Dammit! Powell just updated the news item to confirm that McGuiness will be getting a NEW RING NAME in TNA. Only members can access what that name is, however. What the hell could they possibly call him?? Smithwick O'Sullivan?

What the hell could they possibly call him?? I belong to that site and know what the name supposedly is. I don't want to say anything - I'm pretty sure there's a "no paid news" rule around here - so allow me put it this way: It sounds like came from the naming machine/iPhone app Dusty Rhodes uses in FCW. Oh... and before anyone starts blaming Russo and whoever, the change is allegedly due to the fact that he is not willing to sign the "Nigel McGuiness" name over to TNA.

Seeing as his name isn't Nigel McGuinness (I'm not sure anyone knows what his real name is), it should be fairly easy to go by a new name.

Nigel to TNA is confirmed by PWInsider. How WWE could screw this up is amazing.

Man, if people thought he/they were going to be wasted in WWE....can't wait to see the reaction to the vast amounts of Webmatches in his/their future(s).

This is ridiculous...Nigel could have been a huge star in WWE...The only positive out of this is I may get my dream match of Angle vs. Danielson

Nigel to TNA is confirmed by PWInsider. How WWE could screw this up is amazing. Really not all that amazing, considering past history. I'm still amazed that CM Punk was actually used to his potential. No news on Danielson yet, so it looks like he's keeping his options open at the moment.

At the Chicago ROH show in September, Nigel was pretty clear that nothing was set in stone between him and WWE yet, both at the autograph signing and when I ran into him after the show. I wish him all of the best. He's the kind of guy who could be a legit World Champion in TNA.

Well that's put a downer on things. McGuinness to WWE is the only thing I've been excited for the last few months. And now... Nigel McGuinness becomes Tony Garth or something done. And on TNA :/

Man, this would suck. Nigel in particular should have no doubts at all he'd get a big push, he's a huge muscular guy.
Maybe it was the schedule they preferred or something.
I'm sad because I really want to see these two hook up against some of the guys in WWE at the moment more than the TNA roster. And because they'd get a hell of a lot more people watching them on WWE broadcasting.
It's their choice but I am disappointed if true.

Well, im excited to see them go to TNA where i am more confident they won't be given a joke gimmick and buried. Guys like Homicide, Joe, etc. and recently Red have done pretty well for themselves in TNA.

Dammit out of the two, I hoped Nigel would have defiantly signed with the E.

When i read it was shocked but truthfully i like where the E is at the moment. ECW is great, Smackdown is still good and Raw may have turned a corner. It's not like they would be saviors so if Nigel thinks TNA is a better fit for him then good luck. I just hope he is happy in TNA because i don't know if he'll ever get a shot at the E again.

I thought Nigel McGuinness could of been a big star in the WWE, but the TNA schedule benefits him more. He's known to be a bit injury prone, and is mid-thirties. So, even though I'd much rather seen him on WWE programming. I may have to start tuning in to TNA, especially if they lock down Sare Del Rey.

Just because Nigel is with TNA now doesn't mean he's a package deal with AmDrag...

Torch says that Nigel got tired of waiting for WWE to finalize the deal and wanted to start making money now. Powell suggests it's likely a mistake on John Laurenitis' part.
