I definitely agree with the 2 previous posters. The DOR games, especially 2 were great fun, especially HIAC matches. It was so realistic and the panels would break realistically when you slammed opponents into them, instead of just having 2 center panels that conveniently break in one spot all the time. I also agree that that dumb "falling through the cell" animation on SD. vs Raw needs to go. Definitely the best HIAC ever! Being able to do stuff like a Batista Bomb, F5, or Pedigree through the top, and have both wrestlers fall through and land hard in the ring laying there dead made for some great drama. One of my all time favorite moments in any wrestling game was when I, as Randy Orton, RKOed HHH through the Cell top. Orton fell with him through it per usual but since I landed at the very edge of the breakable panel, Orton landed OUTSIDE the ring to the outside while HHH landed inside, and he got up before Randy did, though both of them were laid out for awhile. Beyond that, even though being able to break up any move you wanted got some complaints from people I personally loved it,it added an entire new dimension to tag, fatal four way, triple threat, etc. matches. Due to being able to break up moves DOR 1 and 2 were a BLAST to play with three of your friends. I enjoyed being able to save my tag partner from taking damage from a finisher by breaking it up rather than just having to helplessly watch him get Tombstoned. It also lead to being able to do some great spots, like giving HHH a Sweet Chin Music when he has someone set up for the Pedigree. Yes, that is what I'm talking about man. Sounds awesome. I remember doing an RKO on top of the cell, and my opponent fell through, but I was knocked out on top of the roof laying near the whole that was just made in the cell. I remember thinking how insane it was to do a Tombstone piledriver through the cell; one because of the opponent, and two because of Undertaker's knees being destroyed by doing that. The ability to break up every move did annoy me, but it makes more sense than futilely punching at Cena, and nothing happening to him while he does a 12 second animation for the "U can't see me" crap on the Smackdown games. So.... I could get behind it a little bit because it was more realistic in a way.

I remember once playing a four-way Hell in a Cell match in Day of Reckoning 2 that lasted for quite literally two hours, and not once during the proceedings was I bored. I was Shawn Michaels, computers were Randy Orton, Undertaker, and Rob Van Dam - Orton won when he locked me in a chinlock after an exhausting battle and I couldn't help but tap.
Later there was a rematch that went about another half hour that I (as Michaels) won by pinning Orton.

Should I just skip DOR 1 and get the 2nd one? Or get both?

Anyone here bought the PS2 version? If so, can they confirm if the CAW mode is either using the old layer system or the new 3D system?

I checked out some of the gameplay clips, and I am not impressed with 2010. I see moves like a powerbomb being called a back drop, King says, "There's Undertaker's deadly submission!" when all he did was grind his fist across HBK's face, and I see from the CM Punk entrance, that Lillian Garcia still announces certain wrestlers during their entrances like she's asking a question.
No thanks, guys. I think I may pass on this one. There is just way too much recycled garbage it seems. I am not giving them $60 for a game that is still glitchy and weird. No one even said anything when HBK kicks out of the Tombstone at 2 and a half. if this was another sports game like NBA 2K10 or NFL Madden 2010, the announcers would be blowing their tops with excitement (well maybe not so much for Madden, but it's still better) Seems like I love the odd yeared Smackdown games way more. I hated 2008 and 2004's left something to be desired also.

Should I just skip DOR 1 and get the 2nd one? Or get both? I loved both games, but I enjoyed the new moves, gameplay tweaks, and the Last Man Standing Match in DOR 2. All I am going to say is, Fatal Four Way Last Man Standing with Elimination Rules. Also, DOR 2s roster was a lot better.

DOR 2 is better in a lot of ways. The controls feel tighter and more responsive and the gameplay is better overall. The C-stick submission system is pretty cool. The graphics are better, the roster's better. The only thing I don't like is the stamina system. I got used to it after a little while but it seems like it goes down too quick.

Just back home and got the game. First thing I'm doing is Superstar Threads with MVP, while singing along to What's Up.
Edit: Okay, Superstar Threads is ridiculously addictive.
Further edit: Dear God, I've spent a half an hour doing nothing but this. Somebody help me.

Just played it for about two hours. I was a little skeptical because of the minimal fanfare but I took the plunge because I really liked 09.
So far, not impressed. I'm getting the feeling like they really half assed it.
The new pinning system works this time at least and the old way is an option to.
Still playing on hard while I learn the new controls but I think I have them mastered. Doesn't take long because it's simpler this year. Maybe too simple. I'll have to see what legend is like with the parameters jacked high.
The reversal system being one button is ok but I'm worried it's going to be even easier than 09.
One new feature I like is the highlight recaps of your match. Pretty cool.
Superstar threads will help keep it current but with Ryder, Helms, Yoshi, Burchill, Smith, Kidd and Sheamus missing they're already way behind. And so for I haven't seen any entrance attires. I played Christian and Regal and no boxer or Tudors robe. Are they in there?

And the worst part is that in doing all that the only person whose Nation of Domination attire I made was Jack Swagger - I'll have to go back sometime to do R-Truth, Shelton Benjamin, MVP (who got a Lakers outfit, unintentionally - it looks awesome, though), and Mark Henry.

I love it. Hard.
BTW: Just jumped online to check out some CAWs and the game gave me a message saying there was new DLC available, maybe we'll get some stuff later today?

To the people who say that they don't want to buy it because it's just the "same ole same ole"...I think you really should ignore all the negativity and give it a shot. It doesn't feel like any of the recent Smackdown Vs. Raws...if anything, it feels more like HCTP in terms of the gameplay...and there is enough new features to really make it seem like its something different this time around. I hated 07, 08, and thought 09 was slow and boring...but so far I'm loving 10.

I felt like 2009 was way better than previous years' entries had been. 2008 was utter trash and 2007 was really, really glitchy.

Create a Story is very fluid so far. Making a sample storyline now to test the waters and going very well.

I'll probably end up picking it up in December. The 26 points for hair thing worries me though when it comes to alternate attires. Gonna really struggle to make some guys with longer hair. When you make an alternate attire, if you decide to keep X amount of parts the same eg. hair, pants, shoes....do the points get taken off again or cause you're duplicating them do you keep the same points as before? So lets say hair, pants and shoes took up 20/40 points, if you made an alt attire and chose to keep those but just add new logos/palette swap, would that take up all 40 points or still just 20/40?
And does the 40 points apply to all entrance and cutscene attires too? So do you only have 40 points for all 3 ring, 3 entrance, and 3 cutscene attires all put together?
