Can we please re open the cm punk media scrum thread? Just kick the bad apples out of the thread/issue warnings ect. It was a fun thread till the last few pages and was probably the highlight of a lot of peoples bad days. And there is still a lot of future news to be posted (like elite in Chicago or punk’s eventual buyout or return). Maybe a few day break before reopening?

People are seemingly discussing it a lot less than they had been when it was contained to that thread, and that’s with some developments since it’s been locked. The thread was also very well natured for the vast majority of it, especially given the subject matter. And this part is also melodramatic by me, but It also makes it feel incomplete as there are still ongoing developments. It’s like writing a great novel, stopping it in the middle and then releasing the rest of the story piecemeal in various newspapers. Not the same as if it was all self-contained. |

The purpose is that it gives a linear path to discuss a topic that still has a bunch of moving parts without those elements potentially overflowing other threads. "What's the latest" can be easily found and answered there. "When did that happen" can have specific pages to point them out. It's an ideal way to keep up on one of the biggest wrestling stories this decade in real time and will be valuable years from now as a resource to track when all these developments emerged and/or were disproved. There's a historical importance to it, as well as a general board accessibility and fluidity. That said, I wouldn't want to rush the Mods back from what's surely been a busy holiday season all over the world so, in all sincerity, take your time. There's a lot happening right now, no rush. |

you're overestimating how big of a thing it actually was, AEW didn't stop running shows because of it, it didn't have TMZ or front page of newspapers coverage. And if AEW stay in business as long as WWE there will be other scandals that will dwarf Punk showing his real self to the world.

We've never seen a public meltdown by a headliner given everything they could have possibly wanted. There's a reason the thread went for as long as it did instead of petering out. The story kept evolving and more and more unprecendented absurd elements kept coming out of it. It can't be overstated within the scope of the industry. |

The Vince story, while absolutely covered by bigger media outlets and more significant in terms of something we probably never thought we'd see - didn't have quite the potent absurdity of the Punk scrum fallout. I don't think any of us were quite surprised as Vince's depths. Even the biggest Punk detractors probably didn't see the scrum coming. |
