I hate him for being such a ridiculously huge dweeb (I honestly think that word best describes him). More so than Joey Styles. And Tenay has, by far, the worst 'angry' and 'thoughtful' faces I've ever seen. He looks like he just stubbed his toe and swallowed a handful of sour-warheads at the same time.
But as embarrassing as those 2 are, I'd gladly take him over Don West.

I really cant imagine a worse announce team for a promotion trying to become a major player.
Those facial expressions make me laugh though.
Tenay is ridiculous and his tuxedo is offensive.

I like Tenay. I guess the quality of Tenay's performance in the booth depends on who is commentating with him. Remember when Cornette was on commentary with Tenay? That was awesome.
Also, I think Don West is the lead commentator. At least it seems so, he talks so much more than Tenay.

His serious/thoughtful face cracks me up. But I don't mind them much actually. West, as much as some people hate him, is actually trying. And Tenay isn't all that bad anyway, to me.

Yeah, I really dislike his commentary and it makes the show unwatchable for me most of the time. I also hear he has more to do with the booking and storylines than Russo does, so that's something else to frown upon.

I hate Tenay and love West. Why? I don't know. He's just lovable. This is EXACTLY how I feel. Don West reminds me of Uncle Ted from Bobby's World. Just a goofy bastard that tries. |

Why have Tenay go into that thing where he needs to get to the bottom of things?
They said Cornette would make a decision so why not just have Tenay sit there and wait for the decision like everyone else?
No instead we get "Im gonna get to the bottom of this!" huff puff junk.
They could have been without another really stupid TNA moment but instead they chose to run with it.

After having heard WSX and WWE announcers a few times, I'm forced to conclude that Tenay and West are currently the best announcers in the wrestling business.
It's been years since I heard commentating on the level of Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan, the best ever.
Even Jesse Ventura, who I considered very overrated was better than most of the guys doing it today.

Oh man, I was JUST about to make a thread about how much Mike Tenay pissed me off tonight. "He was thinking about making a thread Don!" All that grandstanding and soapbox oration about Sting like this kind of schmozz finish hasn't happened in wrestling since the dawn of time! "He's right Don, things like that HAVE happened before!" And it wasn't even anything to get riled up about anyway! Angle knocked Sting into Nash and gave him an Angle slam! Exactly how did he cheat? "Sting knocked into Nash, who had no business on the ring apron, setting Sting up for a match-ending Angle slam!" Oh, and while you're at it Tenay, keep repeating everything someone just said in a promo while they're still giving the promo. That won't piss anyone off. Not at all. "I'm pissing him off by interrupting promos Don! He doesn't like the repetition!" |
