Well, I wish all the best to Joe, and hope he knows what he's doing. But considering how Punk has been treated up north, and that Joe has friends in high places in the 'E, I think he'll do just fine. He won't be able to go immedietly to The 'E though, I don't think. He signed to do a tour of Japan, and I don't know its how easy to break of Japan tours. But WWE is usually pretty good about letting guys do their already booked dates. Yeah, usually guys signing WWE contracts are allowed to finish up any dates they already agreed to do. I remember Claudio got signed in September or so, but didn't actually "finish up" on the indy scene until November. Yep. And London got to do his title match against Joe in ROH back at DBD 1. And Punk and Gibson both got to finish up their title reigns, despite already being under contract. Also, Spanky got to finish up his remaining dates. Also, Matt Hardy signed his WWE contract in the midst of his ROH run. Hell, he even appeared on WWE RAW, then appeared later that week in ROH. WWE is really great about new talent relations.

Yeah, I will say that for WWE. A lot of things, they're hit and miss on, but when it comes to treating newly signed talent well, they're generally pretty great.

Yeah, and I bet anything that they regret all the petty bashing they did Yeah, especially when it came out that HHH was pushing for them to return until he heard what they said. I never got that. HHH was a huge reason either of them were as over as they were.

They got their biggest push, and arguably the most fans in DX. And knowing Trips, it was probably cause he wanted DX to grow some more and take over more TV time.

I just realized, this says he doesn't want to resign when his contract expires but, doesn't say when it does. I heard Sept. at one time and then I heard that TNA had a contract option they used. So does any know anything about when he goes free?

If this is true, then I'm just going to start waiting for an awesome ECW main event feud. You know what I'm thinking. That's right. Miz/Joe. Let the epics begin. Miz/Joe would be an entertaining squash. I'd pay to see that. ;D TNA has really missed the boat on Joe and I wouldn't blame him for leaving... ...as long as he sticks around for the upcoming TNA house show I have tickets for.

WWE wouldn't do Right Thing #1 if Joe came in. Sure, he'd be paid by the barrelful, but Punk/Joe is a money match--smarks coming back and paying their hard-earned money to watch it would be virtually guaranteed.
Until Joe's no-compete clause disappears (if, in fact, TNA has no-compete clauses), just have Joe show up unexpectedly during CM Punk matches. He doesn't talk, he doesn't attack...he just stands at the foot of the aisle and watches.
If/When the clause goes away, after Punk's match, Joe grabs a mike and congratulates Punk on all his success. He introduces himself: "I am Samoa Joe, and I am this man's worst nightmare." Before Punk came to WWE, Joe explains, Joe and Punk had memorable matches all around the world--Japan, Germany, America. And never one time--despite all the five-star matches, despite any titles on the line--Punk never once legitimately defeated Joe.
And what will WWE do? Joe-maga.

He wouldn't be under a no-compete if his contract ran out and I remember everyone saying how they would saddle Punk, London, Kendrick and others with bad gimmicks and they are doing quite well for themselves so far.

I don't believe they would screw up Joe. They left CM Punk in tact, and look how over he is with WWE fans. I think in Joe's case they may actually be smart and leave him as-is.

Ugh, Joe in WWE = my nightmare come true. My favorite wrestler in a promotion I can't bear to watch. There's a good chance it'd end up better for him, and I'd be glad for that, but I at least feel with TNA that I'll at least watch sometimes, whereas I next to never turn on a WWE show. I miss Punk, Cabana, Gibson, Spanky, and London enough as it is.

What about Joe's wrestling style? I really don't see it changing much from what we see/saw in TNA.

Man's gotta make money somehow. And let's face it, it's cool to think about the fact that millions of people are watching you live on television, and cheering/booing you with all their might.
Can't pretend you hate the popularity.

Yeah, Punk's the one guy I try to keep tabs of in WWE, and his run hasn't really been inspiring.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see he's doing well for himself, and I know he hasn't been around THAT long, but the guy's capable of so, so much more, and, come on; WWE's given guys super-mega-pushes in FAR less time before. I mean, Cena's first feud at ALL was with then-champion Lesnar, for cryin' out loud.

I understand that nobody should really take WWE seriously in almost any aspect.

Well, Cena had been on TV for 10 or 11 months when his feud with Lesnar began (and had a mini feud with Eddy) and Punk has been on ECW for about the same amount of time and is now feuding with the champ there (and had two mini feuds along the way). They appear to be on the same WWE career path at the moment.
