I'd like to appeal my one warning from like 2007 for posting STOP BREAKIN' THE LAW ASSHOLE from Liar Liar but posting asshole with a lot of letters so that it came out uncensored and looked like I was bypassing the filter. I have all the paperwork, the entire internet from 2007 printed out. *checks* Huh you did have a warning from then. We typically only hold warnings against people for X amount of time unless you're insufferable so don't even trip. Actually, we already had an appeal trial for him. It went something like this: It's amazing how well A Platypus Rave sings as the judge.

after posting today, something looked really weird.... then I noticed it's because I'm now "Don Corleone" under my username. I know it's not the end of the world, but any way at all I can get "ALF" back?
edit: thanks mcmahonfan85.
to the mods, can you please delete me to the beginning of "ALF" tier or delete a few years or whatever? I'm not attached to anything. Just curious if you guys have a way to mass delete?

Edit: It was easier to find than I thought it would be. After your next post you'll have "ALF" again. Deleting the "ALF" custom title so you're not "ALF ALF" Also, you'll stay ALF until you reach 1,250 posts. That's when you become Don Corleone. I don't know how that's a direct upgrade from ALF, but yeah. Some things don't need to make sense.

Does Proboards have a feature to hide editing timestamps?
The first forum I ever posted on back in 2000 had it, but nowhere else as far as I can tell.
I just feel oddly embarrassed since I edit my posts often because I forgot some important details or overused some words.

Whether it's to fix typos or because I left out something important, the frequency at which I have to edit my posts can be a little embarrassing.

I know you don’t pick what ads run on these forums, but is there any way that you can bar specific ads? I don’t want to see an ad for a politician if I can’t respond by going on a rant describing all of the things he can shove up his tail end without breaking any rules.

I feel like in the wake of more police shootings and armed militia members gunning down protestors, it sure would be nice to be allowed to actually talk about it.

I feel like in the wake of more police shootings and armed militia members gunning down protestors, it sure would be nice to be allowed to actually talk about it. I understand the desire but I'm sure you're aware of the reasons why this (probably; I am but one - retired - mod) will not happen. The rules have been the rules since the beginning, and they're the way they are for a reason: things devolve to a place that is not only unenjoyable (the red squiggle is telling me that's not a real word but WHATEVER, RED SQUIGGLE), but also creates a bunch of work for a small group of mods who do not get paid to do this job. In recent times, things have been allowed to be discussed to varying levels and it always requires an extra dose of diligence and, frankly, creates headaches for all involved. Everyone tries to do their best to keep on top of posts that break rules, but the number of posters will always outweigh the number of staff and thus the mods will always be working behind the 8-ball in trying to keep the board running pleasantly and smoothly. Lastly, this place is something of a haven for people looking to escape the heaviness of the world today. Thankfully, there are plenty of places on the internet where one can go to satiate the desire to discuss topics of this nature, but, frankly, it's rather nice to have somewhere you can go where everything doesn't have to be so grim. I'd even go so far as to say it's necessary. I know there's something of a community here, so if there are posters whose opinions you're looking to hear, totally go for it in personal messages. You can make a group message and say what you'd want about what you like in total privacy. I'm sure you understand all this and will respect it as much as I respect your reaching out to us.

Well, I have no intention on trying to break that rule, but I did want to voice the frustrations of myself and a few others users about the current rule.
