Really, Lashley would be massively over here if they went the Goldberg route by having him destroy everyone in his path without actually saying anything.
As soon as he opened his mouth, it was over.

Heyman had the right idea when he first came to ECW on SciFi by just having him wreck people, and do stuff like throwing desks at people. The heel turn he had planned for him after would have really worked imo. I'm not as huge a Heyman fan as some people are, but he knows how to accentuate someone's strengths, and hide their weaknesses. I don't know what they were thinking with that Vince feud. Stuff like that "via satellite" debate they did was painful. Did they really expect him to be able to go back and forth on the mic with Vince without coming out looking like a complete fool?

By spearing Jeff Hardy and feuding over the IC belt. And if they could find a good heel mouthpiece for him it would be a lot better.

Also, he needs a definitive finisher other than Spear one week, then a powerslam. There's 3 people too many in WWE who use the spear as an offensive weapon.
As much as giving him the F5 would turn him even more into Blockly Lashner, I say go for it. Or maybe the Emerald Flowsion.

I honestly don't know. The only thing he's ever done that's really gotten my attention is jumping out of the cage onto Umaga. His mic work is terrible. He really needs a mouth piece.

I could be wrong on that one though. He needs to ditch the running powerslam though, maybe do a press slam like Johnny The Bull instead.

Hype videos, wreck through people for a few months. Is there really more to it? Anyway, I'd also have him incorporate some more technical moves like he did when he worked Finlay. Maybe it's me, but that helped make him different than a random Goldberg rip off.

You know, they are talking about Sunny coming back. I say they let her manage him, and break out the blue Nerf helmet.

Honestly, they can only bring him back doing what he was, because the cat is already out of the bag. Yeah, he's big and looks like a badass, but the second he cut his first promo (Eat those burgers, eat 'em up!) any semblance of "badass" was gone, period. You can't sound like a petulant five year old and be a tough babyface, it just doesn't work that way.
If he comes back, and they want any kind of hope, have him go the Mike Tyson heel route. I'm talking full-blown, over the top near psycho, rambling about murdering his opponents' children and eating them, and maybe have him get a tattoo on his face or something.

Have him beat up Hornswoggle for instant heel heat. Then just generally interfere in matches he has nothing to do with leave em laying. And of course keep him mute.

He needs to ditch the running powerslam though, maybe do a press slam like Johnny The Bull instead. I'd have him keep the spear, and seriously, the Jackhammer for a finisher. Statute of limitations has expired on that, it's long enough since G'Berg was a US wrestling regular that this could be used again for a bigtime guy.

Hype videos, with a heel cutting promos on his return, setting up the first match. That or surprise return in the Rumble.
Lashley can work as a face. He just needs to keep getting given stunts that make him stand out, that make people think he is just damn cool. The jump through the cage was great, so any spots that show a ridiculous amount of strength or agility would easily get over. Build him as the ultimate legitimate athlete, the guy that has got absolutely everything.
I'm not so keen on the idea of giving him a heel mouthpiece and having him suddenly be silent. That's just a generic cop out as far as I'm concerned. As Matt Hardy has proved, you don't need to be an over the top, over charismatic larger than life guy on the mic to be involved in interesting angles and actually hold your own in promos. All you need is an interesting angle that the fans can get behind. Matt Hardy represents the blue collar, high work ethic large proportion of the audience while MVP represents the arrogant, annoying idiot that thinks he is too good for everyone, and fans can get behind that. They seem like natural rivals because of their character traits, and it works.
A natural rival for Lashley would be someone who is perhaps jealous of Lashley's skill, strength, agility etc and hates the fact that Lashley is looked upon as a total package where as he isn't. The heel can play up the jealously, while face Lashley could play up all the good points of a top athlete. Act charitable, always help out the little guy, always offer advice, etc. All basic face values, yet if played up in a feud against a natural rival it can make for an interesting programme.
Lashley doesn't need a heel turn yet, he needs to be over enough as a face before turning, getting some real momentum in order to risk undoing the good work they have already done. He is over, but not as much as he could be right now.

Lashley was bad in ECW and the fans hated on him for it. So why make him champion on the brand wasn't over. ECW wasn't that great with him as champion because hell most of his title defences wasn't even against an ECW talent. It was Umaga on Raw or Mister Kennedy from Smackdown or Randy Orton. RVD I think was the only guy from ECW that got a title shot.
Yes it would help ECW to have another star outside of CM Punk vs a bunch of mid carders. I can only enjoy so many matches against Morrison. The other cotender sucks outside who looks to be soon Shelton. Does ECW need another star ? Yes but I don't think Lashley fits that bill for ECW. Maybe have Lashley go to Raw or Smackdown and they send another star who fits in better to them.

OK, I've got it. Have him wrestle in a giant penguin suit like the giant penguin in Billy Madison. Like on Raw one week they would have a typical Carlito vs Duggan match or something, and the man in the penguin suit would run out and lay out both men. And afterwards, he would simply do the penguin dance and then run off. JR and King would act surprised, like this was not supposed to happen. Like JR would say "Folks, that man in the penguin suit was not a part of the show! We don't even know who it is!"
Then the following week, the man in the penguin suit will come out and will start doing a rap to keep kids off of drugs or something. Later on maybe 8 months down the road, the announcers can just casually reveal its identity. "Oh by the way folks, you know the rapping penguin? That's Bobby Lashley. Anyway, stay tuned because after this commercial, Randy Orton will be here to talk about weatherproofing your house!"
