TNA needs to build organically over time. Don't think about the ratings from month to month, don't look to challenge WWE now, in fact don't try to challenge them at all. The company needs to develop slowly over time, getting their guys over, making their product a true alternative to WWE, with a completely different look and feel.
They should be the Snapple of wrestling; they should say, "Hey, we aren't number one but we are certainly number two and you might just like us better." They shouldn't try to become bigger than WWE but strive to create a better product. First put out a product that will garner you more than a 1.0 share and then try to bump your ratings up to that level.

correct me if i am wrong but didn't the wwe bringing back jericho and having flair return in north carolina only raise ratings by .1? The Flair point is kind of funny... why should I care if Flair's returning to WWE in North Carolina... I live in California. i was just commenting on how even the mighty wwe hyping the return of jericho for a bit only got a .1 increase even when coupling it with the return of a legend like flair.

maybe TNA just needs to exist for a few more years before it really takes off. in its current form, how long has it been around? seriously, give it 5, even 10 more years before its truly judged.
for a relatively young fed, i think its doing pretty well.

Nobody... Work with what youve got. TNA has got a really really really talented roster and needs to work on putting compelling stories together with them.

They don't need any new people just better storylines. People don't watch just because certain wrestlers are on, they watch because of what those wrestlers are doing.

the answer is no one. if the past year has taught us anything it is that WWE fans won't watch TNA just to see ex-WWE guys... sting Point of order... Sting is one of the few long-term workers that has never worked in WWE/WWF.

Scott Hall IF he becomes a teetotaler and quits no-showing. If you ran a wrestling company would you give him another chance? There is only one man who can save the day now....Teddy hart FTW.

Nothing short of Steve Austin or The Rock would get a ratings bump. Kurt Angle, Sting, Booker T and Christian Cage have proved that.
But that doesn't matter, because the fact is they don't need anybody else!!! No more new hires!!!
Jed Shaffer ~Or wasn't this the whole point of Joe's promo on Sunday?

While I think that bringing in an established name (RVD, Goldberg, etc.) is a good idea and can help a little bit, TNA really needs to establish its own performers as major stars in the sport and that takes time. I do agree that they need better advertising to get the word out about their product. They did that for a bit last year and they should get back to doing that. Consistant booking that makes sense and gets performers over would help in the long term as well. I also think that a TNA magazine would be a great idea because it would get them some positive attention and readers at newsstands or bookstores who come across the magazine may read it and think to themselves "I should check out TNA. I haven't seen someone like Samoa Joe before and those X division guys seem to be cool." That is how you get new fans to the company. I also think that having much more wrestling and using less humorous angles will help. Let performers who are good at comedy (Angle to a degree, Christian, AJ, Eric Young) do that as part of their personas if it makes sense for them to do it but otherwise allow more performers to be serious like Samoa Joe. And if the TNA video game is a good game that gets good reviews and does well, that will bring attention to the in-ring product on TV. TNA has great talent and they should let them wrestle. They need more matches like the Turkey Bowl main event from 2 weeks ago. That match had three performers who were homegrown and are very tallented (Sabin, AJ, and Joe) and they were allowed to have a strong match that had the time to develop and tell a story. Letting performers be themselves and work hard in the ring will bring new fans to TNA in time and they will become a true alternative to the WWE style and there are fans who are tired of the WWE formula and want something truly different.
