Could you imagine if he killed someone. I know a kid who drove recklessly and injured himself and 2 boys and killed 3 girls. After he got out of the hospital, he was in alot of shit. Before he received his sentence for reckless driving, he was pulled over twice for driving faster than that speed in which he had that accident and he was put in jail for driving without a license.
I don't know about down there in America but in Canada, the kid was just a teen so they didn't publish his name on the newspaper.

I still don't expect him to spend more than a month in jail.
Pardon my cynicism.

Yeah, I know the guy is still technically alive, but he's lost his life. He'll be braindead/comatose for the rest of his life with no chance of recovery. Heck, I think that's worse than being dead.

There was a guy from my hometown who killed his best friend driving over 100 mph, and he just got probation, a suspended license, and had to attend some classes and speak at high schools. Maybe Nick could get something like that. In cases like this, having to live with knowing what you've done is punishment enough.

Nick isn't exactly filled with remorse. He was even bragging about his racing skills.

Nick has that "duh" look in his eyes that only really stupid people have, judging from the picture. I don't think he's exactly Stephen Hawking, if you catch my drift...

According to the police release today, Nick was drinking. (His blood alcohol level was above .02, and he's under 21.)
Jail time actually is kind of likely if that's true.

I know Hogan Knows Best is likely scripted from top to bottom, but Nick always comes off as an arrogant prick to me (Batista-esque). It's hard to say whether he'll serve jail time. I guess it will depend on Hulk's name value (and money) at this point. That's the way America works, right? Rich celebs (or kids of celebs in this case) can shoot, kill, or paralyze you and get away with it with only a slap on the wrist. It's all too common.
The parents should get some blame, but Brooke turned out all right (as far as I can tell), so maybe Nick just believes his own hype due to his father's fame. There are a lot of pricks in his world, and Nick is just one of them. Hopefully he learned his lesson after this, but it's too late for the guy he permanently injured.

I don't know the Hogan family personally, but I have to admit that based on what I've heard Hogan say in the past, and based on what I've seen on his reality show, Hogan seems to do everything he can to warn Nick about his behavior. Hogan has even gone to the extreme on this. Unfortunetely, no matter how much some parents try to let you know that you have life easy and you should always watch what you're doing in real life situations, some kids just don't listen.
I know on one episode, Hogan took Nick to see a video of actual bloody dead people, along with an auto expert, with dead bodies that were named "Nick", that died because of their bad driving habbits.
I guess Nick hadn't learned his lesson yet.

I don't see how this relates to wrestling.
Nick Hogan should get punished for his dad being a backstage politician and holding down talent?
Most people who commit the same crime, don't get jail time.
It's the same with Paris Hilton driving without a license. No one goes to jail for that.
You can't enforce laws based on whether someones a douche or not. Otherwise 90% of the population would be in jail.

I loathe Paris Hilton more than Nick whatshisname, but the things aren't even remotely comparable.

I don't see how this relates to wrestling. Nick Hogan should get punished for his dad being a backstage politician and holding down talent? Uh, no. He should be punished for illegal street racing, endangering the lives of pedestrians and other drivers in the sake of his own fun, and landing his passenger in a coma (whose well-being, by law, became Nick's responsibility the second he started the vehicle). Then that's a problem with our system.

Again...he had alcohol in his system, which is a no-no for a 17 year old. If he doesn't go to jail for at least a few months, the system is broken.
