Former X-Division champion Samoa Joe has been telling people that he would rather accept an entry level WWE contract (believed to be $50,000 per year), rather than resigning with TNA. Joe is not happy in TNA, and doesn’t want to stay with the company when his current contract expires.

And given that he's in the main event program, that's a very telling statement. When even the main eventers don't really wanna be involved in the company, something's wrong.

Should this be true, the exodus begins. Yeah, honestly, if they lose Joe, that's it for TNA, they'll be on borrowed time. Angle's great, but they've turned him from "THE best signing in TNA history" to just another dude on the roster. Christian can't carry a company by his lonesome, nor can Abyss, and Sting won't be around for too much longer, I'd wager, and they're apparently reluctant to let anyone else around the main event scene in a singles capacity.

I don't think it'll be the end of TNA it'll just be the end of the smark's envisioning of TNA. I'm sure they'll get plenty of WWE cast-offs along the way.

If Joe leaves, history really will start repeating itself.

Joe's never been taken seriously as a main eventer. Seems like there's two main event groups: The imports (Sting, Angle, Christian, etc.) and the "homegrowns" (Abyss, Joe, AJ, etc.) Frankly, TNA's inability to put the homegrowns over the imports, and the inability to make more than one import a face at a time has really hurt them, and actually made them look weaker to their fanbase, as if they couldn't survive without the castoffs from WWE.

Smark bait.
Now that that is out the way, I am not surprised.

Here's the thing, what has TNA done to keep anyone? None of the guys in the X-division (the supposed backbone of the company) get squat for airtime, "Mr TNA" AJ has gone from stealing shows to a lackey/job boy for Christan and Tomko. They already lost Aries, Ki has voiced displeasure, Konnan has said how bad it is. Give it time, and I have this feeling we'll see TNA running with a roster of Jarrett, Sting, Angle, Christian, Rhino, Tomko, Test, NAO, and the Steiners.

If this is true, then I'm just going to start waiting for an awesome ECW main event feud.
You know what I'm thinking.
That's right.
Miz/Joe. Let the epics begin.

This is going the way of WCW even faster than I thought, just with different faces.

Well, I wish all the best to Joe, and hope he knows what he's doing. But considering how Punk has been treated up north, and that Joe has friends in high places in the 'E, I think he'll do just fine.
He won't be able to go immedietly to The 'E though, I don't think. He signed to do a tour of Japan, and I don't know its how easy to break of Japan tours. But WWE is usually pretty good about letting guys do their already booked dates.

Yeah, usually guys signing WWE contracts are allowed to finish up any dates they already agreed to do. I remember Claudio got signed in September or so, but didn't actually "finish up" on the indy scene until November.
