double champion, really didn't have any championship storylines. And the one time he did going into Vengeance 2004, he's by far the third wheel - if even that. He was less involved than Miz during the build to Mania 27.

I'm just curious how the business model would look for a three day spread as it's laid out and what the benefit of that would be.
UFC live PPVs do well enough on their own. WWE live PLEs do well enough on their own.
Yes, they have the same parent company and I can see from a business/marketing standpoint the similarities in that infrastructure, BUT as we've seen on multiple occasions in multiple markets small and large both nationally in America and globally, the UFC-WWE fanbase does not have that substantial of a crossover.
And with Wrestlemania being their biggest show of the year, why would you take away a night of another massive gate that's a destination event that you know you're going to sell out, for the sake of sliding in another UFC special event which is going to do the exact same amount whether it's the weekend of a wrestling show or not.
It just doesn't make sense business-wise. I can see them maybe doing it the rest of the year, but doing that for Mania would be an immediate needless loss, especially with cities already vying to host Wrestlemania. The addition of UFC to that weekend isn't an incentive.
I've also really preferred the PLEs being on Saturdays, so going back to Sundays would be against my personal preference.

Now I'm imagining one of those gaudy verbose 2010s Ric Flair official t-shirts with all the diamonds and cartoon fringe but it just says "Okay."

Bill Maher hit on a friend of mine at a CVS when she was a teenager in Los Angeles and he was a grown ass creep.
She told him she was a teenager, so he walked away, grabbed a copy of Teen People off the newsstand, circled the girl's cleavage on the cover and the article title on the cover that said "How to tell if you're wearing the right bra," walked back over to her and handed it to her and then said "how about we discuss this article over dinner?"

Top 10 nailed it to the point where those 10 in any order would have still made sense.

I wish she'd put Taya over on the way out, and I wish at some point AEW would have pulled the trigger on Jade vs Britt as that was the biggest women's division match they could have possibly done but never did.
That said, no ill will towards her and I wish her the best and look forward to seeing whatever she does.

If I can be hyper-HYPER-specific - February 2000 is the absolute low point. There's laughably bad shit after it that's not any more redeemable, and January 2000 has an energy of trying absolutely anything in a panic to right the ship but everyone is overwhelmed.
But February 2000? It's the most frustrating of the year because they have the talent to such a degree that on paper the shows don't look below-average or unwatchable, but the shows themselves are seemingly booked in absolute contempt of the fans to no end.
I'd make an argument for the February 28, 2000 Monday Nitro - the annual "Night of Champions" show - to be the worst single broadcast of WCW television that year. The card isn't bad on paper, far from it, but holy f*** the unbelievably bad finishes and needless lingering in the segments. And the mind-blowing "you can't be serious" finish to the main event.
Looking up the results won't do it justice. It's why I can't take anyone seriously when they claim that anything happening in modern WWE or AEW is "reminiscent of 2000 WCW Nitro" or "As bad/worse than 2000 Nitro." (ok, maybe that Raw after Mania this year comes *closest*, but that show's poorly booked from jumpstreet. This episode takes a promising card and finds every way to ruin it.)
So yeah, if you want a new barometer standard for bad episodic wrestling television - watch the February 28 2000 Nitro. It's a bad time.
Then watch something good and current after like 'Bottoms.'

As confirmed by Something Weird Video's Lisa Petrucci: www.facebook.com/groups/32868747680?multi_permalinks=10159472402607681&hoisted_section_header_type=recently_seen"I'm sad to have to share this news, but legendary New York Sexploitation film producer and distributor, Arthur Morowitz, unexpectedly passed away today. He had just turned 80 years old. Arthur got started in the adult film business with his co-partner Howard Farber, and their company Distribpix would go on to dominate the adult film industry throughout the Sixties and Seventies. Arthur became a major player in the home video market, opening the Video Shack chain in 1979 and later founding the WWF Coliseum Video label. He owned a hell of a lot of real estate too. In later years, Arthur would prove to be a force to be reckoned with in the collectible stamps and world currency business with his Champion Stamp Company. I am grateful to have known him and have wonderful memories of Mike Vraney and I spending time with Arthur at his office (with his enormous and intimidating desk!) and all those fancy expensive dinners in mid-town Manhattan. He was a giant of a man who conquered anything he took on. The words Impressive and incredible hardly begin to describe him. Our thoughts are with my dear friend Steven Morowitz and his family. I'm sure Mike, Dave Friedman and Arthur's beloved wife Harriet are there to welcome him with open arms in the great grindhouse in the sky... RIP"

It's been a weird 18 months. Like, exceptionally weird. The last time things felt as I was accustomed to I think Ezekiel was the #2 babyface on RAW. I first read this and thought Ezekiel Jackson, and then remembered the Zeke-Elias things and then I turned into a pile of salt and drifted upon the breeze.
