Fair enough. I don't think they're like chair shots. Usually the wrestler uses his hand as the cushion so it's not really head to head. Out of curiosity, when did you come to this position? Because I seriously don't rememer anyone bringing it up when DB was using it off the top rope in pretty much every single match. (And while I think it had a lot to do with his neck issues, I'm not aware of it being related to his concussions.) Actually, yeah, once Bryan came back from the neck injury at least I was saying a lot that he should stop with the headbutt. And I never really liked it to begin with. I remember people (myself included IIRC) saying that HE shouldn't do it because of the neck issues. I just don't remember anyone ever saying headbutts should be outright banned, like chair shots to the head. And whether you've expressed that before or not, no big deal. I just don't recall anyone ever saying it.

I don't see the correlation between Vince taking a couple of bumps at 72 years old and Daniel Bryan having brain trauma. What do they have to do with each other? they wont let Daniel Bryan wrestle because they're afraid of him getting a head injury, WWE is also in the midst of a Concussion Lawsuit. And yet the boss of the company will take a stiff headbutt and bust himself open on live TV. Not a good look. So headbutts should be banned? You said yourself you don't think he was supposed to get busted open. You know it's fake, of course. So it's not like they did a spot that's any more likely to create a concussion than tons of others. You don't seriously think they put themselves in legal jeopardy, do you? Like the concussion suit lawyers are going to show this in court and get a directed verdict for the plaintiffs? I know you want DB to wrestle, but him being kept out of the ring was because of what showed up on a medical test, not because other people do headbutt spots. As far as I know, VKM doesn't have a concussion history and has never been medically disqualified from wrestling. They didn't bar DB from wrestling because they don't want him to get a head injury, they did so because he has already had multiple head injuries, he's had seizures and he's admitted that he wasn't truthful about the symptoms he did have ... they don't want him to get ANOTHER head injury on top of the ALREADY SERIOUS head injuries he's already had. Big difference.

I guess this thread beat mine by a hair, fair enough. To quote my thoughts: If I am Daniel Bryan when it comes to how he's unable to wrestle due to fear of head injuries, I am LIVID right now. Im sure Vince getting busted wasn't planned, but of all things? When people are suing you for concussions, when you're literally stopping someone from competing because of fear of Head Trauma. You do THAT on Live Television. Like Jesus Christ WWE has done some stupid things... but that was really bad in my opinion. You could have done so many more things, a headbutt, especially that bad of one, was the wrong one to me... I don't see the correlation between Vince taking a couple of bumps at 72 years old and Daniel Bryan having brain trauma. What do they have to do with each other?

You didn't see that thread a ways back with Braun's dad and sister? Like his dad needs to be employeed just to stand around and look frightening. I saw the sister but not this one of the dad. Actually, that IS the sister.

I feel like this is one of those moments that'll go down as a great Braun moment. I'd also include the time he threw Roman into the turnbuckle and it exploded. That was also a pretty badass visual. And that time he threw an entire ambulance at Roman. Or an office chair. Or something. But it was amazing.

She's also got two Wellness strikes, has been making a complete fool of herself in front of the whole world on social media with her spats with ADR and is coming off neck surgery. Let's not pretend that these things don't have an impact. She's luck to be still drawing a paycheck at all, frankly. But what's that got to do with diversity? While all that might be true, it's a completely different point than you were making in your other post and what the person was saying in the post you responded to. Correct. I was making another point rather than repeating what I said previously, which is why I used the word "also." Sorry if I didn't make that clear. I still maintain that bringing two white girls back to the active roster does not add diversity, regardless of if they dress differently than others and have a "different look." Apart from the Bellas and Usos, every single person on the roster looks different to some degree than others. I was adding that you can't look at Paige in a vacuum and act like none of these other things played a part. It's not some Lord Voldemort thing of which we dare not speak, is it?

Anyone have any idea how many buys ROH has been getting on PPVs?
Must be, at the very least, meeting some minimum or the carriers wouldn't keep running them on their satellites. But I'm curious what the high point (PPV with most buys) might be so far, as well as the average.

New Japan...aren't they currently in agreement with Pro Wrestling NOAH? Isn't that why Eddie "Eddie Edwards" Edwards is their champion right now? Quadruple E!

He's a wife beater and people line up to ... well, I'll leave it at that. "He drinks beer and hates his boss. I drink beer and hate my boss. He beats up his boss; I wish I could beat up my boss. He beat his wife; I wish I could ... wait, I do that too. Hell yeah!!!" Lowest common denomenator. Way to shit all over his fans in the most arrogant and snarky way you can 👏 Perhaps if I actually saw a few SCSA fans actually condemn his actions (regarding domestic violence), I'd view them differently. Heck, Shawn Michaels is pretty universally beloved but you'll see tons of posts praising him that throw in an obligatory "yeah he was a complete dick for quite a long time." Show me a few posts by Austin fans that say "I love his character and his ring work, but, yeah, he's a wife beater and I strongly denounce him for that." Nah, mostly it's "Hell yeah!!"

I'd imagine a TV ad in NYC would cost more than they'd make if they sold out whatever smallish arena, at least to run it enough to make people aware. Does ROH take out big ads when they come to town? Just curious. Other than the ads they run on their programming, I can't recall ever seeing anything in the way of posters or paper ads like WWE does. I go to several WWE shows a year, and the only things like that I've ever seen is on the marquee at the arena. They do run spots on local cable in the middle of Raw and SD in the weeks leading up, at a far greater rate than TNA did, but they're trying to fill a bigger arena than TNA was. To me, that kind of thing is anecdotal. I'm sure WWE talent run into people who don't know they're in town, especially in big cities, all the time. I'd like to see how it compares say when TNA has gone to Atlanta vs. when ROH does. I'm not sure a lot of people in Atlanta knew they were coming, but ROH has always sold out or had a very big crowd because ROH fans in the area keep up and make it a point to know when they're coming ... whereas nobody keeps up with TNA in hopes that they're coming to town soon.

I honestly think ROH has long since passed TNA as the No. 2 promotion: * More contracted wrestlers on roster (as opposed to pay per appearance) * Live shows (which draw more than any TNA live show in memory) * Charges for TV tapings and draws full, hot crowds * More financial backing from Sinclair than TNA gets from Anthem (speculative, but since they are able to compete by offering deals to select talent on a more competitive basis than TNA, have a budget for putting on live shows, etc., it seems like this is the case) * More fans, quite frankly No way to know exactly how many people watch ROH on a weekly basis since it's on SInclair local markets at different times, but surely it's outdrawing TNA for viewership. Or at least competitive. Not to mention just better roster, better booking, better ... everything. Oh, they probably doing all those and more. Only thing I don't know about is TV ratings but since they're in syndication that stuff matters less? Not sure. But THEY probably think they're the number two promotion so that's all that matters to them. Hell, when ROH was in debt and needed a buyer, they were probably in a better position than TNA was. I'm biased, because I'm a proud ROH mark, but I think the evidence points to TNA/GFW/WTF having abdicated its No. 2 position. And I didn't even mention merch. ROH actually has some, including a cut of some Bullet Club stuff.

I guess we're talking different definitions of diversity, but they are literally the two whitest women on the roster. Because diversity isn't only about skin color. Summer Rae may not be super unique, but Paige is certainly still different from everyone else on the roster in both look and personality. She's also got two Wellness strikes, has been making a complete fool of herself in front of the whole world on social media with her spats with ADR and is coming off neck surgery. Let's not pretend that these things don't have an impact. She's luck to be still drawing a paycheck at all, frankly.

I'll throw one thing out there to counter a common perception: TNA has come to the larger town an hour for me twice in the relatively recent past (during Spike days). They did advertise. They had local cable ads during Raw and Impact, they had wrestlers do radio shows that morning, they had Eric Young throw out a first pitch at a minor league baseball game the night before (with a 'TNA will be at the local arena tomorrow night' blurb when they introduced him). That sort of thing. I don't know how much they spent, but I can tell you every wrestling fan that I know was aware of it. One friend went to one of the shows, I didn't go because it just didn't appeal to me and no one else I know went either, but at least the local fan community knew it was happening. I can't tell you if they advertise other shows (I'd assume they did pretty much the same kinda thing) and we can certainly debate on whether they spend enough on advertising, but it's not like they didn't do anything at all and they came and went without wrestling fans knowing about it. The recent Long Island house shows got no ad play at least during Raw... we don't get Pop on Long Island. If I wasn't on this board I wouldn't have any idea that they were in town. I'd imagine a TV ad in NYC would cost more than they'd make if they sold out whatever smallish arena, at least to run it enough to make people aware. Does ROH take out big ads when they come to town? Imagine going from 1.5m viewers to 220,000 in the space of 6 years and STILL being allowed to air. Imagine being the alleged number two promotion and THAT'S your reality. Am I alone in thinking it's piss or get off the pit time with these two? I know Summer was out due to injuries but I can swear I heard she has been cleared already. And while I understand why Paige is being kept off the air, I really can't see a point in keeping her on payroll if she really has a toxic aura going on. RAW's women's division needs more diversity and these two could help with that, but instead WWE seems intent on paying them to do nothing. Either get them back on tv or hand them their walking papers. I guess we're talking different definitions of diversity, but they are literally the two whitest women on the roster.
