There must have been some good/entertaining angles Russo concocted. Let's keep this a Russo positive thread, 'kay?
I'll get us off to a start:
I liked that he had Vincent/ Virgil/ Mike Jones announce that his new name was "Shane" (as in McMahon).
I'm not sure if this was a Russo idea or not, but I also enjoyed Sid Viscious as "The Millenium Man", trying to break Goldberg's Streak before the year 2000.

~~"The Dog" Yeah Yeah. People didn't like it. However, Al Green, perinial jobber, got himself a gimmick and worked it as hard as possible. I actually enjoyed it.
I'm still saddened by the way they got rid of The Dog. Brian Knobbs lets him out on the highway and just drives away. So sad...

The timing was sure intresting It did have a hand in it indeed. It's a shame that was what it took for WCW to push a very worthy guy. I bet that if the Main event scene in '99 included Booker, Raven, and Benoit as well as a couple of guys that were in the ME it might have made a real difference since it might have prevented some of the viewer losses that they suffered. |

I'm not a big fan of Russo's writing at times, but I knew that and WCW was already bad when Russo went in there, but it just seemed to get worse,IMO. |

I'll agree with that, but he gets wayyyy too much hate here. Russo by himself is horrible, in my opinion, but he does have good ideas and loves to push new talent. How many other bookers can you say will do that?
I'll go on record as saying that Dusty Rhodes and Bill Watts have done worse for wrestling than Russo has.

Not only did it get worse, it got worse REALLY quickly. By the time he had been there a month, the product was painfully hard to sit though |

Ive said it before: Russo was awesome at booking the midcard in the WWF, partly because he had a filter (Vince) When he had to book on his own, his weaknesses were glaring |

But I really thought Russo came up with the Finger Poke Of Doom. Who did? was it Kevin Nash? Guess it was Nash/Hogan, but it was a bad idea, especially in front of about 30,000 people in the Georgia Dome, and they were advertising a Starrcade 98 rematch with Nash/Goldberg and didn't deliver. |
