Who did you think would never win a major belt in the wwe when you first saw them. I never thought that Eddie Guerrero, or JBL would win the world title

Eddie. I didn't even believe he'd win it while i was watching the match against Brock Lesnar.
And David Arquette. But i sometimes wish i never saw that.

I would never have predicted that Bradshaw would go from being a member of a tag team that had already achieved most of its success a couple of years earlier/midcard singles wrestler to become the WWE Champion. I mean it's like he was switched from low midcard to WWE Champion in no time at all.

Batista never striked me as world title guy, and I honestly thought RVD would be snubbed as the guy that never got to win the big one

The one that popped in my mind was JBL. The transformation from APA to JBL might have been sudden and swift, but in turn has created one of the greatest heels this generation.

I didn't believe Eddie or JBL (for JBL I didn't believe it until around the time he lost it). Also, 3 years ago I wouldn't have guessed Rey would have won the big one.
I also thought Chris Jericho wouldn't have gotten it. When he won the Undisputed Title, I couldn't believe it.

I'll also say Bradshaw, i stopped watching wrestling before the Invasion occured and remember the brilliance that was the APA, and then one day i just turned the channel to see wrestling for nostalgia sake and what do you know, here comes JBL with a world title....the only think i could think of was, wow, what a jump
just for reference i returned to watching full time January 07

I never thought Bret Hart would win the WWF Title. Even though he had been IC champ, he was still a tag team guy. It was already a big deal that he had made it out of that and been IC champ. Then I turn on WWF Superstars one day, and there he is with WWF title belt. It was pretty f***ing awesome.

It sounds weird to say now, but having grown up with him just being a tag team specialist for so many years, Bret Hart getting the belt surprised the heck outta me at the time.

Much as I hate to say it... Mick Foley. Never thought Cactus Jack/Mankind could be a champion.
Mind Games with Shawn Michaels convinced me otherwise. Just sorry it took so long for Mick to finally get it.

Ok. Watching WCW back then I thought it was TOTALLY impossible that Eddie Guerrero or Rey Misterio would ever be World Champions. Benoit on the other hand was like Owen someone I could see at the very top given the right circumstances.
But back to Eddie and Rey. They would have never been champs in WCW thanks to guys like Russo, who did not see "Mexicans" as a big draw. In McMahonland they saw their potential. They seized their opportunities. Unfortunately to get to Destination WWE World Title you have to take a ride on the Roid Train.
Note: this is no "McMahon is evil"-post, since Eddie, Benoit and Misterio (probably) all decided by themselves to "get big fast", but it STILL has something to do with unwritten rules in a screwed up WWF/E.

I was at either the first or second appearance of Edge. I never would've guessed he'd go from injuring a Boricua to being a mutli-time World Champ.

Oh and others (some non-WWE) -Abyss in TNA (and he should not have been, probably contract-related crap, useless run, crap angle...) -Goldberg in WWE (didn't watch WWE then, but it's said to be crappy) -Ron Killings in TNA (I learned that he was a 2-time champ when I started watching TNA. Always was a midcarder to me) -Candice Michelle (Ok, WWE Women's Title, LOL! You might as well do a porn flick and buy a kid's spinner belt, same reputation) -Booker T in WWE (and THAT was one DAMN fine decision to put the strap on him!)

Eddie I didn't believe it until I saw it. JBL I didn't believe it until I saw it, the transformation happened overnight. Rey I didn't believe it until he won the royal rumble.
Booker, too.

I was at either the first or second appearance of Edge. I never would've guessed he'd go from injuring a Boricua to being a mutli-time World Champ. Well, Christian seemed even less capable of ever being a champ back then. Times change. Ok, he never was WWE Champ, but you can't deny that he proved himself to be a worthy champ and main event material in TNA.

Rey Mysterio was one that I never in million years thought would make it to World Heavyweight Champion.
If were talking outside of WWE, then i'm throwing Scott Steiner, Booker T and DDP in there.
And just give my two cents, none of the above should ever have been World Champs.
