I've seen the current ROH Champion's finisher: the Rebound Lariat... And every time I see it, I'm underwhelmed. It looks so damn goofy and unbelievable that I have a hard time taking Nigel seriously.
Am I the only one?

Not much of a fan of it either. Sometimes it comes off nicely: but it's a really hit or miss thing. I love his new arm submission in comparison though.

God forbid he ever slip and fall trying that move.
It's just so stupid that I can't suspend disbelief for it.

The setup looks silly. the lariat itself is good, but the 'rebound' part is kinda lame IMO.

Oh, this is the new arm submission finisher I'm referencing btw. I really like it. Finally all that arm work he does has meaning again. Much more believable too.

Yeah, it looks pretty the first few times, then you realize that it's just one of his many ways of saying "Yeah, you just smacked the f*** out of me, but I'm going to be no-selling it now. Does that work for you? No? Well, tough titties."

I've longed despised the rebound lariat. You should be able to see it coming a mile a way when the guy does a f***ing 360 before he clotheslines you.

I've longed despised the rebound lariat. You should be able to see it coming a mile a way when the guy does a smurfing 360 before he clotheslines you. Plus, just shove him as he's bending backwards, he's goin outta the ring. The arm submission looks cool though.

I don't midn the lariat, it's a simple move, sure, but near as I can tell it's an homage to the guy that trained him, which is kinda cool.

But that's not saying much, considering the stupidity that is his Rebound Lariat. Why people don't move or push his legs out of the ring while he's taking forever to do that flip... Ugh, I don't know.

Trying to figure out how the rope-flip part adds to the force of the move is beyond my ability to suspend disbelief. Apparently he decided he needed to do something to make it more than just a plain old lariat, and I can understand it, but something was not this.

I believe changing it to a pelvic thrust would cement his status as a true World Heavyweight Champion.

Hell Irish whip the guy first, then do it. The Lariat itself doesn't really need much garnish.

Sometimes it looks like he's going in slow motion.

It's the ROH equivalent to the People's Elbow. Whenever I think of it like that, it seems a touch more sensible.
