Was a let down.
Superman Returns. When I saw the mailbox that said Kent and heard his father speak over the Krypton while Superman hovered in front of the sun I thought WB and Singer had it right. But the movie fell way flat.
Any others?

Final Fantasy... both. When will I learn. Odds are I'll get excited for the third one too =/ Even though I haven't played any of the Final Fantasy games since the days of the Genesis, I thought both movies were okay. The first one wasn't that great, but I thought the second was was decent. I would nominate Batman and Robin, but the trailers for that movie should have warned a person that the movie was going to blow.

FFVII Advent Children was a pretty badass flick IMO, if for nothing else the complete buttraping of the laws of physics.
Tough call here, as most things I've seen lived up to the hype. I'll have to think on it for a while.

The American Godzilla film. I've never understood why people don't like this movie. I liked it and still do. I think it might have been ahead of it's time or people are just way too attatched to the cheesy Japanese Godzilla movies.

I'm not saying it's an award winning film or anything but I take it for what it is. I like being entertained and it did that for me.

There was a movie called Red Eye.
The trailer made it seem like it was going to be the next great psychopath movie on a plane.
I walked out of the theater after 40 minutes.
I think I remember it staring the guy that played Scarecrow.
Sorry if I don't remember much, I tried to delete that part of my brain.

Actually I think the main problem today is a lot of movie trailers don't do the movies themselves justice. There's been quite a few good movies I've skipped (usually comedies) because the trailers were just "meh", and I only gave them a chance because of reviews.

I think the trailers were brilliant but they basically showed the best parts of the film. IMO, it turned into Jurassic Park and it just wasn't something I cared for.

It's one of the rare movies that doesn't need eighteen dead bodies to feel like a "suspense" film - the bulk of the movie's suspense is dependent on the two actors, alone on the plane, for the film's entire second act - and it works, because Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams had so much onscreen chemistry.

Spider Man 3. Thread over. I'll second that,Also X3. What was so bad with superman returns? I actually liked it. Even Rottentomatoes gaved it a good rating.

Primevil. I actually had no idea it was about a giant alligator until about twenty minutes or so into the movie.

2005's "Flightplan" starring Jodie Foster. Somehow from the preview I got the notion that maybe they went through a time warp or something (thereby making it a Sci-fi thriller) and that's what caused everyone to think that Foster's character went crazy for thinking her daughter went missing.
Turns out the passengers and crew were morons.

I think I revealed three things that must be part of a Godzilla film and the American version just said screw all three of those things.
