There's a few reasons. 1, I don't like having to pick and choose where my business goes, and 2. I dislike Gamestop/EB. Gamestop is not as bad, but both have this "F you, you didn't preorder the game, we're not selling it to you" mentality with the new releases. I think it's stupid the attitude a lot of these guys cop when you try to buy one without reserving it. Plus, I get points at Best Buy towards gift certificates. Boom! |

Granted, I don't play a lot of the big, popular games of the moment like Call of Duty or Halo or something, but I bought The Legendary Starfy like two days after it came out and didn't catch a bit of grief for it, and I do that sort of thing quite a bit. Really, only games I can remember reserving any time recently were Pokemon Platinum and Arkham Asylum. Well, and this year's SvR. |

It all depends on the supply of games they receive. I normally pre-order before any extras are announced. I just like the security.

 Good News Everyone! CAW Abilites! Superstars from Scratch have low attribute scores, and do not have access to most superstar abilities. The only ones you can select be default for a superstars six ability slots are Hammer Throw Possum Pin Ring Escape Pullback Attacks Dirty Pin Referee Shield Move Thief Taunt Thief Evasive Dodge Springboard and Outside dives. The last three cannot be used by super heavyweights. To unlock the other abilities for your superstar, you must improve his stats by competeing in matches. The requirements to unlock the additional abilities are Lock Pick - Submission 80 Object Specialist - Hardcore 70 Resiliency - Overall of 92 Durability - Durability 85 Hardcore Rez - Hardcore 90 Kip Up - Technical 85 Fan Favorite - Charisma 80 Fired Up - Overall of 90 Exploder TB Attacks - Speed 75 Strong Strike - Striking 85 |

I skipped buying both the '08 and '09 installments, so I'll be giving this one a whirl when I have the ol' disposable income at the end of the month.
Judging from the reviews I've read and comments here, sounds like there are still some definite problems and flaws but overall it's the best one for a while and I should notice a real graphical 'step up' from SvR '07 naturally too.
Is this THQ's last SvR game? If so, any idea who's up for the license next?

It looks a little bit like the WWE Undisputed Title judging from that shot...which is my favorite belt aside from Big Gold. So I like it. At least it looks more like a real title belt compared to the WWE Title anyway. |

Is this THQ's last SvR game? If so, any idea who's up for the license next? I don't know, but I really wish the gameplay/engine would become similar to the one in the Day of Reckoning games. IMO, that was one of the best wrestling gameplays that didn't come from the AKI engine. |
