You ask a baseball fan and 7 out of 10 people will tell you AJ Pierzynski of the Chicago White Sox. The man was #1 on a list titled "Baseball Players You'd Most Like To Punch In The Face". AJ suspected his teammates piled on to put him at the top. Then he laughed. He's the prototype of a guy you'd most want as a teammate and least want to face as an opponent. Coming from an Angels fan, this is true. I was at the playoff game that AJ was being AJ at, and he has never been forgiven by Los Angeles.

I love him but George Steinbrenner. Come on who else gets blamed for completely ruining their sport?

Richard Scudamore, the money grabbing twat.
Ashley Cole is close though, nearly crashing his car for the "insult" of a pay rise to just £60,000 a week (I think ?), moaning that Arsenal fans cheered match winning forwards ahead of him, having a hot wife (irrational), cheating on hot wife and throwing up during the process (a bit more rational), he's a real classy guy and a symbol of what's wrong with modern football.
Personally I hate Mourinho the most though, in the heat of the moment I can sort of understand him moaning about Hunt but criticising the ambulance service days later shows he cares about nothing but his own ego.

Among the American people on this forum, its Tom Brady and there isn't a close second.
During the lead-up to the Super Bowl, it was a handful of Patriots fans defending their team against every other fan in the NFL. Following the Super Bowl, people celebrated the Patriots' loss more than they would have celebrated their own team's championship, and they weren't even Giants fans. People weren't rooting for the Giants to win, they were rooting for the Patriots to lose, and I'm sure the fact that the Patriots' team flight even landed in Arizona and didn't blow up mid-flight caused most people on this board to cringe.
And if you needed any more evidence, go back to September on these forums. Never before has a season-ending injury been so celebrated. Again, you would have thought that people had just witnessed their team win a playoff game, but instead they watched a guy tear his ACL and end his season.
I understand why Tom Brady is hated. The guy is a winner and champion, he's a future Hall of Famer, possibly the greatest quarterback of our generation, he plays every game with a sense of arrogance, he dates beautiful women, he's filthy rich and he lives the good life. I get that people hate that. But he's never been arrested, he's never fought fans or teammates, he's never done drugs or used steroids, he's never called out other players or gone behind the backs of teammates, he doesn't play dirty and he seems to enjoy the sport he's playing.

New York - Isiah Thomas...He gets so much heat...honorable mention: Eddie "Cheeseburger" Curry I don't think Scott Layden (the GM before Isiah) gets enough hate. It's not like the Knicks were in fine shape to begin with before Isiah became GM. Among other things, he signed Allan Houston to that ridiculously undeserving contract. And don't get me started on James Dolan. Nepotism can only get you so far. I think he's hated just fine. It's not as though people pine for the days of Layden. He got fire Layden chants that were just as loud as Isiah Thomas. Obvious difference is profile. Layden was a low profile guy and would rarely be seen. He also gets blamed for moves he didn't do like the Frédéric Weis draft pick. Thomas wanted everyone to know he was there and he was going to change things and make himself out to be a savior. He ended up making a worse mess than when he came and it obviously wasn't that bad as Thomas wasn't at all inhibited to making any moves as soon as he got there.

For Non-American fans Ashley Cole possibly? This. Betrayer of both the club who raised him and of his wife.

Carlos Boozer needs mentioning for three reasons: 1) Stabbed a blind man in the back on his way out of Cleveland 2) Comes across as a total wuss that won't play unless he's at 100% 3) Went to Duke I understand why Tom Brady is hated. The guy is a winner and champion, he's a future Hall of Famer, possibly the greatest quarterback of our generation, he plays every game with a sense of arrogance, he dates beautiful women, he's filthy rich and he lives the good life. It's jealousy, plain and simple. I can't think of a legitimate reason to hate the guy, but he receives an amazing amount of venom nonetheless. If anyone on that team should be hated, it's Rodney Harrison.

I also understand why people wouldn't like Tom Brady. And if he wasn't my team's QB I'd dismiss everything he did with "whatever, snorkin' pretty boy" and basic schadenfreude makes someone delight in the misery of someone who not only lives the good life, but is also habitually eliminating your team from the playoffs. But I don't recall him doing anything that could be considered arrogant. I mean sure the way he plays makes it look easy and his "aw shucks" can seem a bit condescending. Well that, and he did ride onto the field on a segue while brandishing a "Everybody Sucks But Me" banner after rushing in for a touchdown. Here's a couple of my hated people in sports: -What's his name from the Chiefs that injured Brady -The Manning Brothers. Peyton because he's Indy's Magic Johnson to New England's Larry Bird, that and he's constantly on my TV in some capacity or another (usually in commercials) and the only redeemable thing he has done IMO is the Peyton Manning-Role Model skit from SNL. Eli for last year's Super Bowl. - Ladanian Tomlinson just because he talks smack about NE all the time, I mean maybe the "if you're not cheating you're not trying" quote might be somewhat appropriate because you know...they got caught cheating. But the complaining about the celebration on the field after eliminating them from the divisional round of the playoffs two years ago seemed a bit much when you consider how annoying Merriman's "lights out dance" can be to non-Chargers fans. -Favre. Not hate as it's just pitiful how he brings out this retirement soap opera every year. That and he's just becoming a self-parody. I actually had a lot of respect for the guy. And this despite the fact that his one ring came at the expense of the Pats. - Terrell Owens. You wanna talk about soap operas? Favre-Packers management-Rodgers had nothing on Owens-Eagles Management. Nothing bugs me more when an athlete hits someone up for more money when they're already under contract. If you wanted more money you sh ould wait till you're free agent to do that. Outperformed your contract? Ok then if you underperform then pay some of that money back (isn't that the reason for MVP paying back his signing bonus due to his losing streak). The fact that he has thrown virtually every QB he has played with under the bus. Although the fact that he angers Skip Bayless so much is a redeemable quality. Which brings me to something that is a thing with me as far as the "villains" of sports is that when my team is eliminated from playoff contention I usually root for the biggest heel since that tends grinds the gears of the sports talk crowd (both personalities and audience). The fact that the team that won the AFC title last year was the biggest heel and my facorite team made things all the sweeter. And for all you Patriots haters

Didn't someone make a t-shirt celebrating Brady's injury? That's right up there with the 18-1 shirt. Pathetic and weak beyond description.

Most hated man in sports is someone who is known worldwide I'd imagine. As such I'd nominate Cristiano Ronaldo - I don't mind the guy but a lot of people do hate him.
