I've always had a problem deciding what my favorite movie was..for the longest time..I've had two or three that I consider my favorite over all the movies that I like..or own..or whatever.
I think that after seeing this movie, Dark Knight has clearly pulled itself in front.
I'm seeing it again next week in IMAX..so I'm excited.

Alright, we just got done with the movie, and I want to throw this discussion question out there:
Is Harvey dead or alive? It sure looks like he died at the end of the movie, but...we know how these movies tend to work themselves out. With the death of Heath, I feel like Nolan might have to bring back Two-Face, even though the film did a lot to portray the nature of Two-Face excellently. I was thinking after the movie that while Batman does have a great Rogue's Gallery, they may be coming short of credible villians (Really, who's left: Penguin? Riddler? Mr. Freeze? Poison Ivy?)
And also, should they bring Two-Face back?

from what I have read the plan always was to bring two face back for the third. Nolan also said he would be interested in bringing in Robin so...
Personally I want two face to come back but I REALLY want Clayface and or Killer Croc...

Personally I want two face to come back but I REALLY want Clayface and or Killer Croc... Man, I knew I forgot someone, and that's Clayface (Croc was technically introduced in Gotham Knights.) It could be interesting if they used the same kind of origin for Clayface that they used in TAS. I think if they introduce the Penguin as a crime boss, like he's become known as in the current continuity of Batman, that that could work too. Either way, I am intrigued to see what they come up with for 3 (and if they replace Ledger with someone else as Joker.)

Well this is what I want to happen...
Jason Todd is intorduced, Killer Croc kills his parents. Todd becomes Robin...Batman defeats Croc but the Joker has returned and The Joker kills Todd...

Awesooooooooome. Amazing movie. Loved it. Wanna see it again. Heath Ledger destroys Jack Nicholson. He just totally immersed himself in the role. My only iddy biddy complaint is that there was no Harley Quinn cameo. Just..a liiiittle cameo would have sufficed. A passing mention. Anything. THROW ME A FRICKIN BONE HERE. But yes. Loved. No idea what villain they would use next. I do agree though I loved a line with Gordons wife...in the movie she is "Barbara Gordon" and she tells her son...Get inside with your sister...his sister? I guarantee is named Barbara as well? A node to Batgirl

I think the problem with Croc and Clayface is that Nolan's whole philosophy is to make sure everything is as realistic as possible. I'm not sure if he would want to have villains that aren't "human". He might, but I don't quite see it.
I think that they'll take the ambiguity of Two-Faces death and bring him back. I'm sure the plan was for Joker to come back, but they can't bring in anyone to play him that would even match Ledger's performance.

Dude Joshua Hartnett and Giovoni Ribisi would make EXCELLENT jokers. Heath Ledger wasn't the first nor will he be the last to play the Joker. I say why wait until Nolan leaves to bring Joker back?

I should have made it clearer. I meant for a third Nolan/Bale Batman they can't have another Joker. But if someone else takes over, they can do whatever they want.

While being slightly fantastical, he's more realistic then Croc and Clayface. Hell, let's have a Knightfall movie! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) That said, I personally wouldn't be against Nolan starting to add in more fantastical elements slowly but surely. Not saying to make it way over the top, but just like maybe Croc the way he was portrayed on TAS and such.

So, I just saw the movie today. Just got back a few minutes ago, actually. I can't be bothered to skim through 28 pages to see if this has been an issue anywhere else, but.... did anyone else's theater run into problems with the reel towards the end? We had about a half an hour delay while they fixed it (roughly 2 hours into the movie), and I heard of the same thing happening in another town not far from me. Just wondering if this was a widespread deal, or just coincidence that it happened twice so close to each other?
Thanks to the delay, I got completely lost after Joker blew up the hospital. When it came back, two-face was in a car and I have no idea how he got out of the hospital. Not looking for answers, I'll probably just go see it again next weekend. Just frustrated.
And while I agree that Ledger's portrayal of Joker was immensely good, I don't think that should stop them from re-casting someone else in the role for the next installment (which they HAVE to do). The character shouldn't be handcuffed because of what happened with the actor. They'd have some big shoes to fill, but someone else could step in there and do it.

Had no problem, but our reel did mess up during the previews. So it didn't interupt the movie at all. Theater still gave everyone free tickets though. That was at the Thursday Mightnight showings. I completely agree. Everyone was saying the same thing about Jack when Heath was cast.

Well this is what I want to happen... Jason Todd is intorduced, Killer Croc kills his parents. Todd becomes Robin...Batman defeats Croc but the Joker has returned and The Joker kills Todd... It's too early for Robin to appear. Batman has only been in existence in Nolan's world for about a year or two, Robin is still a kid, or at least a preteen at this point. And Killer Croc is too unrealistic of a villain, or it'd be really hard and complex to make him real.

no problems at all, I was at IMAX so if that happened there would have been a riot.

I don't see Killer Croc being to much of a problem even in the "realistic" world of Nolen, real people have that weird skin problem, just ramp it up a bit give him some false filled teeth and put it all on a a huge guy and there ya go.

I'm pretty sure Nolan has said that as long as he's directing, there will be no Robin because the films centers around a young Batman.

*SPOILERS*
I also wanted to comment on what I thought of Two-Face "dying". I got to say, I don't think he's dead. The whole time Gordon and Batman were making the plan afterwords they never one mentioned him being dead. When they showed Gordon making a speech and had the big photo of Harvey, we never saw a casket or a body. Also, earlier in the movie there was a whole scene dedicated to "A fall from this distance won't kill me" with Maroni. To me this was not only a set up plot wise (Batman's rule) but also a set up to the Two-Face scene where Harvey fell from about the same distance.
