I don't want to see Welling and Rosenbaum actually be Superman and Lex at all. That show is fine for what it is I suppose, but to me it exists in its own weird lil corner of Superman mythos, not having much to do with anything.

Neither actor has expressed any interest in playing the characters outside the series. And the studios haven't expressed any interest in casting them outside the series. It's not going to happen.

As for the 2 new DC character movies, will it finally be time for the Green Lantern movie?

I liked Superman Returns but it did feel very meticulous. I hope the reboot isn't too dark and has a Bizzaro appearance.

Can I just say that I really like the airplane scene in Superman Returns? I like the way they took physics into account and all. Just because Superman is strong enough to grab the plane by the wing, doesn't mean the plane is strong enough to take it.
I just liked that whole scene. It was awesome because it was him doing Superman-y stuff.

I'm for this. I doubt they really mean it'll be "darker" I think it's just gonna be more serious. I hope this movie is more than just Superman sulking and lifting shit.

I think the Luthor/Metallo story worked well.

They can do whatever they want, as long as they don't add a giant spider to the franchise.(I wonder how many people will actually get that) Lulz On a side note f*** Kevin Smith

I just hope they don't recast. I hate when it's obvious Hollywood doesn't care about continuity.

The other one that I liked was near the end where he used each of his powers to save people. (I barely remember the movie, so sorry for not being specific.)

Flying through fire, putting it out with his breathe, melting the glass with his heat vision before it fell on people, saving the people from the falling globe (and having the weight of the world on his shoulders ;D), etc.

By the way, is it too cheesy of me to want a GL movie to open in January, so they can use the tagline "Ringing In The New Year, 2010?"
;D

It's funny how general concensous can change how people think of something though.
Batman Begins and Superman Returns both made about the same amount of money (infact world wide Superman made $20m more). Batman Begins is thought of as a success and WB was quick to green light The Dark Knight. Superman Returns is thought of as a disapointment and WB is hesitant on it. Superman did have a bigger budget, BUT a lot of it's budget was from the previous start and stops of making Superman movies (like Burton's, McG's, etc).
This is just a comment on how perception can change things.

Im sick of lex, make the main villain darkseid like on the 90s cartoon, or at least brainiac.

But many people hated what WB gave us the sulky emo Superman that did barely anything was not what most people wanted. I honestly thought it was at best it was really adequate up to the part with Lex creating a new continent threatening to destroy much of North America, Superbaby, and Superman lifting a continent made out of Kryptonite and throwing it into space. I mean come on that's ridiculous.

I was satisfied with Superman Returns. Didn't love it like the new Batman movies, but I can't say I hated it.
It was left so open ended though, I really would like to see some closure to these characters prior to any kind of reboot on the franchise.

Superman returns was fine, but I am sick and tired of people making flicks and having to please a bunch of f***ing investors and suits(and the entire general public for that matter)
noone's ever satisfied-you can make a trillion dollars and someone will want a trillion and a half

I would be quite happy without Lex in any shape at all. We have seen him before in all the Superman films (Even the one where Zod was the villain!) and tv shows. Enough is enough, move on ... I mean c'mon even James Bond moved on from Blofeld and Spectre. I'd like to see the Ultra-Humanite or Doomsday. Humanite... that'll put asses in seats. Doomsday... MEH! MEH I SAY! Now, Titano...
