I was just looking through those videos, and the new moves they've added in looked pretty damn sweet. And the whole weight/height thing actually looks to be well implemented. It seems to go by a combination of body shape and height to determine what weight class you belong to. That's actually pretty nifty. It definitely won't be a day one kinda purchase, but this is near the top of my most wanted list. And I've read through the complaints that have been piling up, but this year it looks like it will actually be fun to play again. About friggin' time.

I'm staying positive. I've only ever really made a handful of caws (myself, goldberg, maybe nash and hall, DDP). I really think that the DLC won't be too far behind what with that Yoshi render being revealed a couple weeks/month or two ago. I'm a ginger so I'd totally like to have a storyline in my head where I team up with Seamus . I know I am going to enjoy this game despite stuff they may have messed up. I never play online but the info about downloading caws does suck. You'd think you would atleast be able to alter movesets and music and all that jank.

4 - Only "struggle submissions" can tap people out, and there are only 16 of those. So it's just like the past 2 games.

There's apparently been some rumblings that the first downloadable content will be out in a few weeks.
Presumably that goes for the PS3. Those of us with the 360 version will get it in April.

I'm pretty excited to pick this up tomorrow, should be fun.
Someone had said earlier..or maybe I read it elsewhere..that they made some changes to the TLC match? Is this true?

THQ/Yukes really go out of their way to cripple their own features. The only thing I can see that might be a problem for them is technology. In future games, God willing, the CAW download feature may be fixed. It's definitely a feature that should improve over time. Also, they could simply release a patch to "fix" what problems that can be fixed. I'm not too bummed about it. I don't really create a lot of guys anyway, outside of a few custom ones. I should be able to get by. I can understand how this would severely ruin other people's game experience. The man/woman violence thing is common sense. It doesn't happen in the WWE so why should they let it happen in their games? I honestly never understood why they allowed it in the first place in previous games. There were several intergender matches just this year. Aside from that, the "it doesn't happen in the real WWE" is a piss-poor excuse. TLC matches don't end in pinfall in the real WWE. Tommy Dreamer will never go over Triple H clean in the real WWE. Hell, intergender matches are more common than table maches, yet the latter is the only one in the game. This is the equivalent to booting up Street Fighter and not being allowed to fight Ryu with Chun Li. I'm sick and tired of my female CAWs being crippled every single damn year. I have e-fed characters that competed with men that I can not accurately create because of WWE and THQ's sexism. For a game that's being promoted as something that allows us to create "your world" they keep piling on these stupid restrictions. I've just about had it with this crap. Every year, the game looks promising then they manage to screw it all up.

Every year, the game looks promising then they manage to screw it all up. You could do what I plan on doing; Buy the PS2 version and an Action Replay and just hack the restriction away. You can also avoid the attribute point problem altogether, too. But, yeah, it shouldn't really be in there in the first place. If they wanted to limit just the in game divas, that's fine but my female caws shouldn't have to suffer too.

Those cheesy-as-cheese call names have given me an idea for a CAW storyline.
Brad "The Bruiser" Bingley is an old AWA wrestler frozen in time. He goes to Florida Championship Wrestling only to find out it's now a completely different company. But he meets an old friend there, colour commentator Duthty Rhodeth.
Duthty takes Brad to Vinth... Vince, to work out a contract. However, it turns out that he's just underweight to be a heavyweight contender, so he's forced to compete in the Cruiserweight division against all these young spot rats. And basically the whole storyline is Brad, with his extremely outdated 'Rasslin' techniques vs the cruiserweights and their lucha/puro inspired style.
Throw in a couple of comedy skits with Duthty and Evan Bourne trying to teach Brad about the landscape of current wrestling, and it's money right there.
And yes, I did take the name from a Bradford & Bingley ad that was just on TV, I'm horrible at thinking of names.

Just a few questions about that gripe list earlier ...
1 - When you copy a CAW, the copy doesn't have the attribute points of the original. That pisses me off. I always made a random 80 OVR CAW in the past, and I just made a bunch of clones of him then made them into someone else, so it wouldn't take as long to get points.
This never bothered me in past games, so not much of an issue, plus I hear attribute points can be earned in all modes even exhibition so this might not be a big deal in any case.
2 - All CAWs with custom themes get the Raw theme when uploaded/downloaded. I've heard this can't be changed.
But if you use in game themes they stay the same right? So if I gave my CAW the Santino Marella theme if someone were to download that he would come out to the opera music Santino has. Correct?
3 - Custom themes don't work during downloaded storylines
Whose custom theme? your own characters or the downloaded caws involved
4 - Only "struggle submissions" can tap people out, and there are only 16 of those.
This was the same in the last game, unless you got the submisson specialist skill.
5 - Each CAW can have up to three custom logos.
how many logos do you need? 3 seems a lot to me.
6 - This is incredibly dumb....apparently CAWs can have three alternate attires....but all three have to share one pool of 48 (points). Read someone complaining that it was impossible to make a good Randy Savage with entrance attire, because there aren't enough points for tights, a hat, a jacket and glasses. Incredibly lame. Long hair even takes more points than short hair.
Well yes that wouldn't be very user friendly for CAW making, lol..
7 - You can't edit ANYTHING for downloaded CAWs, including entrance music, highlight reel, entrance vid, moves, name, or appearence. So I won't be using this feature at all. Even if you copy a DLed CAW, you can't edit the copy. Also, CAWs you download go back down to their starting attributes. Which is better than everyone being 99 I guess.
If i uploaded a CAW I wouldn't want someone messing with my creation so I have no issues with that. Then again I make daft creations of surreal whimsy. As Dled CAWs can be rated any 'real' caws that are good shouldn't be hard to find.
I'm looking forward to the game, but does anyone know if or who any of the unlockable legends/alumini might be?

So, we basically have three similar attires with alternate colors..as this seems to be where they're going. Also..with superstars with already existing alternate attires (i.e. Edge with the jeans and rise above t-shirt) does this mean that we only have 2 other remaining slots for alternate colors? I know this is nit-picking to an unbelievable extent..but this has no real bearing on whether or not I'm going to invest in the game..just out of curiosity.

On the plus side, those with alternate attires can have those edited. So if you want Edge wearing pink jeans, go for it.

So it sounds like CAWS.ws's existence isn't threatened after all. This is just so phenomenally stupid in all honestly. Though then, this whole game's been a series of great huge additions with all kinds of retarded small touches, so no real surprise. Say it with me folks: VINTAGE THQ!

Anyone ever stop to think that the no Male versus Female matches is to avoid people making CAWS of regular woman and beating the tar out of them?
It's one thing to have a male wrestler facing a female wrestler(But then again, they never really do that in real life anymore) but its another to have CAWS getting beat up...
...it's like TNA and Spike TV.

Who the hell does that? Oh right, this is human society I'm talking about here. And this is a video game we're talking about here. It's one thing to beat up women in real life, but this isn't real. But whatever. Like I said earlier: PS2 version. Action Replay.
