But the real winner is.... Wow. That was horrendous, and I only listened to like, the first 7 seconds. Was that live? I could almost hear the crowd going "Huh?" The look on their faces is what I'd like to see more than anything, though. I am convinced that about 5 seconds into the beginning, Avril just decided "snork it" and just went with gibberish for the chorus. "Wikkah!! Snurgadurgadurgamikkuh!!! Jergajergajergajergajerga!!!"

Pickin' on Greenday is freaking amazing. Some of the songs are better! And I am a Greenday fan going back to 93.

Hey, I got this great idea. Why don't we cover Bon Jovi, only we'll scream so no one can understand the lyrics and say f*** a lot.
"Shot through the heart, and you're to blame. Darlin' you give love a bad name... f***!!!"

Speaking of Metallica, I think they're one of the few bands where I can count more bad covers of them than good. I remember the MTV Icon show, Korn, Limp Bizkit and Avril Lavenge. Yeah THAT bad. The WORST part, Sum 41 did a melody of For Whom The Bell Tolls/Enter Sandman and thy did the best out of ALL of them!

Can the Kid Rock song really be called a cover? It's more of an extreme example of sampling. The actual lyrics are original. Same with "American Badass" using Metallica's "Sad But True". Not to mention the fact that if we're talking about "All Summer Long" most of the song is actually Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London".

It surprises me how many people (who have heard the song, Wrestlemania was the first time I heard it) don't pick up on that. I did right away.

It surprises me to Kitsune. I've loved that song for a long time now, for no other reason than he's singing about Werewolves.

Dear lord, that Take Me Out cover by Biffy Clyro shouldn't even count as a cover.

I thought Everlast's "Folsom Prison Blues" was the worst cover ever, then I saw the video. Now I KNOW this is the worst cover ever.

Every cover Hammerfall ever did. Don't get me wrong, I like Hammerfall. But especially in metal, some songs only work with a geniuenly angered and threatening sounding singer. Listen to their covers of Master of Puppets and Back to Back. It's awful.
On an entirely different note: Motorhead's Enter Sandman > the original.

getting the new Static-X CD at Best Buy, there was a code to download a cover of "Talk Dirty To Me" that they did. Holy crap, not only is it the worst cover ever, it may be one of the worst songs ever.
I am going to be humane and not even search YouTube for this auditory abortion as it will make your head explode like in Scanners

I'm sorry, because apparently there are people out there who actually like it, but A Perfect Circle's cover of "Imagine" makes me want to commit murder. And seeing as how "Imagine" is a song about peace, that should really say something over how much this cover ruins the song. I heard this.... I was going to Costco and the local Variety Station was doing an All Covers Weekend. I have never heard a nihilistic version of Imagine...I had to listen to the real version twice backed with the acoustic version to cleanse my soul after that dreck Edit: I tried watching the video....After 35 seconds my wrists spontaneously slashed themselves to protect me.

As to the Topic. As much as i like Flyleaf, their cover of Smells like Teen Spirit from nirvana was pretty awful. She sounds like a goat at some points. I like Flyleaf, but this was awful and I don't think they'll ever live it down. This has always been my vote for Worst Cover. UNTIL I HEARD THIS!! GAAAAH!!!!!
