You know what? I usually sell my copy of the outdated SVR game, not this year. Not after the masterpiece of s**t THQ chooses to call SVR 2010. After all that waiting, and for what? A half-assed customization which the game is basically based on? I will pass on this one, too. I just can't believe a great game company like THQ would do this. As Mr. Krabs once said, "I used to worship the ground you walked on. Now, I wouldn't even SPIT in your direction." I have been used to being let down by THQ and Yukes since JBI. Luckily they turned things around with the awesome SYM, and the absolutely classic HCTP. Ufortunately after HCTP was the original SvR. Never, never have I been so let down by a game. I mean, JBI was pretty bad but at least it was a step forward in gameplay compared to SD 2. The most baffling thing to me is that meanwhile, Yukes is releasing the awesome DoR and DoR 2 which were the best WWE games since No Mercy, along with HCTP. If Yukes can put out something like the DoR games, with stuff like a finisher from every position for wrestlers, great HIAC with weapons and ability to do moves anywhere, a pretty good Royal Rumble from the get go, reversals unique to different weight classes and styles, a submission system that MAKES SENSE, etc. etc...why the hell cant that same company get the SD series right? It just pains me to think what we could have if the DoR series was on its 4th or 5th game at this point. The gameplay was pretty much almost perfect already by the second game [and yes, I realize the Gamecube series had other games in it before DoR but even counting those it took them 4 games to pretty much perfect the gameplay].

I've never played the DoR games. Sounds like I'm missing out on something.
If I see it in Gamestop, I'll probably pick up DoR2. Shame THQ went multiplatform with Smackdown vs. RAW instead of making a DoR3 to the Wii.

I haven't bought an SvR game since the original. Not that some of the games following it weren't okay, but SvRs flash over substance gameplay irks me. Start with a great gameplay engine and then build up the features as you go along, I say. I would recommend DoR 2, I bought it the day it came out and wasn't disappointed. Since its cheap now, its worth checking it out. If you like No Mercy then you will definitely like DoR 1 or 2. In some ways I prefer it, since you can reverse finishers and submissions arent an instant win once a body part is worn down like in NM.

Shame THQ went multiplatform with Smackdown vs. RAW instead of making a DoR3 to the Wii. It's pretty fun. It would be if No Mercy and Smackdown had a one night stand and DoR was the aftermath. It also did things that Smackdown vs RAW is JUST doing such as turning you opponent over on the mat, true apron moves, turning your oponent on the turnbuckle(is Smackdown implementing that this year?). It also has a bigger HIAC, TLC matches that don't end in pinfall, first blood in almost ANY match type, you can interrupt any move, slam opponents on top of weapons, and I think there are some moves that Smackdown doesn't even have yet. It's a shame THQ didn't continue the series on the Nintendo systems. Especially considering that the Wii kept getting the short end of the Smackdown vs Raw stick until recently.

Let's not forget the top of HIAC had FOUR breakable squares in DoR as opposed to SD's 2, which they STILL have. Smashing your opponent through the top of the cell and into the ring looked so cool. If it were a powerbomb, it would be a powerbomb all the way down (victim lands on their back, attacker lands on their stomach). If it were a brainbuster, the victim would land and bounce off their neck in a sick manner. SVR still has that retarded "Victim lands on their back while you hang on the rim and eventually fall" garbage. TLC matches in DoR are a f***ing blast. I've played the best matches of my life with my friend in those matches. Last Man Standing was awesome too.

Off the top of my head, SmackDown! has yet to feature: Amazing Impact, Double Brainbuster, Demon Neck Crank, Tiger Driver '91, Evolution/Flux Capacitor, Carlito's Apple Spit, Super Eye Poke, Chain Gang Fist, Steiner Screwdriver, Brainbuster Falcon Arrow, Sterness Dust, Burning Hammer (standing), Super Brainbuster, Axe Guillotine Driver, Iron Claw STO, Super Reverse DDT, Golden Hip, Lip Lock, & the Fork Strike; and those are just the finishers/momentum shifts. I can't even begin to go through all the regular moves, like the Ninja Specials, that have gone the way of Chuck Cunningham.

I definitely agree with the 2 previous posters. The DOR games, especially 2 were great fun, especially HIAC matches. It was so realistic and the panels would break realistically when you slammed opponents into them, instead of just having 2 center panels that conveniently break in one spot all the time. I also agree that that dumb "falling through the cell" animation on SD. vs Raw needs to go.

Didn't they change it in the last game?
I know they don't bounce around on their heads as much anymore.

I also agree that that dumb "falling through the cell" animation on SD. vs Raw needs to go. Definitely the best HIAC ever! Being able to do stuff like a Batista Bomb, F5, or Pedigree through the top, and have both wrestlers fall through and land hard in the ring laying there dead made for some great drama. One of my all time favorite moments in any wrestling game was when I, as Randy Orton, RKOed HHH through the Cell top. Orton fell with him through it per usual but since I landed at the very edge of the breakable panel, Orton landed OUTSIDE the ring to the outside while HHH landed inside, and he got up before Randy did, though both of them were laid out for awhile. Beyond that, even though being able to break up any move you wanted got some complaints from people I personally loved it,it added an entire new dimension to tag, fatal four way, triple threat, etc. matches. Due to being able to break up moves DOR 1 and 2 were a BLAST to play with three of your friends. I enjoyed being able to save my tag partner from taking damage from a finisher by breaking it up rather than just having to helplessly watch him get Tombstoned. It also lead to being able to do some great spots, like giving HHH a Sweet Chin Music when he has someone set up for the Pedigree.

I can't remember what the new animation is, but I think it's still canned. And to Krimzon: the Demon Neck Crank was one of my favorite moves in the game. I'd always give it to my monster CAWs. KOing people with it is very satisfying.

What I miss is the Amazing Impact. Sure, the SmackDown games have a move kinda like it, but it's just not the same.

I can't remember which game, but I definitely remember it being there.

So, just for clarity's sake, the slots that your CAW has for alternate attires are taken up by backstage and entrance attires, right? And they take the place of what used to already be in the game anyways?
